2ne1 sizzled the computer screen and the charts alike with their official debut in form of the song rightfully entitled "Fire". Two videos were released, a 'space' version, and a 'street' version. Both videos exceeded 1 million views in only a day, reaching 2 million almost just as quickly. A great feat for a newly debuting group. But the success was not only just in youtube views, their new-found popularity translated itself into topping all online and off-line charts. The groups name also became a top search term.

 2NE1 received their first Mutizen award after their fourth stage performance in SBS's Inkigayo (Popular Song) on June 14, 2009. They received their second Mutizen award on the same show on June 21, 2009.

[quick note: A mutizen is the award Inkigayo hands out on their show. its given to the artist who is at their #1 spot that week.If they win 3 times in a row for the song the artist gets a triple crown and then cant compete the next week.]

But the achievements were far from over.

The group was awarded three Cyworld Digital Music Awards; "Lollipop" and "Fire" both won "Song of the Month" award and the group won "Rookie of the Month" for May 2009.

The official videos and 2ne1's first preformance on SBS's Inkigayo was profiled by Perez Hilton on his blog, showing his growing interest in the new group.
