Yoona is a klutz.

she is constantly running into walls that are not in her way and cars that are not in motion. she even gets black eyes sometimes, due to a certain clumsiness called "not watching where you're going."

it is rare that you won't see a string of bruises every time she pulls her sleeves up.

her balance is as impeccable as a see-saw, and she is constantly tripping over her own two feet.

Yoona is not good in school. 

she tries her hardest, she really does. but the best grade she has ever gotten on a math test is a B-, and the teachers have begun to avoid her questions in class (she asks too many).

she doesn't like reading textbooks, because reading textbooks means that she'd have to battle her dyslexia just to turn the page.

she is always hesitant to bring her report card home, because yoona says both of her parents were great students and they are disappointed whenever she shows them the "quality" of her hard work.

Yoona doesn't have many friends. 

she came to seoul with her family at the age of seven, not knowing a single person here. she was never the popular type, but she had never felt so lonely. 

yoona goes to the park on weekends. not just to play, but to watch other kids play together. she always hoped one of them would walk up to her on the swings and ask her to join them in their game of kickball. they never did. 

luhan was one of those kids at the park. he had stayed later than the other kids one day to play basketball, and yoona had invited herself to play with him. she followed him around for the rest of the day, and found out that they lived in the same neighborhood and went to the same school. 

Yoona was not someone of importance. But she knew, and she was okay with it. She was okay with being small.

Luhan was very careful.

he hated making mistakes, they reminded him how human he was. 

he likes to keep things short and simple, because there's less room for error that way.

he is self-critical, an inward perfectionist. 

Luhan is good in school. 

coming from a line of CEOs, luhan knew what it felt like to work hard. getting an education is not a goal, but an heirloom passed down from his forefathers. 

once, luhan got a less than average score on a test and became so angry that he scribbled "i hate this" all over the paper.

he never got a less than average score on anything ever again.

Luhan has many "friends."

he played football, soccer, and basketball since he was five. sports have broadened his horizons by providing a large circle of acquaintances.

he had always been popular, never alone, always adored, forever fan-girled over. 

luhan liked his friends, but sometimes he thought that he liked yoona the most. 

Luhan always thought the world was too big, so he tried making himself larger to fill up the empty space.

my oh my has it been a while. 

my return is completely spontaneous and i just thought of this story like, literally five minutes ago.

that is why the foreword doesn't sound grammatically enticing, nor has it been revised. 

but my friends, the point of the foreword in this story is not to show off any writing skills, or to lure you into the story. it is to give you some background knowledge on who luhan and yoona are in this story and what role they might play.
