New place, new me
From the top to the bottomOn the next day I didn't want to go to school. I would've rather skipped and took all the raging.
”Morning”, Jiho announced when I jumped in his car. This time the atmosphere was a bit more relaxed. We had crossed the awkwardness.
”Hi”, I replied. Jiho asked me how I was feeling today, and that after my last class I'd have to go straight to his car, to avoid situations like yesterday. I nodded in my thoughts. I did not feel very talkative today.
When we got to the school, I left Jiho without saying a word and walked my way to the school lobby. I swear I could hear a ”bye neighbour” before the door closed behind me. I looked around me. This time my eyes noticed all the details on the wall and the ceiling. There were real plants here and there, making everything look more ”down-to-earth”. They made the air smell fresh and clean, like I was outside, except it was way hotter than outside. The minute I stepped inside, I could feel the warm air running through my body. I sat on a chair, next to some guy who I didn't know. He looked a bit arrogant, but when he saw me, he winked at me. I quickly turned away and started looking around again. My eyes wondered all over the school lounge, until I saw Jackson. He was leaning against his locker, looking at his phone with an angry expression on his face. His brows were puckered together and his black hair was dripping wet, probably because it was pouring outside.
”Hey Miranda!” I heard a familiar voice. I turned my head away from Jackson and saw Bambam smiling at me from the other side of the lounge. He waved his hand as an order for me to go to him. I swallowed and acted like I hadn't noticed his invitation. I was scared of Jackson. I knew it now. I had never been really scared of anyone, until now. I was always on top of people, until now. I had faced someone who was on top of me. And I was at the bottom.
