Freedom

Description

Freedom of speech is one aspect that is heavily taken for granted by the modern human, but could you imagine your life without being able to speak your mind? Can you imagine living your life by standards imposed by the nation? And we're not speaking about the standards that modern society has implemented for the average, working citizen, but strict, straight-forward standards that have to be followed without altering them in any shape or form, going on a straight path that has been paved by the government. A way of life implemented by the nation that, if broken or drifted away from, could cost one their life.

It's probably hard to even imagine, but it is the life that nearly twenty-five million people must go through every day. A continuous struggle against a nation who had decided to abandon the most basic human rights. A nation that denies even the most obvious of offenses. A nation known as People's Democratic Republic of Korea.

Freedom” is a fictional story that portrays the life of a girl in her teenage years and her struggle with the daily life in a small village in North Korea and the thoughts and opinions that would simply be deemed as impure and would label her a traitor and would accuse her of crimes against the nation. A life that will be about to change as soon as she steps outside the border and makes her way towards the South and creates a rather unexpected bond.
