“ Fifteen days to go until your brain tumor operation” The man in white said, his tone is dead serious, He slowly brought his hands up to adjust his glasses “for the nth time, I just want to remind you that out of 100 percent you’ve only got 25 percent of chance  of  surviving the surgery” He once said.

“I know” There’s no hint of fear in Jessica’s tone, in fact she said it firmly.

The neurologist let a small smile “Just to be clear, are you sure that you want to continue the surgery?”

“I am” Jessica said.

The neurologist—Kai chuckled hearing the response “You’re very brave Miss. Jung” a pause “Now I start to wonder” He then eyed jessica intensely “Aren’t you afraid of drying? I mean,  some of my previous patients hesitates to continue the surgery because they’re afraid to die, they’re afraid that if the operation didn’t go well, they’ll leave the people they love”

“Of course I’m afraid, but at least I can say that I tried to save myself” Jessica laughed, “and if I die, then I die” another laugh but this time a force one.

The doctor lightly laugh at Jessica’s antics “Okay, then. I’ll see you soon?” he stretches his hands for a handshake.

“See you soon” Jessica said as she shakes the hand.

Krystal can’t help but to hug her sister tightly, she’s in total pain. Her thoughts made her hug her sister tightly than before, as if that hug would ease Jessica’s pain “Please stay strong” Krystal harshly whispered at Jessica.

“Ahhh” Another moan of painful can be heard, Jessica clench her fist and brought it to her head “Krystal it hurts” She cried out.

Krystal tried her best to stop Jessica from punching her head but Jessica seem stronger “Unnie please stop!” she said between her sobs.

Dear God please tell me that everything will be alright, krystal silently prayed as she continue to wrap her hands around her sister who is suffering from brain tumor.

The next day Jessica stepped out from the room looking fresh, as if nothing happened yesterday night.

“Good morning unnie” Krystal greeted before motioning her older sister to join her to eat their breakfast. Jessica sat to the opposite chair so that she’s facing krystal.

“Krys”

Krystal stopped drinking her coffee,

“What is it unnie?”

Jessica avoids krystal’s eyes “I’m sorry for giving you a hard time, I know—“

“Unnie stop right there, I’m your sister, you’re my responsibility and please stop saying sorry cause I’m not helping you out of pity, I’m doing this because I love you and I want to take care of you” Krystal never thought that she’s going to cry this early in the morning.

Feeling guilty, jessica bit her lower lip “Still, I’m sorry”

“Unnie, can I ask you a favor?”

Without looking at the younger jung she spoke “What is it?”

“Please stop acting as if you’re strong, I know you’re not.  And please promise me that you’re not going to die and that you won’t leave me”

Jessica can’t help but to get teary hearing her sister’s pleading tone. “krys—“

“Please…”

Jessica closed her eyes not wanting to see the pain on Krystal’s face. I’m sorry.

“You know that in fifteen days I’m going to have my operation right?”

“I want to live my life to the fullest”

“Only if you promise me that nothing bad will going to happen to you in Korea and you’ll take care of yourself”

“How about I promise if I survived the operation I’ll bring you and krystal to Disneyland and we’re going to take pictures with mickey mouse?”

“That’s better!”
