Chapter 3

New Home

The day of the moving finally came. You had packed all of your things, and Ki Joon’s with the help of Taecyeon.

You were now waiting for the moving van to come, and the workers, who would help you carry out your packages.

Ki Joon was coming to your home, or to be specific Yongguk’s home tomorrow, and you were excited, and yet nervous at the same time. Yongguk, and you haven’t really talked about it.

You heard through one of his workers that he was working till late tonight. It was alright with you, since you could work alone in the house without having him around.

This was also your first time going to Yongguk’s house. You didn’t know how it looked. All you knew was that it was a house in a neighborhood. He didn’t live out in the city.  

The house had a backyard. That was also one of the main reasons to why Mrs. Kim thought it was a good idea to move into Yongguk’s house, because Ki Joon could use the backyard to play. You had to admit that it was true. It would benefit Ki Joon, in the long run.

Your phone was ringing, and you quickly picked it up.

“Hello.”

“Sera, it’s me Taecyeon. Have you left yet?”

“No, why?” You asked.

“I can take you there if you want, I’m soon off from work.” He said.

You smiled, and shook your head. “It’s okay, Taec. The moving van is already here.” You said, and he cooed back.

“Oh.. Okay then.” He paused, and there was a moment of silence. “If you need anything, let me know, and I’ll come by.” He said, and you laughed.

“I know, don’t worry about me. I’m not going to live with a murderer.” You said jokingly, and laughed.

But Taecyeon on the other hand was quiet on the phone, and you sensed that he was worried, because it was finally happening.

You were moving out. You also got quiet for a moment, and chewed on your bottom lip whilst looking out on the moving van that finally stopped in front of you.

“I’m okay, you don’t have to worry about me.” You assured him once more, and he sighed deeply.

“Just text me, when you get there.” He said, and you cooed back, and hung up the call.

The ride to Yongguk’s house took almost an hour. You sat in the front seat with the driver, and watched the neighborhood as you got closer to his house.

This place seemed like the perfect place to raise a kid, and there were many neighbors. You didn’t expect a man like Yongguk to live in such a place.

He seemed more like a person, who would live in a penthouse. Then it suddenly hit you that you actually didn’t know whether he lived alone or not, and if he was in a relationship. You had no information about him.

You knew nothing about this man, whom you would be living with from now on. It was kind of scary.

“We’ve reached the destination Miss.” The driver announced, and you looked up at the old man, and nodded.

“Thank you.”

The van pulled over a big white, modern mansion, and you gapped at it.

It can’t be this. This can’t be his house.

It was the perfect house for a little family to live in. A smile spread on your face unknowingly, and you stepped out of the van.

The key to the house was in your purse. Yongguk sent it to you through the mail a few days ago. It felt really odd knowing that you would be living in this house from now on, and the fact that you had the keys to this stranger’s house.

You sent your friend Taecyeon a text message, telling him that you arrived. You chewed on your bottom lip as you looked at the place, and you were curious about how it looked from inside, and finally opened the door to the house.

Suddenly, you felt like a child in a candy store. The house was huge from inside as well, the living room was big, and spacious.

You walked further in, and to the living room. It was so nice. You had a hard time believing that this is the house, where Yongguk lives.

The style was contemporary, modern, and simple, and you really liked this style a lot. It was nice, and it yet had a very cozy feeling.

You smiled, and sat down on the beige colored couch. It was so comfortable, and soft. You sighed, and leaned back for a moment.

You looked out straight, and saw the white wooden bookshelves, there were a lot of books, vases and objects placed in the shelves.

You got up from the couch, and walked towards the bookshelf. You wondered why there wasn’t any television in the living room.

Your eyes fell upon some medals, and you furrowed your brows. “Producer Bang Yongguk”, “Artist of the year”

You gapped, feeling stunned. It seemed like Yongguk was quite successful despite his young age. You walked out of the living room, and down the hall to the kitchen. It was an open room, and you could see the kitchen as you walked towards it.

It was so nice. The walls were white and so bright. The counters were white, and shiny. You then looked at the dining table.

It was simple, yet sophisticated and the chairs as well. The island was a dark wood, and had three black leather barstools.

One for me, Yongguk, and Ki Joon.

You smiled as you your hand across the table. Then you furrowed your brows, and shook your head, wondering about what you were thinking.

There just three chairs there, not one for you. The kitchen was modern, and it matched with the interior of the living room.

You could imagine yourself cooking in this kitchen, making breakfast, lunch, and dinner for Ki Joon.

You couldn’t help but to smile. You looked at the fridge which was big, black and shiny. It had a built-in ice-cube maker. You gasped. This was perfect.

The floor was of crème colored tiles. What caught your attention is that there are a lot of windows in this house. It made the house look spacious, and bright. It was a modern house.

But you liked that it had the big windows, the sun entered the room, and light the living room, and kitchen.

There was dining table in the kitchen. It was a bigger one, and more people could sit there and eat, instead of the island that only had three barstools.

After seeing the living room, and kitchen, you hurried to see the backyard. You opened the glass door, and stepped out into the green field. You were standing at the brown wooden deck, and your eyes turned to the side, widened of surprise.

“No way! He has a pool.”

There is a pool, you didn’t know that he had a pool. You jumped up, and down, feeling all excited, and giddy. You were a bit too excited, and you stopped jumping.

Pull yourself together, Sera. You scolded.

You shook your head, and looked around you. You imagined the things you could do together with Ki Joon in the backyard.

You could plan all kinds of activities, and play games. You smiled, and hurried back inside to check out every room of the house.

You grinned, and ran upstairs to the second floor. You strode down the hall, and opened a random door.

You were surprised once more. This room had a big couch. He had a huge tv projector screen. This is where he watches tv or hangs out with his friends, you thought. This room was like a mini cinema.

You smiled, when you saw the red pillows, there was finally some strong colors in this house. There were also some red patterns on the wall. You closed the door, and strode down the hall.

You opened another random door, but this door was locked, you furrowed your brows, pouted your lips, and tried to open it once more.

However, the door was locked, and you wondered why, and what that room contained. Does Bang Yongguk have some sort of secret room in his house. Your eyes widened, and you shook your head.

I don’t know this man.

You shook your head, and stopped yourself from thinking weird things. You walked further down the hall, and suddenly stopped once you saw a name sign ‘Ki Joon’ on a door, and you smiled.

You opened the door to the room, and you were so surprised to see how it was. The room was decorated with multiple things for kids of Ki Joon’s age.

There was a little desk for painting, a bed, wardrobe, and a drawer for toys. The room was blue and white and had cartoon drawings on the wall.

The theme of the room was cars, a typical boy’s thing, and you laughed. It was really a typical boy’s room, and you actually liked it. Everything was too perfect.

Did Yongguk do all this by himself? you thought to yourself.

There wasn’t much space for the things you had brought for Ki Joon, to place in this room, and you had to find another spare room to put your things in.

You walked out of the room, and decided to look for your new room. You walked to the end of the hall, and randomly opened a door.

This room was definitely not yours, it smelled of men’s cologne, and there were clothes spread on the bed.

This was definitely Yongguk’s room, and you knew that you shouldn’t be in here. However, you couldn’t help yourself, because of your curiosity, and you looked around the room. Your eyes scanned the room.

There was just no color in his room. The walls were dark grey. Everything was black, grey and dark colors. It oozed of a bachelor man, maybe he is single after all you thought. His room signaled that.

You couldn’t help yourself, because of your curiosity over this man, who you would be living with, because you knew he wouldn’t say anything about himself. They say you can know one person by seeing their bedroom.

He had a black bed, his room gave off a strong vibe of sophistication, and independence. That’s what you felt when you entered his room.

Your gaze fell open a frame at the bed table. It was a picture of him smiling, whilst holding Tigger stuffed animals. There was an old lady beside him. she had short curls.

It must be his grandmother, you figured. She had a nice, and warm smile. Yongguk was smiling a lot on that picture.

He didn’t look like himself at all. He didn’t look like the rich, cold, and arrogant stone-man that he is. You had never seen him smile so much. He didn’t seem like a man who could smile. You shrugged.

Suddenly, someone cleared their throat from behind to make their presence noticeable. Your body stiffened like a statue.

You mentally let out a bundle of curses. You shouldn’t have walked into his room. He would kick you out now.

You quickly thought about an excuse for why you were in his room You slowly turned around, startled, thinking that it might be Yongguk. You were ready to die.

But as you turned around, and saw the male in front of you, it wasn’t Yongguk. Your eyes widened for a quick second, and you gathered yourself.

“What are you doing in Yongguk hyung’s room?” The male asked you.

This guy had a very soft look, his eyes were big, and brown. His lips were very plump. He had brown hair, and he was wearing a hoodie, and jeans.

“I couldn’t find my room.” You answered, and it wasn’t really a lie.

You walked into Yongguk’s room, when you were searching for yours. He suddenly smiled, and his eyes narrowed a bit as his smile grew.

He strode towards you with his hand outstretched to greet you. This guy did not seem as cold as Yongguk. He was smiling.

“I’m, Jung Daehyun. Nice to meet you. I heard a lot about you.” He said, and there was something in his eyes that you didn’t know what was.

“I’m Kwon Sera, and nice to meet you too. Oh really?” You asked, and wondered about what Yongguk might have told this guy about you.

“Yeah.” He chuckled. “Yongguk said you’re quiet a handful.” He added, and you gapped at him.

This didn’t come as a surprise to you. You saw it all coming, and wondered about what else that jerk had said about you. You tried to laugh as if it was all a joke, but you wanted to find Yongguk and punch him.

That jerk. I will choke him.

“Do you perhaps know where my room is?” You asked him, and quickly changed the subject, before you cursed his friend.

“Yes, you’ll be using the guest room.”

The guy named Daehyun guided you to your room, which was actually right beside Yongguk’s room. You couldn’t help but wonder why he chose that room for you, when it was so close to his room.

Now you would probably run into each other a lot, and you sighed. Daehyun heard your sigh. He looked at you as though he read your mind. He let out a soft laugh.

“Don’t worry, hyung is almost never home at nights.” He said.

You stiffened and stared at him. You were going to defend yourself, but you were rather curious about why Yongguk isn’t home at night.

Did he go out clubbing? Did he hook up? Just, what does he do? You felt on the verge due to your immense curiousity in this man, whom you will be living with.

“What, why not, he has to now, because Ki Joon is coming tomorrow.” You said in a clear tone.

Daehyun realized what you meant, and regretted what he had said. He might just have brought his hyung into trouble.

“Oh, he’ll probably work at home more often now, because of Ki Joon.” Daehyun said, smiling, trying to save his hyung’s life.

You thought about this guy, and that he might help you get some information out on Yongguk. He definitely seemed more talkative than Yongguk.

“So, what does he actually do?” You asked Daehyun about Yongguk’s job, and crossed your arms over your chest, and narrowed your eyes of curiousity. “I know he’s an artist, and CEO, but CEO of what type of company?” You asked further.

Daehyun was surprised to see that you didn’t know anything about Yongguk. He rubbed the back of his neck, and gave you a small smile.

“Yongguk hyung owns a studio, which he created himself. He produces music, lyrics, and makes music with me, and some other guys. He’s a producer, basically.” He explained, and you nodded.

You bit your lips as you thought about Yongguk. He has created his own music company at such a young age. You couldn’t help but get surprised, and it explained how he lived in such a grand mansion.

“How in the world did he manage all that in such a young age?” You found yourself asking that aloud. “No wonder he can afford to live in this mansion.” You adde
