With the gun positioned neatly on her temple, the feel of his finger being placed on the trigger was passed through to her. This was it, the time she had no choice but to admit defeat. The many years of running, fighting, and seeing death in the eye had come to this. She saw her co-workers, her friends, die in the most distraught ways one by one. The poor victims caught in the flames, each one flashing back in her mind.

Now, it was her turn. She didn’t believe it could come to this. The man was so quick, always one step ahead. She never showed her fear, why would she, all it would do was widen the grin on the male’s face. The gun was confidently placed, she couldn't snatch it away. Nobody was here to help her, the only sound that echoed was the male turning the safety off the gun. She kept her body position, her dagger gripping tighter in her hand.

“You really want to end this now, Guk? I thought you found this fun.” Her eyes locked onto the only empty space on the ground, since the entirety of the warehouse floor was covered in dead bodies and blood spills.

Yongguk grinned, his gun still perfectly aligned right where he wanted it to be. “We're grown up now, Chaerin. All fun has to come to an end, right? You would know, all of your friends have gone. No more fun with them now”

“So have yours” Chaerin’s words were fought back through her teeth, the level of anger in her voice was growing stronger.

“You seem to forget, I control these worlds. I can form new friends. You broke the rules, Chaerin”

“I never broke any rules. You picked on us, we rebelled”

“They rebelled, they failed, they died. Fighting against me doesn't do ”

Every word hurt her, she closed her eyes for a short moment to remember the now lost victims. The ones who didn't deserve to die. She knew in her heart he was wrong, but for once, he sounded as though he was right.

Yongguk kept the gun on her temple as he showed the dead crowd surrounding them with his free hand. “Look at this, this could've all been solved earlier if you joined me”

“Never in my life will I join you” She glared straight in his eyes, nothing but hatred showed.

Yongguk looked back, almost as if it was a joke. He grinned mischievously.

“Then we'll try again.”

And thus, the only sound heard was the gunshot, and another body dropping to the ground.
