Sunset had passed and now the city lights begin to fill the sea of buildings. One by one or few at the same time of different lights appear like a rhythm of a musical box. A sea of red and yellow from the traffic below begin to emphasize at the dark of the night, the sky a gradient color of purple to blue. Stars begin to twinkle one by one, the moon’s shape seeming to be a big happy smile.

Baekhyun sits on the couch by the bedroom, the same couch Chanyeol slept on his first night here, as he watched the cityscape change in front of him. He was waiting for dinner to be ready, Chanyeol shooing him away from the kitchen (this morning’s cooking class was enough for the day).

The view never fails to leave him breathless. It was too beautiful to get tired of. But as he watched the cars move like ants marching below, he is suddenly reminded of his empty furniture-less apartment.

If only he does not have to go home. If only he can continue living this ‘dream’ a little longer.

Maybe he does not have to yet. Maybe he can.

The table was quiet this time as they eat dinner. No cats, no Baekhyun rambling, just the sounds of their chewing and the utensils echo around the room. It was not uncomfortable nor did it have any tension. It was the comfortable silence they were accustomed to.

However, the silence was broken by Baekhyun.

“Chanyeol?” He asks; his fidgeting begins.

“Mmm?” Chanyeol answers with his usual blank tone.

“C-can I…”

“Can you?” Momentarily distracted from his food, Chanyeol looks up to a fidgeting avoiding eye contact Baekhyun. “Baek?”

“Is it.. Is it ok if I….”

Seeing the nervousness seep out of his body, Chanyeol playfully pokes the brunette’s hand with his fork. “Hey, what’s wrong?” He asks with a now gentle tone, concern beginning to surface.

Gulping and looking for confidence, Baekhyun inhales before he speaks and exhales his next words. “Canispendanothernight?” Too fast than intended.
