Interlude of a Heartbreaker

Description

He loved the parties, the alcohol, the girls, loud music, even being popular. Jackson used to be like her, innocent in the sense of the word. Now he was a heartbreaker, the player that every girl dumb enough not to run swooned over. He was the epitome of wild but perfect and he didn't care what people said. Jackson and Minah were like fire and ice, two completely different beings but somehow ending up connected. Their friendship was something strange. She was a good girl, preferring to stay away from the drinking and parties but best friends of 12 years stayed together, right?

Foreword

As soon as I walked through the door I was hit by the scent of alcohol and wanted to bolt. But I had to restrain myself because I had promised Jackson that I would come with him to this party, that and he was practically dragging me through the door frame. The bass of the music thumped through the whole house, loud enough so that I could feel it in my chest. I didn't like this type of atmosphere and it was obvious that I didn't belong in this environment. Two girls gave me dirty looks from the corner of the living room and I immediately kept my head down.

"Jackson, I don't like it here," I said lowly as he pulled me into the kitchen.

"Hey, it's not that bad, you have to get used to it. Besides, you owe me for taking the blame for breaking your mother's plate the other day."

I groaned, it was true that I had broken a plate and he said that it was his fault but I couldn't believe that he would use that to lure me to my first official party. "Fine, but I'm not going to do anything."

He gave me a nod as we entered the kitchen, him making a bee line for the red solo cups sitting on the counter. Frowning, I poured myself a glass of soda, making sure that it wasn't spiked. I didn't like it here and it was obvious. I guess that it was obvious that I didn't belong here either because people were giving me strange looks. My eyes darted from person to person in the living room as Jackson took off, pushing through the swarm of people that were here. Immediately as soon as he was out of my sight I panicked. Was he really going to leave me all alone here in a place that was to totally foreign to me? I guess he was because he was gone.

Heaving a sigh, I stared down into my soda that fizzed. I leaned against the counter, not wanting to get involved in an awkward situation in the living room. I glanced up as a couple entered the kitchen, their lips locked as they stumbled, slamming into the countertop that was close to me. I flinched as I moved out of their way, not wanting to bump into them and get yelled at. As I looked out to the living room, I realized that many people were like this. Feeling insecure, I took timid steps into the living room and made my way to the stairs that led upwards. As soon as I had gotten upstairs, I realized that it was a bad idea to think about hiding in one of the rooms because a girl's moans were heard from the one to my left. My face turned a dark shade of red as I made my way down the hall and to a bathroom that was open. Sighing, I sat down on the toilet seat after putting the lid down after I locked the door. Taking out my cell phone, I decided that I would play games for the rest of the night while hiding up here. How pathetic, I couldn't even survive in a social environment.
