After the debut of BtoB, Cube Entertainment takes a hiatus on debuting kpop groups. After three years, Cube Entertainment CEO, Hong Seung Sung, has decided that Cube need to gain fans attention again. Hence, he is going to debut a girl group called Radiance. This group is very unique because they are known by the public even before they are debuted. Hong Seung Sung said to the press: "I want to do things that people haven't did before, so I've tried to piece up girls with different talents, all of them are famous in different ways. I want every members in Radiance to be famous and loved by every fans equally. That is my goal and hope for Radiance." When the press asked what genre would the girls be debuting. He said: "I know everyone loves y concept, but I don't think they are ready for that yet, so they'll be the cutey girls who falls in love." Hong Seung Sung also said that Radiance is considered as the sister/junior group of Beast.
