Dead Note: Also known as a Mute Note, Ghost Note, Silenced Note or False Note, this note has a rhythmic value, but no distinguishable pitch when played.

11 years ago, in the early fall morning, there was a small house at the end of the Guro-Gu District surrounded by a plethora of police cars. Inside the house, was a wallowing family of four; a mother, a daughter, and two sons. There was, of course, another boy that should've been mentioned in the family, but…

He had been found dead in the abandoned house a few miles away.

Out of sorrow, and partial fear, his family had moved themselves out of the town, leaving everything the boy loved in the abandoned home which took his life; you could say it was like his own tomb. There, a story began to spread through the town on how the boy’s cries of pain, or the sound of him playing his beloved piano, could be heard within the house every night. Throughout the years, many possible buyers would run off because of the tale, wanting nothing to do with a 'dead child' or a 'haunted house'.

A future family, however, paid no attention to the history of the household, and bought it with no hesitation. The small Tuan family moved from overly sunny California to the busy parts of Seoul, South Korea. Why, you ask?

Why, the only child in the family, Mark Tuan, had been accepted into the International School of Performing Arts, where aspiring teens and tweens just like him could show their style and improve them. However, he didn’t expect himself to be learning more than just dance moves.

Who knew that he, along with the rambunctious Jackson Wang, would be the ones to investigate the true death of the late Kunpimook Bhukwakul? And even after that, would they be able to get the boy to finally rest in peace?

Kunpimook Bhukwakul: A forever-16-year-old ghost boy with an all but pleasurable fate. There was no real information on what state his body was found in, but the family was only told that he had been found in a pool of his own blood. It had been rumored throughout the town that he had possibly ran away and pulled the trigger on himself, as he was diagnosed with depression at the age of 13; that, sadly, was not the case. And though he would like to clarify the truth, there was no possibility that anyone could hear him; until the Tuan family moved in, that is. Before his death, he was known throughout the school as an aspiring piano virtuoso.

Mark Tuan: The new boy in Seoul, who happened to love to read anything involving the paranormal. Besides hiding himself in the library, he was also a renowned dancer in his old dance academy, which got the attention of the ISPA and landed him a spot. Now, he was considered a talented wallflower who, despite of being shy and not liking any attention given to him, got it by his peers. This ironic downside luckily got him into his dream school, but never would he have thought that he would also be able to catch the attention a ghost.

Jackson Wang: One of the most popular boys in school, but not ever the smartest or the biggest bookworm. Jackson was also never the person to believe in the supernatural, nor was he any type of academic scholar; he was an all-around performer, down to the bone. The only things he would have any interest in reading were either signed checks or dance steps. It was as if some ‘spirit of music’ was inside him from the moment he was born! Now, I wonder how he felt when he found out he had to read the messages given to him by something he never thought existed?

Im Jaebum, Park Jinyoung, Choi Youngjae and Kim Yugyeom: All close friends to Jackson, who were fellow students of the dramatic and musical arts. They were like a whole other family, who also took Mark in as one of their own. It was something to smile about for the first few days, but after that, things began to take a turn for the strange. Not only was there a growing bond between Mark and Jackson, but also a change in everyone and everything surrounding them. They wanted to know what the ‘Markson’ duo were really doing after hours, and they were willing to do anything to find the truth, even if it involved breaking some rules.

Nichkhun Horvejkul: Mainly known as ‘Mr. H’, he is one of the only teachers at the ISPA who remembered and loved Kunpimook, who was in fact one of his most favorite students. Since the passing of the young pianist, however, Nichkhun himself never felt at peace; his ears would cry to once more hear the young child play his piano. By then, there was a new rule that had subconsciously took over his ways of teaching: No one could be as great with the piano as Kunpimook was, nor could there ever be a student to shine any brighter. Would he go back to his old ways if he heard his star child play again, but from beyond the grave?
