There were friends of three as happy as can be.
They were always together and always free.
They played every day without worry or care.
They ran through the land, the wind in their hair.
But trouble laid ahead for this trio of friends.
They had to battle to make meet of ends.
From families that would never get along,
Three friends fought the battle with a song.
The melody of past held their beliefs fast
That this dreaded war would surely not last.
The notes of promise and of hearts to mend
Finally brought this conflict to a swift end.
However, opposition followed this treaty.
Friends separated to prove lack of treachery.
But daily they cried tears of bitter melancholy
And relived the days of blessed, naive purity.

☀Walkers of the Dawn
The humans.
The most powerless but largest in number.
Many of them are unaware of the two other.
The most adapting, changing, and diverse bunch,
They are sadly the most likely to end up as lunch.
With the shortest of lives and brightest of eyes,
They continue to thrive and build into the skies.
These beings never cease to grow and defy fate.
They are the only ones who remember the date.
Never ceasing to bring amazement to the earth,
They bring new life to being with every birth.
With hearts of golds and tongues of silvers,
They are compassionate givers or sly deceivers.
Living the day away and living the night right,
These creatures fully use their short, dying light.
Rather than pitiful, these creatures are beautiful
In their unending fight for the unobtainable.

☾Rulers of the Dusk
The vampires.
The ones of myths, legends, and tall tales,
These beings are supposedly hidden in veils.
They are supposedly powerful yet full of holes
That people could take advantage of like moles.
Yet in reality, unlike these fables, they greatly differ.
Garlic, crosses, and wooden stakes do no buffer.
Into the sunlight these creatures can walk like all
Though from the sun itself their eyes do fall.
Generally creatures of pride and knowledge,
They see humans as nothing but a beverage.
Strong, cold, and as eternal as ice in winter,
They stand tall even in the inferno of summer.
Enemies with those who guard their prey,
There is a bitterness that continues to stay.
Ones who hold an infinite amount of curiosity,
They'll give chase with a surprising velocity.

✩Keepers of the Evening
The werewolves.
Like and yet unlike all of the ancient stories,
They live on in antiquated memories and glories.
Enemies of those who threaten their sphere,
They protect and keep their loved ones very near.
Fierce, bold, and loyal, these creatures are a legend.
They stand up to whatever life wishes to send,
And yet, unlike the antediluvian pictures,
They are much stronger than any caricatures.
A man and beast fighting instinctual desires,
They must quench their constant internal fires.
Guided by personal fervor, not objective moon,
Their gift, depending, can be a bane or a boon.
With energy and recovery like few others,
These beings are filled with unusual powers.
Not quite a man, but not quite a beast either,
Of their own stories, they alone are the writer.
