Sleepover
EquationsNote: That sleepover with Kwangsoo?
After shower, Jihyo drove Keia over to Kwangsoo’s place. Kwangsoo greeted them and let them inside.
“Keia, are you ready to build a castle with samchon?” He asked Keia. Keia nodded and immediately ran inside, leaving Jihyo by the door. Jihyo motioned Kwangsoo to go first while she followed them behind. She set down the dinner she brought on the dining table and then prepared the table. Kwangsoo and Keia were playing in Kwangsoo’s room.
“Hanbeondo! Hanbeondo!” Keia squealed, laughing. Jihyo could hear her voice from the kitchen and smiled. She joined the two a little after. “Eomma!” Keia shouted when she saw Jihyo entering the room. “Igeobwa! I can fly!” She said, smiling happily. Kwangsoo held Keia as she stretched on his arms with arms open wide, like an airpline. He carried her around the room before throwing her onto the bed. Kwangsoo himself was laughing at Keia’s excitement. He adored her wholly.
“You’re going to tire samchon.” Jihyo said, laughing at the two.
“Ok, majimakiya…” Kwangsoo said to Keia, that friendly smile on his face. Jihyo smiled at how good Kwangsoo was with kids. Kwangsoo carried Keia once more, he flew her around the room and threw her onto his bed again. Keia laughed to her heart’s content. Kwangsoo then collapsed on top of her, placing his arm right on top of her body. Keia giggled at her uncle’s faked fatigue.
“Samchon mugoweo.” Keia giggled.
“Dinner’s outside when you two are ready.” Jihyo said, chuckling and leaving for the kitchen again. Kwangsoo looked at Jihyo and nodded.
“Let’s go out.” Kwangsoo said.
“Shirheo…” Keia said, giggling. She still wanted to play around with Kwangsoo. He laughed, but he was thinking of a way to bring her outside.
“Baegopeunde...” Kwangsoo said.
“Baegopeunde shirheo!” Keia giggled, joking around.
“Hurry, I’ll give you a piggyback if you want to go out.” Kwangsoo said, sitting on the edge of the bed. “We’ll play more after dinner. We can make our castle higher.” He offered. Keia stood up and wobbled towards him, getting on his back. Kwangsoo carried her outside and sat her on the chair. Jihyo smiled at the two, they were both sweating from playing.
After dinner, the three played together, tiring themselves out. When it was time for Keia to go to bed, the two adults had to force her to stop running around and lie down on the bed.
“Samchon, you can sleep here.” Keia told Kwangsoo, patting the space next to her. Jihyo nodded, and Kwangsoo lied down there. Jihyo stood up and dimmed the lights, kneeling next to Keia, while Kwangsoo patted her to sleep. Jihyo kissed Keia goodnight, and maybe it was because she was extremely tired, but she slept almost immediately. Kwangsoo then stood up.
“Sleep here, noona.” Kwangsoo said to Jihyo.
“That’s fine. I can sleep on the sofa outside. Just sleep with her.” Jihyo said, knowing that Keia would be fine with Kwangsoo.
“Aniya… What are you saying noona?” Kwangsoo said. “You should sleep here. She’s gonna look for you when she wakes up.” Kwangsoo said. He insisted that he’ll be fine outside, and Jihyo finally agreed. “I’ll be outside if you need me.” He said, going out and closing the door behind him. Jihyo nodded, and went to shower. Outside, Kwangsoo the TV, looking for something to watch.
When Jihyo was done with shower, she sat on the bed, looking at Keia. She took her phone and dialed Gary’s number. Before the first ring, Gary picked up. Gary’s face popped up on her screen and she smiled. He looked tired.
“Jihyo-ya…” He greeted her, sounding as tired as he looked. “Are you in Kwangsoo’s house now?” He asked and she nodded. “And the baby’s sleeping?” He asked again, and she nodded again.
“Your manager told me you brought a little girl up the stage today.” She said, a proud smile on her face. Gary looked at her and smiled, he missed her, and she missed him as much.
“She was trapped in the crowd.” He said.
“You’re an appa.” Jihyo said, smiling brightly. “Do you wanna see her?” Jihyo said, and without waiting for his response, she showed him Keia. Keia was sleeping peacefully, her hands were clutching Jihyo’s shirt tightly.
“Give her a kiss for me.” Gary said, and Jihyo nodded, bringing the phone back in front of her. Gary stared into her eyes and her smile turned soft. Gary seemed to understand her, and he sighed. Seeing her through video calls only made him miss her more. It made her look and feel so far away.
“Don’t have a showcase this long again, oppa.” Jihyo said, laughing slightly, knowing that it didn’t only pain her and Keia, but also Gary. She knew he wanted to go home. The two continued talking about their days, about how they longed to see each other again. Jihyo watched him as he re-read his lyrics, preparing for tomorrow. Jihyo smiled, loving it when he was concentrated on rapping like that. It used to be the best side of Gary she loved, before she saw how Gary is with Keia. Afterwards, that was the image of Gary she thought was the most charming.
“We should take Keia to a concert.” Gary said suddenly, looking up. He was obviously still thinking of the little girl at the concert. It must’ve reminded him of their daughter. Jihyo nodded.
“We can do that, but you should go to bed now. You look very tired, oppa. And you still have another week.” Jihyo said, worried that he wasn’t getting enough sleep. Gary nodded. “I’ll g
