Description

Every k-pop fan knows how hard it is to debut as an artist. Years’ worth of training- vocal, psychological, language, etc. along with working on your own personal talents to become the best entertainer you could possibly become.

As an idol, one must be immaculate in all aspects physical and emotional and aesthetical. However, the one thing of the idols that is ignored is their emotions and how they feel about whatever they are being made to do. As these forced activities continue, the idols try and find solace in each other…

This of course is a story about two idols finding solace in each other’s company. This fan fiction will feature on Kai from the GazettE (since Ruki and Reita seem to hog all the fanfiction love and Kai is too adorable…) and an OC named Choi Sang Hee.

Also, this fanfiction will find Kai a bit younger (he’s already 34!!! Who would say?!) at the age of 26 while Choi Sang Hee is at the age of 25 as the lead vocalist/guitarist of a band named Flores Bonitas which debuted in 2011. But yes, this is set in 2015. Let us keep in mind that although the GazettE had debuted in 2001 with Kai in it by 2002, if we consider his current age, it would not be very likely…

Therefore, please pretend that their band is a bit newer and has debuted in 2008 instead… (❛ω❛)

Foreword

It was just another “normal” morning for Kai.

Wake up, wake his bandmates up, take care of breakfast, get dressed, make sure the rest were dressed and leave for the company. However, this morning, unlike others, he was called into the meeting room with his manager, a few more higher ups and the company co-president.

Intimidated by the sheer number of people and the importance of all the people present, he moved to a corner of the table before he was pulled to the middle of the table by a smiling official from the management committee.

“Most of you know why we have gathered here today.” The president looked around the table, acknowledging each person, including Kai on whom his eyes lingered for a bit before moving away

“Flores Bonitas. Anyone heard of them?” the president stared at Kai who squirmed under the gaze

“Um… They are a popular girl band from South Korea with 5 young girls extremely talented in their instruments, is that right?” Kai looked around him to see a faint smile sneak onto his manager’s face

“Yes, that is right. Their agency has contacted us with a request for collaboration. What are your thoughts, Kai?” the manager looked straight at Kai, honestly curious about his response

“I am sure my band will be ecstatic about working with professionals like them. I’d be honoured to be given this chance.” Kai bows lightly to show his seriousness

“Then, Takuya, as we planned, take the GazettE to meet with the girls tonight. They should be done with the photoshoots by 5:30 pm (1730 / 17:30) so clear everything after that on their schedule, Takuya.” The co-president mutters to Kai’s manager as he flips through some documents before handing them to the manager now recognised as Takuya.

Takuya nods and stands up, Kai following his actions and both of them bow to the people in the room before leaving.

“So our practise session scheduled for this evening is cancelled right, Takuya-san?” Kai asks, pouting slightly since he won’t be able to play around with his favourite drumsticks he brought in for today.

Takuya smiles at Kai before replying in a hushed tone, “Well, we’re going to rush our schedule a bit and have a bit of practise time to ourselves! Or well, we could always come back to the company with the girls so we can both practise!”

Kai gasps and grins happily, his dimples appearing, “Thank you, manager-san!”

The two go back to the band in comfortable silence after they finish planning the evening, Takuya watching Kai skip up to his bandmates.

“What do you look so happy about? Are you calling us over for another sleepover?” Reita asks him as he flips his bangs out of his eyes, still his unplugged bass

“Nope~!” Kai replies, still grinning

“Oh . Don’t tell me you want to go for another mixer thing.” Aoi grumbles as he tunes his guitar.

“Watch your language, Aoi-kun and no it’s not exactly a mixer…” Kai said, pouting slightly

“Oh, so it does involve girls! Are they pretty? What are they like? y? Or cute, like you like them?” Ruki looks over at his leader, his pencil still in his hands, positioned over the paper with Kanji scribbles.

“Ruki-chan! Think about something else for once, please… We’re meeting with the band Flores Bonitas tonight at 6:00 at a bar to discuss a collaboration they requested. We have already booked the VIP room for the two bands. We will be leaving at 5:00 so everyone finish your work before that.” Kai’s gaze turns serious as he tells the band what is coming up.

Uruha nods “Hmm… That’s long enough. I can finish the guitar part off by 3:00 and then nap. Thank you leader-sama!”

Aoi grunts in response, agreeing with Uruha’s claim. “Thanks guys, you’re all amazing!” Kai beams at them before skipping to his backpack and pulling out his brush drumsticks

Reita chuckles “Flores Bonitas, huh? The Korean band? I wonder if we can even communicate… Well, we will somehow. But what are we going to talk about anyways? Albums? Concerts? Photoshoots? Live TV shows? What do you think, Kai-kun?”

“Uh well, I’ve heard two of them are pretty fluent in Japanese… I mean, they even have an album in Japanese so they must be good at it, right? If not we can always ask Ruki-chan to talk to them in English. Ne, Ruki-chan?” Kai smiled at Ruki over his shoulder.

“Tch. You decide for me all the time, leader-sama but this time, I will agree.” Ruki sighed and put on his headphones, trying to ignore the other 4 males staring judgingly at his daring action.

Simply shrugging, Kai stood up and hiked his bag onto his shoulder before heading for the soundproof room in which the drum set is placed in the middle of, Reita quietly following him to plug his own bass into the amplifier in the corner.

A few hours passed before Reita and Kai looked up from their own music sheets placed in front of them with notes scribbled all over them consisting of their own bass and drum parts for their newest unnamed single which they would hand in to their sound engineer to put together and then work on.

Reita and Kai smiled at each other and high-fived each other before racing each other out of the room, falling onto the floor in front of the other three members. “We’re done with the bass and the drums!” Kai announced gleefully.

Uruha looked up from his sheets to the messy members on the floor and replied nonchalantly, “They better match ours. If not, we scrape it.” Kai and Reita then looked at each other and shrugged.

The five members then huddled together for another session of composing the song, working out the details of exactly who plays what to the melody Ruki will be singing who had finished writing the lyrics so they could work around the rhythm along with the lyrics.

(A/N: Does this make sense? I myself have written a few songs (2) so I guess I understand what it means but if it is confusing, please tell me so I can change it!)

After they finished the composing, they left the music sheets with their manager who put it in the folder for their new album. It was already 4:50 by the time they had gotten a bite each.

Kai as always, started freaking out since they were not even on their way and the bar that had been chosen took around 40 minutes to get to from their company building. “Kai-chan, calm down. We’ll get there.” exhaled Aoi as he puffed out another ring from his cigarette.

All members went to take their hurried after-work showers.

Kai hurriedly changed into casual clothes comprising of a t-shirt and a pair of jeans with combat boots to match after scrubbing the make-up off his face and applying just some eyeliner to keep his highlighted.

Ruki tamed his hair as the stylist gently removes the make-up before reapplying light make up consisting of eyeliner and lipstick. He then changed into a comfortable shirt and pants, draping a scarf around his neck as his cuffs are pulled back to reveal his several bracelets.

Uruha puts on a loose top and low waist jeans, brushing his hair down and puts on just his usual eyeliner and lip balm before putting on the several rings and bracelets. Aoi dresses similarly to Uruha except his top is a shirt which is half-open exposing his well-toned chest as he drapes a scarf to keep himself warm.

Reita switches his noseband out for a new more stylish one and puts on just a white t-shirt on with loose jeans with chains hanging from the pockets as he puts on a necklace to cover his bare and monotone neck while similar to all his bandmates, he puts on rings and bracelets on his hands.

After everyone is ready, their manager Takuya piles them into their van and they set off, talking animatedly about what is about to come and what could possibly happen.

>>>POV change<<<

Min Hee orders a mocktail for herself as she reads through the notes her manager handed her in the car before nudging Hye Soo beside her. “Hey, what do you think they look like? I mean, Sang Hee asked to collaborate with them and we agreed after listening to just one song by them… What was it…?...........” Hye Soo interrupts Min Hee’s thoughts by answering for her, “Pledge.” “Yeah! Pledge! Great memory, Hye Soo! This is why I depend on you!” Min Hee shoves the notes in front of Hye Soo. “Hey look, they don’t have anyone who plays the keyboard on stage but the bassist, aka my counterpart plays it in the studio!”

Hye Soo, looks at the notes blushing, “they’re our age too… And they’re so amazing…. Wow…” The keyboardist stares at one man’s profile in particular, completely taken in by his age and yet mature nature, Ruki. [Wow. Man, I wish everyone could write lyrics like him… And we’re both maknaes! I respect him… I wonder what he looks like in real life…]

Sang Hee frowns, checking her watch as she realises that not only is her band early to reach but GazettE is late to their first meeting. Ordering a shot of vodka, she pulls out her phone and listens to their songs again, drowning herself in the guitar melodies.

Moon In notices and pats Sang Hee’s back. “They’ll be here soon, unnie. Don’t worry too much about it, okay? This is their central work base. Of course they’re busy. We’re just here on a tour and plus we have tomorrow off! You can relax, leader.” Moon In tries to smile encouragingly at their leader who just nods back, sighing shakily, extremely nervous.

Hyun Mi drums on the table, using the cutlery given, ‘My Devil on the Bed’ playing in her ear as she tries to imitate the drum sequence played in the song but soon gives up. “They’re too good at this! They’re really a rock band… What are we…~?” She wonders out loud…a bit too loud… “We’re good too! And we’re a band which plays our own style!” Min Hee sticks her tongue out at Hyun Mi.

Sang Hee, annoyed by the delay, stands up, revealing her outfit (http://cdnc.lystit.com/photos/2013/01/22/cushnie-et-ochs-black-long-sleeve-oscar-jersey-and-nting-dress-product-1-6112047-227370565_large_flex.jpeg dress with http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/71dGeNUdy1L._UX395_.jpg with slightly tamed hair, giving her hair a messy look) as she struts in her boots out of the room and to the entrance, standing outside as her manager hurries behind her.

“You should be a bit more patient, Sang Hee.” The manager chides her. “I have been patient for a while now, Jae Seok. I can’t sit around any longer.” Sang Hee frowns, her lightly pink painted lips constricting to a frown as her grey eyes scan the road. Jae Seok grumbles before pulling out his phone. “Fine I’ll call them, okay?” He glares at the girl who clearly took a long time putting her look together.

Sang Hee just shrugs and walks away from him a couple of steps, her boots clacking against the wooden floor. “Ah hello? Is this Takuya-san? Oh, yes yes, we are waiting for you. We were just a bit worried about the delay. Yes please. Yes, we will be here when you arrive. Oh yes. Yes. Oh is that so? Oh. Yes, I see you now. Very well. Thank you.” Hanging up Jae Seok turns to Sang Hee. “Choi Sang Hee, they’re here.”

Sang Hee turns and walks back to his side. “Good job, Park Jae Seok.” Smiling at her manager, she steps forward as the door to the van which stopped in front of them opens. “Let us show them how amazing the Flores really are, shall we?” smiling to herself, she stands straighter, to greet the men climbing out.
