While Kai and Iseul are waltzing away to paradise, their friends and family are facing some complications instead.  Here’s a mini chapter showing snippets of it.  I strongly recommend you to read this even though it does not feature Kaiseul in it, because the plot continues to unfold even here, and a few more things are revealed and hinted at all throughout the chapter.

THE REST OF EXO

“Oh my God.”  Sehun mutters.  “Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God.”

“Shut up!!”  Chanyeol thwacks him on the back of his head. 

“I can’t believe he really did that!”  Sehun holds out his arm in the direction that Kai’s car just zoomed off into.  “He can’t do that!  He can’t show his face to that many people all at once!!”

“He’s in love, child.”  Baekhyun says dramatically, slinging an arm over Chanyeol.  “Let him be.”

“He’s gone crazy!  What the will Sooman say about this?”

“Sooman won’t say anything if he doesn’t know right?”  Baekhyun replies, winking slyly.

“Yeah, but like, what if.”  Sehun mutters.  “You never know when that ahjusshi might pop up.”

“Speaking of which, what is he up to these days?”  Suho asks as he starts the car again.  With Kai running off like that, they now have a new task at hand:  pick Jongguk up from Jae’s apartment. 

“Yeah, it’s been quite a while since he last called us or something.”  D.O. agrees, looking up.

“He’s probably just resting.”  Suho says.  “He’s under that therapy treatment thing right?  For his asthma?”

“Oh.”  D.O. remarks thoughtfully.  “Well, okay.”

“Is it getting any better?”  Chanyeol asks.  “Since that last wheezing attack he got when he had to take the stairs?”

“I don’t know.”  Suho shakes his head.  “Hey, what’s the apartment name again?”

“The Springs.  Yah, make a left here!” D.O. points out before Suho could miss it.

“I was going I was going to!”

“Then send a signal!”

“I was going to!”

“That was too late, stupid!  How old are you, 17?”

“Yah, why are you getting so pissed over a late signal?!  Nobody died!”

“AISH!  This is why you all should just let me drive.”  D.O. closes his eyes, resigned.

“When you a drive a 5-minute trip could turn into a 40-minute journey!”  Suho says.  “And we get honked at!!”

“We do not!”

“You always give way to people crossing!”  Suho argues further.

“That’s what you’re supposed to do!  Pedestrians first!  Common courtesy!”  D.O. answers.

“Courtesy my ??”

“Yeah, courtesy your !  If you hit a pedestrian and they—”

“YAH!”  Baekhyun yells from the backseat, thumping both Suho and D.O.’s headrest.  “Everybody shut it!  Or else I’m driving!”

“No thanks.”  D.O. mutters.  “I choose life.”

“Agreed.”  Suho seconds.  “I don’t want an airbag to be the last thing I see.”

“Stop exaggerating!  We all know that the very worst that could happen is a few dents here and there.”

“You once got pulled over cos they thought you were drunk driving.”

“Yeah, but I wasn’t, so—“

“You once forgot to park the hand rest when you parked halfway up a slope.”

“Yeah but nothing happened there either right?  We stopped the car before it slid downhill!”

“You’re impossible.”  Chanyeol groans, shaking his head.

“Yeah, but you love me~!”  Baekhyun sings.  “Right right right?”

“GO TAKE YOUR GAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!”  Sehun yells from the other side.

“Yah, everybody shut up!  I’m trying to find the entrance here!  Why is this place so complicated?!”  Suho complains, squinting.

“20 million won says Kai and Iseul are gonna kiss tonight!”  Baekhyun exclaims gleefully, ignoring Suho.  “You in, hyung?”

“No way.  Of course they’re gonna kiss.  I’m not even gonna bet 5 bucks against that.”  Suho replies.  “I mean, did you see the way he completely lost his when he found out that that idiot date of her left?  He’s so into her man.”

“You’re right.”  Baekhyun says glumly.  “Aish, it’s not fun when you can’t bet on them anymore.”

“I swear, when he couldn’t find the keys to his car for a second, he literally looked like he was going to cry.”  Chanyeol chuckles.  “It’s like it was his life’s mission to get to her as soon as possible.  That’s how smitten he is.”

“Did you guys hear him asking me if he looked good already?”  D.O. asks, bursting into laughter.  “Kai never does that!  It’s either he doesn’t care or already believes that he looks good!”

“I did!”  Sehun laughs.  “He’s turning into a total girl.  Yah, do you really think he’s actually gonna… you know, date her?  I mean, Seo Iseul man.  Seo Iseul.  She’s like a small little helpless kitten!  Don’t get me wrong, Kai’s great and all, but… dating him would just…”

“It would take away her future.” D.O. finishes knowingly.  Sehun nods. 

“I honestly don’t know.”  Suho says as he pulls into an empty parking space.  “Let’s just hope Kai knows what he’s doing.”

JAE & JONGGUK

“NO!  NO JONGGUK PUT THAT DOWN!!”  Jae screams in frustration, jumping up to prevent the little son of satan from smashing down a bottle of wine.  “JONGGUK!  GET DOWN FROM THAT SHELF!!” 

“Noona, why can’t I drink that?”  Jongguk asks, still on top of the little kitchen stool.

“Because, Jongguk, you’ll get drunk!!”  Jae explains.  “Please get down from there!  Do you wanna drink something?  I have Sunkist!”

“But Iseul noona told me that soju makes you drunk!”  Jongguk rebuts stubbornly.

“Yeah, soju makes you drunk because it contains alcohol.  Wine contains alcohol too.  It can make you drunk as well!”  Jae says, trying to pry the bottle of wine out from Jongguk’s tiny fingers.  Jongguk only clenches it even harder and begins shaking it. 

“YAH!  Stop shaking it!!”

“I wanna try a biiiiiit!”  Jongguk whines, hugging the bottle to his chest.  “Noona, let’s just try a bit!  Noona said it’s grape juice before!!” 

“It’s grape juice with alcohol!”  Jae yells exhasperatedly.  “Yah, come on!  We’re gonna get a noise complaint at this rate!  Come on just listen to me JEBAL!”

“A little bit noona a little bit!!” Jongguk pleads, blingking cutely.  “Jongguk will stop asking for it after that!  Just a little bit!”

Jae sighs.  “It’s bitter.”

“Grape is sweet!”

Jae tries to keep her brain from exploding.  “IT’S BITTER BECAUSE OF THE ALCOHOL!”

“But the grape is sweet right?  Jongguk wanna!”

“AISH!  FINE!”  Jae snaps, and yanks open a cabinet to fetch two wine glasses.  “Let me give you some just so you know how bitter it is and can stop asking!” 

“Yaaaaayy!” Jongguk claps his hand in delight.  “Jae noona jjang!”

“You annoying child.”  Jae clucks her tongue.  “How does my sister even stand you?”

“I’m a cute boy!”  Jongguk declares, puffing his cheeks. 

“How old are you?”

“Me?  Six!  My birthday is in one month!  Then I’ll be seven!” 

“Six?!  You’re only supposed to drink this when you’re…21!”

“Why?” Jongguk asks.

“Because you’ll get drunk.”

“How old is noona?” 

“Why are you asking?” Jae snaps as she screws the cork open with the cork opener. “I’m well over 21, if that’s what you’re thinking.”

“Okay then.” Jongguk nods happily in approval.  “What’s that for noona?”

“A cork.”

"What's a cork??"  Jongguk asks.

"It's this thing right here."  Jae taps the cork before twisting it off.

Jongguk claps in delight when it comes off with a hollow pop.  "I wanna see!" 

Jae hands the cork over to Jongguk for him to play with while she pours some wine into the glasses she had previously taken out of the cabinets. 

"Jongguk, you only get this little okay??"  Jae shows the glass to Jongguk, with the deep red-purple liquid barely over the base of the glass.  "And then you have to drink water straight after this, okay?"

"Yes yes!  Give me!"  Jongguk holds out his hands. 

"Cheers."  Jae says, clanking their glasses.                                                        

"Why noona got so many??"

"Because it's mine!"  Jae says as she takes a gulp.  "I can't even believe I'm sharing this stuff with you right now!"

Jongguk holds the glass with both of his hands--which is not how you're supposed to do it, by the way--and takes a huge gulp.  "BLEEEGHHH!!"  He spits, making a face.  "It's so bitter!!"

"I told you!"  Jae laughs merrily.  "Here, give it to noona."

"But it's nice too!"  Jongguk grins.  "Jongguk wants more!"

"Aish!  No!!"

"Can we add some sugar noona?"

"SUGAR?!"  Jae shrieks, horrified.  "NO, JONGGUK, WE MOST CERTAINLY CANNOT ADD SOME SUGAR!"

"Sugar!"

"No!!"  Jae says with finality.  "Hey, you know what?  People usually drink wine with cheese to balance out and enhance the taste." 

"Ooh!  So are we gonna eat it with cheese now?" 

"Are you crazy?  No!  You've had enough wine for the next... 15 years of your life!"

"But noona!  I wanna try wine with cheese!" 

"No!"

"Yes!"

"No!"

"YEEES!!"

Jae rubs her temple exasperatedly.  "Okay, you know what?  Go to the fridge."

"To get some cheese?!"  Jongguk squeals happily.

"Yeah.  Go get some cheese slices."  Jae sighs, groaning. "Goddammit, I can't believe I'm about drink ..... WITH CHEESE SLICES!"

"Why not?"  Jongguk asks happily from the fridge.

"Because you're not supposed to drink a hundred dollar bottle with Target cheese!  There's a specific type of cheese you eat with every kind of wine, Jongguk."

"There's many kinds of wine??" Jongguk asks, returning with the cheese.

"Of course!  There's pinot noir, and you eat that with Gouda, or …. Aish, why am I even telling you this?"

“What’s this one we’re drinking noona?” 

“This?  Merlot wine.”

“Merlot?”

“Yeah, merlot.”  Jae replies boredly.

"How come noona knows all this?"  Jongguk asks curiously. 

"I know because I love wine."  Jae says, pouring a bit more wine for Jongguk. 

"More than soju?"

"Of course!  Wine is better!  It's like, high quality."  Jae taps the bottle for him to see.  "Look.  Expensive!"

"Iseul noona likes soju better, I think."  Jongguk remarks thoughtfully. 

"Does she drink a lot?"  Jae asks.

"She never drinks in front of me, noona.  What do you think."  Jongguk deadpans.

"Good point."  Jae admits.

"But appa once told me that when noona drinks, she becomes funny!"  Jongguk continues. 

"Funny?  Funny how?" 

"Funny crazy!"

"What funny crazy?!"

"She talks about blood types!" 

"She does?"  Jae snorts.  "Did she do that to your appa?"

"Yeah, appa said she puked all over a fashion blogger too." 

"She did?!"  Jae laughs.  "Then?"

"Appa paid for it."  Jongguk answers.   "Because the blogger got mad."

"He did?"  Jae asks.  "Hey, do you think your appa really likes my sister?"

"I think so.  He becomes happy when Iseul noona is around."  Jongguk nods.  "And it's nice!  Because when Jongguk wants something and appa doesn't let Jongguk, Iseul noona can help Jongguk because when Iseul noona asks, appa always says yes in the end."

"Really?  And do you think Iseul noona likes your appa too?" 

"I hope!"  Jongguk grins, crossing his fingers. 

"Well... Jongguk-ah, where's the cork?"  Jae ask, tapping the mouth of the bottle.

"Cork?"

Jae gestures impatiently.  "The little thing I gave you to play with!"

"Oh, the sponge!"

"It's not a sponge!  Anyway, where is it?"

"Uh..." Jongguk trails off, looking around.  "Jongguk gave it to noona already right?"

"YAAAH!!"  Jae screams in frustration.  "You didn't!"

"Maybe it fell!" Jongguk suggests, hopping down the chair.

"You lost it, didn’t you!”

“I didn’t!”

“Then?  Where is it now?”  Jae looks around.  “It’s gone!”

“It’s not gone!  We just aren’t seeing it!”

“YAAAAAAH!!”  Jae yells, popping out of her wits.  “Which idiot taught you that?!”

“It’s true!  We should just until we’re not looking for it anymore noona.  Usually things are like that.”  Jongguk nods in his best convincing-6-year-old manner.  “They show up when we don’t need them anymore.”

“So… what you’re saying is…” Jae stutters, “WE SHOULD JUST LEAVE THIS OPEN UNTIL THE CORK DECIDES TO MIRACULOUSLY REVEAL ITSELF?!”

“Umm…” Jongguk trails, glancing around.  “Oh!  Tissue!!  Close with tissue.”

“Mwo?!”  Jae asks, her voice a helpless whisper now.  “CLOSE IT WITH TISSUE?!” 

“Yup!”  Jongguk says, plucking a sheet out of the tissue box and handing it over to Jae.

“YAH!  Do you think THIS IS A BLOODY NOSTRIL THAT YOU CAN SO EASILY SHOVE A TISSUE UP INTO?!”  Jae yells, full-on rant mode by now.  “HOW DOES MY SISTER EVEN DEAL WITH YOU?!”                                                                                                                                                        

Just then, the doorbell rings. 

“Aish, must be your appa!  Time to go home Jongguk-ah!”  Jae sings happily as she walks towards the door.   "Is he back??"  Jongguk asks, jumping down from his seat. 

Jae opens the door and--

"What are you doing here?!" She asks, not anticipating the sight of Suho, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O., and Sehun on her front door.  "Where's Kai?"

"It's not appa??"  Jongguk comes running right up to the door.  "Oh, hyung!"

"Hello Jongguk!"  Baekhyun pushes forward and bends down to squish his cheeks.  "Let's go home!"

"Where's appa?" 

"Appa is with noona right now."  Baek replies, winking.

"What?!"  Jae gasps, looking at Suho for an explanation. 

"Long story."  He replies. 

"We've got time."  Jae saysfirmly as she opens the door wide for all of them to enter.

"So Jongguk,"  Baekhyun begins as he drives him back inside by the shoulder.  "Your appa went off to Iseul noona because her date was a jerk who left her alone in the middle of the ball for some other girl."

"So Kai's her date now?"  Jae asks, shocked.  "Did Iseul ask him to come or...?"

"Iseul asked him to pick her up but instead he decided to
