“I like you”

Nara stood there motionless as he said those three simple words aloud. The city noise around them suddenly seemed to be block away, leaving them in silence.

“I’m sorry”

His eyes slowly became confused and hurt at the same time. Nara adjusted her handbag on her shoulder and turned to leave. The view of her back facing him made him even more hurt inside. Refusing to be a coward, he chased right after her. Nara was grabbed by the elbow and he pulled her around to lock eyes with him.

“Why? What is it about me that you’re not satisfied with?”

Nara averted from his eyes to his hand and lightly brushed it off her elbow as he let go.

“Everything about you is perfect, but let me tell you something. I…hate guys who easily say that they like a woman. I find that those who do don’t last long together”

A frown came across his face as he can’t comprehend with what she was trying to say.

“I’m really thankful that you have those kinds of feelings for me, but I think someone else deserves it better than I do” she said.

For the second time, she turned to go, but was stopped when he bravely spoke up.

“I’m not giving up on you”

Nara turned her eyes toward him who had a serious expression on him. His hands were clenching tight into fists and his eyes were bold.

“No matter what you said, I definitely won’t give up. I’m not the kind of man who you can easily compare to with those other man you’ve met before in the past”

An amused smile smeared her lips and she tilted her head a bit, her bangs hiding her left eye.

“All right. If you really have that much confidence in yourself, then I'll give you a chance”

He appeared a bit eased with her response as he exhaled. Nara folded her arms over her chest and looked at him straightly in the eyes.

“Learn to hate me first. When you do, I’ll reconsider what you had said to me today”

“What?” he said.
