It takes Ryeowook a whole year to tell Kyuhyun he loves him.

He takes it slow, starting from the nose, in the library in December, before kissing his cheek in January and wrapping his hands around Kyuhyun’s neck in February. He sifts lazy fingertips through Kyuhyun’s hair in March, traces the scars on his chest in April, and savors the way Kyuhyun’s hands grip his hips in May. He admires Kyuhyun’s eyes in June and his thighs in July, bites his ears in August and tangles their feet together in September, kisses him for the millionth time in October, snuggles into his embrace in November.

December comes back around and “I love you” falls from Ryeowook’s lips as easily as the snow drifting through the winter night, and everything is perfect.
