The Chosen One
Every year, civilians living in the East of EXO village are to give up any goods they have harvest to their king as sacrifice to try and have a more prosperous new year for themselves and for their King. It could vary from sacrificing animals, plants, flowers, food, land, house basically anything including humans. Anything could be given so as a present for satisfaction of their King.
And like every year, the sacrifice is also done this time. But, unlike previous times where the villagers could predict their King's choice, this time, however they had never thought the King's interest would go to a mere slave boy. Now, with the town's new sacrifice, the villagers only hope that the King would live a less lonely life and be more happier.
Foreword
Huang Zitao, Tao for short, bit his lower lip as he looked around the big room he was shoved in a few minutes ago. It was the King's room and he was ordered to stay there and wait until the King had deemed it time enough for him to return to his chambers.
He was tired, scared and hungry at the same time. Tao couldn't remember when it was the last time he was given some proper food to eat, nor could he remember the last time he had a good night's rest. He could remember that one moment he was still with his parents and his older brother moving from one place to another to make a better living and the next moment he was shoved in a big carriage by unknown men wearing all heavy and black armor.
He had cried and cried for his parents and his brother, but no one paid attention to him. It was when he was whipped with a horse crop that he finally realized that he was never going to be reunited with his family again and that his life was in hands of the ones where he was being kept locked up, shunned from the rest of the world.
His jumbled thoughts only came to an halt when he heard the door open with a 'click'. And in stepped the King of EXO situated in the East. Standing tall, oozing charisma and authority and looking quiet stern.
A whimper escaped his throat as he braced himself for whatever fate had in store for him.

How have all of you been? I have been trying to keep myself healthy for a while now. Been away from writing for a short time too. Even though I have been around to read fanfics and all, I have actually taken a step back from writing more fanfictions, especially EXO fanfics.
With everything going around in SM, I have kind of lost some interest in Kpop tbh. But I am trying to hold onto Kpop, just so I stay sane. Because I've been into Kpop for more than 10 years now and fallen in love with it way back, I kind of find it sad to leave it just like that, just because unhappy things happened to SM.
Okay, anyways... this story is going to (hopefully) a short one, because I don't want to write too many chapters now (it takes a lot of my energy and sometimes I really have no idea what to write).
