Prologue
Christmas
The snow fell ponderously. The roads were glossy with frozen ice powdered by soft snow seemed devilish to Hana, because they were the very roads that took her dearest Jong-in away from her, forever.
She stared meaninglessly at the large Christmas tree that stood there agile by itself. It had been standing alone for a whole entire year and she had never packed it away since Jong-in’s death. The lights were guttering and the guttering light of the baby angel switched off with a small shutter.
Hana her crackled lips and sighed.
“Why did you leave me so soon?” She looked outside the window and stared at the snow falling and creating a deep abyss in her backyard. The window tills were filled with snow and this Christmas; there was nobody to clear that off for her.
It was about time she forgot, but she couldn’t- no, she didn’t want to. Because in her heart, there was a small belief that he would come back, just like he promised her.
