Description

The empire is a stage where all must wear a shroud. Wicked ways are at play and assassins on the prowl. The throne is a hefty place where no weakling may sit.

When Crown Prince Xiuhan falls ill an unlikely bunch known as the Emperor's men are called for. A maiden is plucked from the future. The Oracle predicts this struggling 21st century student will save the empire. Thirst for power is great.

The empire relies on the blood of royalty, a Prince, and his people. Among these are guards with questionable histories; a medical scholar and his girly looking sidekick; a  defiant kid from the circus; the Oracle, the Chosen One. Slowly the uncanny bunch will learn the meaning of friendship, of love, of grief, of loss and of betrayal as destiny awaits to be fulfilled.

I wanted to keep my story title when it turned into a novel but TEM is taken so now it is Guardians of Shalimaar but it will always be TEM at heart. Almost got called Guardians of Cheon but Cheon is harder to say for non kpop fans so... decisions, decisions. I hope I made the right ones

Chapter 60: Since I was kind of close to finishing the story, I just decided to keep reading.
I'm glad that Hani didn't choose to return to her home but to stay with Luhan and marry him. I thought the part with the fireworks exploding is like Hani gave him her answer.
Usually if an anime, movie, drama, or novel has that kind of ending, I'm really happy even if it means that the heroine might have to leave her family from the real world behind.

Chapter 48: The part with Zitao and Soojung is cute. Although he should just let her be herself, as in if she hates dresses don't try to force her into it, maybe soon she might come to like the idea of wearing dresses.
The part with Hi is probably the saddest part of this chapter. I also like her decision to send her other child to be cared for by Suzy but her father can't blame her for doing that since he's upset that she didn't give birth to a son.

Chapter 37: It's funny the whole time that I read the story I assumed Junghwa is a boy based on her name.
Hani being from the modern world makes me wonder how she got into this world. Her having a cell phone in her possession reminded me of a novel I'm reading right now called "Divine Doctor: Daughter of the First Wife". In that story, the female lead's soul transmigrated to the ancient world, she pretends her other world belongings (like a syringe) are from a Persian master she met.

Chapter 20: Poor Luhan, being the child of a concubine isn't easy. It makes me wonder why do Emperors have concubines then if people are going to hate on the concubine's kids for not having pure royal blood. But I wonder if the hate for his mother is that she is from a low ranked family or she worked as a e before entering the Palace.
For the e part, in a novel I read, one of the concubines in there is a former e, she's also low ranked. The other concubines are higher ranked ones from high class families.

Chapter 11: The story sounds like it's getting good. Looks like Luhan is so popular that many girls want to be his Empress.
