“What?!” Mr. Lee yelled,

Donghae walked out starting at his dad, it’s been almost 3 years since Alex went missing,

“Daegu? Alright” Mr. Lee said, writing something on a piece of paper,

“Dad, what happened?” Donghae asked,

"Something important" he replied,

"Like what?" Donghae asked seeing his father run into his room, packing clothes, then into the bathroom to get toothpaste and a toothbrush,

"Something that might change the way we live" he replied,

"Appa, what are you talking about?" Donghae asked puzzled

“I’ll be back in 2 days” he replied, running out towards his car.

Donghae stared at his father's car leaving the parking lot. He looked up at the ceiling, "What did he mean by something that changes the way we live?" he mumbled, he thought for a little bit, then his the palm of his hand with his fist, "Ah! Are we gonna get a computer?" Donghae smiled, but then frowned, "But why would it take 2 days to get a computer?" he thought, "Hmm.... Maybe it's because it's brand new and it's coming out..."

“21” Alex said,

“Ok, what’s the square root of Pi? Exactly?”

“1.772004514666935”

Alex was being taught math by Aunt Kim, while Ms. Brock was waiting at the door.

She looked out the window, it was finally winter.... The air was chilly, and the sky was somewhat dark

“I might lose her today”she thought, “I’m really going to miss her…” she sighed, she tightened her pony tail, and straightened  her long jean skirt. “Guess he’s not coming” she thought, and walked into the kitchen to prepare dinner.

Knock knock knock!

She gulped, “Could that be one of her parents?” she thought, she opened the door, and saw a man s few inches taller than her.

“H-hello” she bowed, “May I ask who you are?” she asked, while she was examining him, he was about 3 or 4 inches taller than her, he was a light tan, also had short black hair.

“I’m Alex Lee’s father” Mr. Lee said,

"Won't you come in?" she smiled, he walked in,

“I-is my daughter here?!” he asked her,

“Yes,”

“C-can you tell me about her? Just to make sure” he nervously stuttered,

“Well, what do you want me to tell you?” she asked him,

“Her hair color? Height? Eye color?” he said,

“She has dark brown hair, green eyes, and she’s 3’4” she started, “She loves persimmons like crazy” she smiled,

“How did you find her?” he asked,

“Well… I was going to go to the market, and I saw her crying. When I asked her what was wrong, she told me that her mother left her” she started, “When I asked her what her name was, at first she said, ‘Park Jee Sun’ but then she looked as if she was stuggling to remember something. When I asked her if she was known for something else, she told me ‘I think I was named Alex’ and I called her that since it was easier for me” she said, “but may I ask, what happened to her?”

Mr. Lee was hesitant to answer the last question.

“I’m sorry, I should be intruding” Miss. Brock said, “but it would help me a little bit because I’ve been wondering what happened to her” she continued. Mr. Lee was silent,

“I lost her 3 years ago… I just brought her to pre-school… and she just….” He started to cry, “She was kidnapped” he whimpered, “We looked for her for 2 years, then we lost hope of her living”

“I-I’m sorry” she stared at him, “U-um… She’s in that room” she pointed to a door

“If I walk in that room, will I see my daughter?” he asked her with hopeful eyes, she nodded,

“Alex, she’s such a wonderful blessing” Ms. Brock said, “She’s the cutest thing in the world,”

“So, what have you been teaching her here?” Mr. Lee asked, wiping off his tears

“About God, and things you learn at school, she has such an amazing brain! She’s already at a college level in academics!”

“Really?” Mr. Lee’s eyes widened, that’s better than any of his sons’!

“Yes sir! It almost amazes me! Why, we took an SAT book home, and she almost answered all the questions correctly!”

“How much did she miss?”

“Only 10 out of all the questions” she said,

“Wow” Mr. Lee said in amazement, “That’s my girl” he smiled

“Let’s go” Ms. Brock said, opening the door,

“Ok Alex, introduce yourself in Chinese” Aunt Kim said,

“Hello, My name is Alex Lee, I’m 7 years old turning 8 the next year” Alex said

 “Alex” she sang,

Alex turned her head, and ran to hug the older woman,

“Is my lesson over?” Alex clapped,

Mr. Lee stared at Alex, she had medium hight brown hair, with a light blue hair band, wearing a Jean skirt and brown T-shirt.

Is that really his daughter? That one that he lost years ago?

So many thoughts came into his head, but he couldn't help but smile. "My girl's so cute" he thought

“Ms. Brock, who’s this man?” Alex asked,

Reality stuck Mr. Lee….. His heart hurt so much…. His own blood, his own daughter didn’t even know him…

“This is your father” she smiled, Alex’s eyes widened, “He’s going to take you home”

“No! Ms. Brock! I don’t have a father!” Alex said,

“Now now Alex! This is your dad! He’s been looking for you for 3 years!”

“Ms Brock! I don’t wanna leave! I wanna stay here!” Alex said, with tears flowing out of her eyes, down to her chubby cheeks,

“Alex! Don’t be like this” she hugged Alex, “I’m going to miss you”

“No! Please no! I don’t wanna leave!” she cried,

Mr. Lee walked towards Alex, she backed away,

“Please mister! I don’t wanna leave!” she cried,

“Alex, please” Ms. Brock looked at her,

“No!” she yelled, with even more tears falling, “No! Ms. Brock! Please let me stay!”

“I’m sorry Alex…”

“I promise I won’t make you buy anything else for me! I’ll eat less! I’ll get a job! Please Ms. Brock! Don’t let me come with him!”

“Alex! Please!” Mr. Lee said, forcefully hugging the child,

“NOO! NONONONONONOO!” Alex screamed, “LET GO OF ME!” she yelled, kicking, and screaming,

“Alex, please listen to Mr. Lee ok? He won’t hurt you” Ms. Brock smiled,

“No! Ms. Brock, did you hate me?! Do you hate me so much to give me away?! Please don’t leave me!” Alex cried,

“Alex,” Ms. Brock said, Mr. Lee let her go, Alex quickly ran to hug Ms. Brock,

“Don’t let me go with this man” Alex whimpered, “Please don’t leave me!”

“Alex, this is for your own good!” Ms. Brock said, "Mr. Lee, her stuff is upstairs and packed, room 15"

"Alright" he said and walked away

“NO!” She screamed, “I wanna stay with Ms. Brock!”

“Alex, I love you, but-”

“If you loved me, than why are you doing this to me?!” she cried, “WAE!?”

“I’m sorry, but these are your parents that God gave you” Ms. Brock patted her head,

“No… No!” Alex screamed, Ms. Brock held her, and carried her to the car, “NOO!” Alex screamed louder,

Mr. Lee put Alex’s things into the car, and drove her back into their home. He got into the car, and placed Alex’s white bear (That had blue and brown clothing), and blue blanket in the back seat with her.

Mr. Lee started driving, but it broke his heart when he heard his daughter kicking and screaming,

“NO! TAKE ME BACK! MISTER! PLEASE TAKE ME BACK!” then, “WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME?! DO YOU HATE ME?!”

Mr. Lee just drove silently,

“I HATE YOU! TAKE ME BACK!” Alex yelled, Mr. Lee stopped the car, and turned around to look at the crying girl

“Alex, I love you, I’ve been looking for you for 3 years… Don’t you know it breaks my heart to see you like this?” he said sounding teary,

“Take me back mister! Take me back” she cried

“Alex!” Mr. Lee said staring at his own daughter,

“Please….” She sniffed, “Please….”

“Alex, I finally found you… I don’t want to-” he said, and started to drive again

“If you really are my real dad, then why did you leave me?!” she yelled,

The older man’s heart felt like it stopped…

“Alex….”

“Why?! You should know you’re not my real father! Nor will you ever be! I only had a terrible mother who left me! That’s it!” she cried,

“Alex…”

Alex had almost barely no memory of what her past was since she was too young to remember… All she remembered was the person who kidnapped her who she called her “Mother”…

 “Mister! I only had a mother who was a mad woman! Mister, she hated me! Ms. Brock was kind to me” Alex sniffed, “Pwease take me back!” she cried

“Alex, I’m your dad. Appa, call me that” Mr. Lee said,

“MISTER, please take me back!” Alex repeated herself,

Mr. Lee kept on driving with Alex crying in the back.

Alex, wrapping the blue blanket around her tiny body. Shivering, scared to death. She hugged her bear tighter, praying to God,

“God… Please take me back to Ms. Brock”

However…. Her prayer wasn't answered,

"Alex, let's go to sleep at a nice place ok?" he smiled at her, she glared at him,

"I'd rather die then stay with you!" she said,

"Alex, why are you like this?" he asked, 

"It's because you took me away from the only person that loved me!" she said,

Mr. Lee sighed, and drove his car to an Inn,

He walked in with his daughter, and stared at her...

"I guess she won't believe me when I say that I'm her father.... I guess it'd be better not to say it or else she's reject it even more..." he thought, 

"Geh Teuk, are you ok?" (Geh means dog in korean) he asked her doggy whom she wrapped around in a blue blanket, hugging it close to her as if it were a baby

"Geh Teuk? Why is his name Geh Teuk?" Mr. Lee asked, she looked at him,

"Because Leeteuk means special in Korean, but then I kept on saying 'Teukie' instead, and it'd be shorter to call him 'Geh Teuk' rather than 'Geh Teukie'" she said, 

"Ah~ I see" he smiled at her, she looked away, hugging her dog even tighter,

"It's ok Teukie, we'll be back soon.... We'll go back to Ms. Brock one day..." she whispered, quiet enough for Mr. Lee not to hear,

"We're here, room 132" he said (A/N add a + sign in between the number ;P) and opened the door.

Alex looked around, and walked up to the bed and sat on it.

"Geh Teuk, isn't this bed comfy?" she asked her dog while rolling around on the bed,

"Glad you like it" Mr. Lee said, and put down Alex's suitcase, and opened it up,

"Ahjushi! What are you doing?" she looked at him,

"You're changing clothes, you can't possible sleep with that on right?" he asked her, "Ah, this is so cute" he smiled pulling out a pink and white dotted pajama outfit,

"Ahjushi, it's fine, I can sleep with this" she said,

"No you can't! Now change" he said, giving the clothes to her,

"Ahjushi!" she said, and nervously looked down, 

Mr. Lee stared at her, "Ah!" he said, "You don't know how to change clothes!" 

She glared at him, "I do! It's just a headache doing it!"

"Ah, don't worry! Appa will do it for you" he said, "But, why don't you take a bath? I'll get the water ready for you" he smiled, and walked into the bathroom, and started the water. He put in soap, "Alex" he said, no reply. He walked out, and held Alex's wrist, and dragged her into the bathroom, "Don't worry, appa won't hurt you" he smiled, giving her his best charm, a trustworthy smile.

Alex was hesitant. She didn't know the man at all, but he was going to give her a bath? Mr. Lee started to take her shirt off, 

"Ahjushi, can i please do this part?" Alex asked, he smiled,

"Anything for my baby girl" he said patting her head, and looked away. 

Alex quickly took off her skirt, and jumped into the shower making a huge "PLUMP!". Mr. Lee turned around and started to wash Alex's hair. Tears started to form somehow.... It's been 3 years since he even did a simple task for his daughter....

"Ahjushi, why are you crying?" she looked at him, he shook his head,

"I use to wash my daughter's hair before she went missing" he tried to smile, "She use to go, 'appa! appa! I love you soo much!'" 

"A-ah~" she said,

When they were done, Alex grabbed a towel, and wrapped it around her body,

"Aigo, my little girl" he smiled and hugged her while she still had that towel on her, shaking her body for a little bit,

"Ahjushi" she said, still surprised by his actions,

"Alright, are you ready to get changed?" he asked, getting her pajamas,

"Just hurry" she said

"Ok" he laughed, and started to put her clothes on her. He smiled just looked at her, "If only I could have the time I lost with her" he thought, 

She quickly walked out, 

"Alex! Let me dry your hair" he said, getting the hotel's hairdryer,

"I'm fine like this" she said,

"I don't want my daughter to be sick!" he said, pulling her in the bathroom again, and lifted her body against the sink counter so she could sit it. He almost the blow dryer, but then he thought of something, "Q-tips!" he said, and looked around if the hotel for complementary cotton swabs. He found them, and started to clean Alex's ear,

"Ahjushi, it tickles" she giggled a little bit,

"Don't worry, just want my little girl to be clean" he said, she looked at him, 

"Ahjushi, I'll love you if you do one thing for me" she said, Mr. Lee's eyes opened,

"What would that be?" he asked her,

"Take me back to Mrs. Brock" she said, he sighed, grabbing the blow dryer, 

"No," he said turning it on,

She pouted a little, Ok, a lot

"Don't leave ok? Appa will be back soon" he smiled,

"Ahjushi" she said,

"What?" he looked at her, still smiling,

"Why do you want me? Do you know anything about me?" she asked him, he sighed,

"I know that I love you, and that you're with us now, ok?" he smiled at her,

"Ahjushi! Why do you keep calling yourself appa?"

"Because you're my daughter" 

"No I'm not" 

"Aish, don't worry, appa will come back soon to explain"  he smiled, and walked to the bathroom taking a shower.

Alex turned to her stuffed dog, "Teukie, do you want to watch TV?" she asked him, staring at the dog, "Flinstones?" she gave him a weird look, "Ah~ Don't worry! Dino's a dog!" then stared at Teukie again, "Aish, then how about Scooby doo than? Ok?" she smiled, then the TV, "Scooby-dooby do, where are you? We got some work to do now" she sang,

"Alex" Mr. Lee said, she turned around, and saw him dressed in a blue t-shirt and black sports pants,

"Aish, Ahjushi, I'm tired" she said, and hugged Teukie and jumped on the bed, to lie down,

"Ok, Ok" he smiled, and closed the TV, "go to sleep ok?" getting on the bed,

"Ahjushi, what do you think you're doing?" she asked him,

"I'm tired, so... Sleeping?"

"... I'm going to sleep on the couch" she said, 

"Ahh, Alex~ Just sleep here with your appa" he whined,

"Night" she roughly said, sounding really mad

“Honey, I’m home!” Mr. Lee called, Mrs. Lee ran out,

“Was that really Alex?!” she asked, he smiled and nodded, showing her the little 7 year old girl, “My little girl!” Mrs. Lee sang, and hugged her,

“Wait till the boys hear this!” Mr. Lee said,

“They’ll be home soon!” she clapped, “Alex, would you like anything to eat?” Mrs. Lee asked, Alex stood silent, shaking her head, hugging Teukie  and her blanket tighter, “Ok, we’ll, he’ll show you to your room ok?” she smiled, Alex didn’t show any emotion, but nodded. Mrs. Lee gave her husband a worried look, her husband mouthed, “Don’t worry” to her.

“This is… my bed?” Alex said without any emotion,

“Yeah, sorry it’s plain, but this is the best we can do in so little” Mrs. Lee smiled at her, but she didn’t return the smile back, “I’ll leave you to your packing” she smiled, and walked out,

~1 hour later~

“Mom, I’m home” Donghae sighed,

“Donghae! Donghae! Good news! No, AMAZING NEWS!” Mrs. Lee sang,

“What is it mom?” he stared at her,

“Alex!” she smiled,

“W…What about her?!”

“Go into her room! She’s alive!”  Mrs. Lee clapped,

“WHAT?!” Donghae yelled, he dropped his bag, and ran into Alex’s old room, he saw the back of the girl,  “A-Alex?!” Donghae asked, the little girl slowly turned her head, and stared at Donghae, Donghae felt as if tears were forming, he ran and hugged his sister, “My little sister” he cried, hugging her tightly, “I promise! Oppa won’t let you get hurt again! Oppa will take care of you!” Donghae cried, with tears running down his cheeks. His sister…. His sister, the one that he missed, the one he wanted back, the one he wanted to apologize to, “I’m so sorry that I couldn’t-”

“Let go”Alex sternly said, Donghae slowly let go of her and stared at his sister,

“W-what?” he looked at her,

“I don’t know who you are, so please don’t come near me” she bluntly said,

Donghae’s heart sank, Was this really his little sister? The one that he saw 3 years ago that simply asked him to push him on the swing? The one that said “Donghae, do you love me?”?

“Alex, I’m your brother” Donghae stared at her,

“I don’t have one, leave me alone” she muttered,

His heart felt like it was stabbed… The sister that he once thought was dead… is now alive… The sister that called him her most loved brother is saying that she doesn’t have one…

Donghae hugged her again, “Alex, I’m sorry for leaving you, I’m sorry” he whimpered,

“LET GO!” she pushed him away, and glared at him, “DON’T YOU GET IT?! I DON’T BELONG IN THIS PLACE!”

“Alex, you use to live here! You use to be here with us!”

“If I really was, then why do you people want me back?! Why did you people leave me at first?! Why was I living with some mad woman before she left me at the foster home?! Admit it! If you people were really my so called family YOU WOULDN’T HAVE LEFT ME IN THE FIRST PLACE!” she yelled,

“We never lost you! You were taken away from us!” Donghae yelled starting to cry,

“Then why?! Why didn’t you try to find me?!” she cried, “I was scared with that crazy woman! I’m only happy that she left me at the foster home!”

“Alex!” Donghae yelled,

“I hate you! LEAVE ME ALONE!” she yelled, pushing him,

“Alex! Why do you hate me?! What did I do?!”

“I HATE YOU BECAUSE OF WHO YOU ARE OK?!” she screamed, “I HATE IT HOW YOU PEOPLE TOOK ME AWAY FROM MY HOME! FROM THE PEOPLE I LOVE THE MOST!”

“What’s wrong about living with the people that love you the most in the world?” Donghae stared at her,

“Love?! Don’t joke around with me! If you truly loved me than why was I with some crazy woman?!  If you loved me why did you leave me if I was really your sister?! HUH?!” she glared at him,

“Alex! Why are you acting like this?! What happened to that sweet innocent little girl that I use to know?!”

“USE TO KNOW?! Mister, I don’t know you, nor will I EVER want to know you!” she yelled, “Get out!” she screamed,

“Alex, I’m your brother, and I’ll always love you ok?!” he said, tears forming, he ran up and hugged her, “Oppa will protect his sister, oppa won’t let anything hurt you again… Oppa promises” he said with tears falling, hugging her tighter,

“Don’t lie” she said,

"What's going on here?" Mr. Lee asked,

"Appa, is this really Alex?" Donghae asked,

"Ahjushi, why are you insisting that I stay here?" Alex asked,

"Ah, w-we adopted you right?" he asked her, "Donghae, go outside, I'm going to talk to your sister" he said,

Donghae obeyed and walked out, closing the door behind him. Tears started to form... Was this really his sister that he lost so long ago?

"That's it... I've been a bad brother for so long... I'm not going to lose her this time" he mumbled to himself

(End of flashback)

(Donghae POV)

Tears started to flow down my cheeks again…

“Alex… I don’t wanna lose you again…”  I said, hugging the picture of us two,

I looked around more, wiping away my tears, and looked around for more things about Alex,

I opened her drawer and found a note for me, that said “To Donghae” I opened the note up and started to read it,

“If you’re reading this, then that means you invaded my room…. Anyway, I’m in China right now, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you, but don’t worry! I’m with Heechul! I don’t know what to say right now… other than… Sorry…. But you can date anyone you want ok? As long as you’re not over protective with me ok? I love you!!
