The girls underwent a massive switch from their previous hip and stronger persona, to a more demure and softer image with the release of the smash-hit called simply 'I Don't Care'. But SK showed how much they cared when the single topped various music shows, including KBS's Music Bank, M.Net's M! Countdown, and SBS's InkiGayo; it led the Music Bank chart for 5 weeks. 5 weeks for a group that only polished the stage for a mere 3 months? Not too shabby I dare say, not shabby at all. The group was shown even more love when it became the most downloaded song for the month of July.
But not even the girls realized how much fame they truly achieved, they must have got a hint when the single sold over 4.5 million digital copies. Making it one of the best-selling singles in South Korea OF ALL TIME!
Just above BIGBANG's "Lies" and just a bit under Wonder Girls worlwide hit "Nobody". Nice job ladies.
An unplugged 'reggae' version of the song was created and preformed on SBS's InkiGayo signalling an end to their promotions, but due to high popularity of the remix it was released to digital outlets on September 3, 2009.
