Eli sat at the kitchen table, resting back against the chair as the creak of it broke the silence in the room for a moment. With a sigh, he let his head fall back to stare blankly at the ceiling. Kevin slowly reached out an arm and with his finger, he poked Eli's side with a soft chuckle. Eli blinked and looked at the empty chair besides him. "Kevin?" Silence responded to him and tears began to form into Eli's tired eyes before the other chair creaked, startling him. With wide eyes and a fast beating heart, he reached out towards the other chair. "Kevin," he said with a crack in his voice, doing his best to hold the warmth that he felt in his hand. "I missed you."

"I missed you too, Eli."
