CHAPTER 018: Frowns And Minseok     School is finally over. God bless.   Kris is annoyed that he has to take the public bus. He thought since your mother dropped you both off to school in the morning, she would also pick you up from school to take you two home.         "Why can't she pick us up? Public busses freak me out," Kris says.   You don't face him and continue walking, Kris two steps behind.        "She doesn't get out from work until late at night," You answer, "Don't complain. At least she can take us to school."   But not pick us up, Kris thinks with a frown.   You guys reach the bus stop and he sits down while you decide to stand and wait.   Kris sends a couple of glances your way. He thinks you're still mad, which on usual occasions would please him, but not always. He likes to argue with you but he also wants you to be able to hold a conversation with him on certain times. Like now, for example.    You two are the only ones on the bus stop right now, which makes everything even more awkward. Kris notices, and you are not oblivious to it either.    He tries to think of a way to make conversation in the silence.    Pfft, since when have you guys had awkward silence? How awkward.   He looks your way and he's analyzing you. Your skirt is too short, he thinks. Your legs are on display and he glares at them, as if his stare would magically make the skirt longer. You have nice legs, he thinks. A frown rises on his face because your legs are very thick and he wonders how many guys or girls have looked at your legs.   Oh! And your , too!   It's weird why he gets sort of annoyed at this. Why can't you wear jeans or sweatpants under your skirt. Why are girls even allowed to wear skirts with so many erts around? It's dangerous.    You're in danger.   He looks around the bus stop and there are a couple of people passing by every minute, yet they never stop at the bus stop. Just continue walking.   It's obvious they glance at you when they pass by. Both boys and girls and Kris is annoyed because he really wants to blame  it on your skirt, but he knows it's the fault of all the erts who can't stop staring. s, he thinks. They don't even try to hide it-  eyes wander a little too long on your legs.        "Hana," he calls out to you. You turn to look at him, a scowl on your face.       "What?"       "Sit down," he pats the empty space next to him on the bench.    You give him a funny look. He wants something, you think, "Why?"   Kris shrugs, "Just sit down, Kid."       "Why?" You say again. You're gonna sit down, you know it. Your legs are getting tired.  But you still want to know why he's trying to convince you. Does he want you next to him? Is he gonna officially apologize for what he said earlier by comparing you to Yuri? Is he gonna call you pretty again?        "I'll tell you when you sit down," he says. You don't say anything to that and just walk towards the bench and plant your down.   You look at Kris, "What is it?"   Kris shrugs and leans back, "Your skirt is too short."   You want to punch him in the mouth, "So? Does it bother you? Am I suppose to care if it bothers you?"       "Calm down," Kris says with an eye roll, "I'm not judging you or anything so calm your . It's just that people are staring and I don't like it."   You miss the meaning behind the last words, "So? As long as they don't touch me. You're kind of possessive and you're not even my friend."    Kris scoffs, "Not your friend? Sure. But I'm an acquaintance and you are still under my care at the moment since I am the dominant male in this relationship."        "Dominant male? You're kidding, right?" You frown and a second later add, "And what relationship?"        "As an acquaintance, of course," Kris replies.   You roll your eyes and you're pushing yourself up when Kris pulls you back down.        "erts are staring at your legs!" He hisses, "It's disgusting."   You sigh, "We live in a ed up society. What do you expect?"       "Fine! Go!" He pushes you off the bench.   You want to laugh for a second but instead you sit back down, "On second thought, I actually want to sit down."   Kris stares at you. You make everything so complicated for no reason.   But it's not like he cares. He thinks he's doing it for your own good. You should just listen to him instead of arguing like a brat. And since when has he lower his level to behaving like you?    Now that he thinks about it, hasn't he been too childish lately? He's never been a immature person in public but it seems like lately he has been laughing and running around like a three year old that wants to pick fight. More precisely, with you.        "Kris," you interrupt his train of thoughts. You're staring at him and you have your arms cross while you lean back on the bench.   Kris waits for you to speak with his head slightly tilted, "What?"    You clear your throat, "I'm not mad at you anymore."   Kris freezes. Really? You're not mad anymore?    He really thought you'd ignore him forever. He's not even sure why you were mad at him in the first place. He offends you so much that it's hard to know which insult hurt you for real.    You continue, "After you compared me to Yuri I was really angry and maybe I did take it to the heart. Maybe a little too much...."   Kris frowns at you. That's why you were mad? Because he compared you to that girl? Oh....        "But I am gonna take your stupid words as an apology," you say.   Kris faces you straight, "What stupid words?"       "What you said in the classroom," you say, "You told Eunsul and she told me. I'll take that as an apology."   Kris frowns again, a smile on his face a second after, "Really? I don't think what I said could be taken as an apology..."   You blush red even if you have a scowl, "I know but I'm still choosing to forgive you. Shouldn't you be grateful, Palm tree?"   Kris chuckles, "Why are you blushing?" He points out the obvious hue of red on your cheeks, then adds, "And how is me calling you stupid taken as an apology?"        "I'm not blushing-" You pause, "Wait, what?"   Kris yawns and stretches his arms and you are still staring at him in confusion.          "I told Eunsul to tell you that I said you were stupid," Kris says, "In the classroom, remember?"         "No, you didn't," you frown, "She told me that you told her to tell me that you think I looked pretty."   Kris thinks about your words for 0.4 seconds and then he gasps, "Oh my god. You thought I called you pretty?"   You nod your head slowly, a bit unsure about his reaction.   Kris' face form into a confuse one, "I told her to call you stupid, Not pretty! I would never say that! She probably added that to entertain herself." He gasps, "That evil lady!"   You follow his reaction, "I cannot believe she tricked me like that! She was suppose to be my friend!" You look at Kris with a disgusted look, "I can't believe I was gonna forgive you!"        "Seriously?," Kris looks at you, "It's too late for that. Let's move on from that and focus on the fact that Eunsul is a weirdo."        "She's not a weirdo!" You defend, "Sure, she's a bit odd but not classified as a weirdo. She just likes to play around, I guess. And I'm taking my apology back."   Kris crosses his arms and looks away from you, "You can't do that. No take backs."        "But you called me stupid, not pretty. And so, my feelings are still hurt, which means I still hate you more than I originally did, so I'm not on speaking terms with you."   Kris sighs, "Fine, fine." He thinks that maybe this will end your bickering since he finds you annoying but in reality, he doesn't want you to be mad at him. "I'm sorry about what I said earlier. Happy?"   You glare at him, "That's not good enough."        "It is!" Kris says in defends, "And you took me calling you pretty as an apology earlier, which is ridiculous. Why can't this be good enough? What I'm saying is an actually apology!"   You shake your head, "It has to be meaningful and descriptive."   Kris turns away from you while he thinks about his apology.       "What? You're not gonna do it?"         "I'm thinking about it!" He yells after your words.    You smirk.         "I'm sorry about comparing you to Yuri earlier. It was rude and I'm sorry, I guess. Would you forgive me?" He ends the question with an awkward long silence and you snort.       "Yeah, sure," you respond carelessly, "My anger vanished earlier anyway."   Kris scoffs and pushes you, while you almost fall off the bench.         "You're so jealous," Kris says after a while, "It's so stupid."   You face him with furrow brows, "Jealous of who?"       "Yuri, Duh."   You almost bite your tongue from the urge to defend yourself right away, "I am not!"      "You are," Kris says, "You're jealous because she's Chanyeol's girlfriend. If I had compare you to any other girl, that wasn't Yuri, you wouldn't have cared."   You face him, ready to give him some sense but you're surprised at how serious and irritated he looks.    You just look at him like a goldfish out of water.        "You hate Yuri because she's dating Chanyeol, Am I right?" He says, "Actually, it. You don't even need to confirm that, I know so already."   You open your mouth to speak but Kris cuts you off.       "It was so easy to put the pieces together. You like that guy, don't you? But he doesn't like you back?" He continues and you suddenly feel like crying because he's guessing the facts right and he's too close and he's invading your personal bubble and making you feel small when he shouldn't because Kris is no one to hurt you in any way. "What were you two, anyway? Friends? buddies? A bad hook up? Because if you guys were friends like you told me at the Ice cream shop, Then you wouldn't be ignoring him. And I get it, you said he was a friend that left you behind and so you decided to ignore him, but really, Hana? Is that all to it or you're just saying that?"   He waits. He looks like a mom waiting for a confession after giving their kid (you) a huge speech.    You're frowning at him and your eyes are glazed but you won't cry. He's just a curious jerk.    The bus is coming already. You see it from the corner of your eyes and that means that you can just ignore his words and get on the bus because he deserves no explanation.        "My personal life is none of your business," you say and stand up.   Kris's face doesn't change. He's frozen wondering why he cares so much in the first place. He says to himself that it's because he doesn't like Chanyeol at all. Which is kind of true.    Kris and you get on the bus and the subject is dropped immediately and replaced by glares and tense silence.   *I hate him.

Chapter 34: Started to read this story yesterday, must admit that it affected my night. Had a hard time sleeping, couldn't stop reading. You are a painter with words, just as in the story about April. Love your way to describe people, you make it possible to me to visualize everyone, even Nana and Papa. You are a great writer, keep up the good work.

Chapter 33: I could sing praises to Hana for how mature and calm she approached this subject with chanyeol. Let's be honest, this is HOW we wanted to act when we're in this kind of situation. Literally an ideal one. Hana you're amazing. I love her character.
