Decisions

I Couldn't Stay Away

The scent of lavish cologne and expensive liquor greet Kyungsoo as he walks into the room filled with businessmen. Kyungsoo was never fond of business parties but considering the fact that he was Jongin's secretary, he knew that he would be attending much more of these events in the future. Unlike Jongin, who was socializing with a group, Kyungsoo stands next to the buffet table filled with various appetizers and desserts, deciding whether he should grab a creme bulee or a tiramisu.

"The tiramisu's delicious." A voice says, causing Kyungsoo to be startled. The man forms a warm smile, before extending out his hand. "I'm Choi Minho."

"Do Kyungsoo." Kyungsoo replies, shaking his hand.

"Kyungsoo? Mr. Kim's secretary?" Minho questions, offering Kyungsoo a glass of wine to which Kyungsoo then accepts. When he sees Kyungsoo nod, Minho continues on with the conversation. "How is it working with him? I've heard plenty from past employees about his working habits."

"He's... great." Kyungsoo replies, looking lovingly towards Jongin.

"Really? That's quite different from the past statements I've heard about him." Minho smirks, sipping his drink. "I heard he's an . There were many rumors about how he fired everyone who entered his office one time."

"He's strict... but not that strict." Kyungsoo replies. "Jongin wouldn't do that."

"Seems like you must know alot about him."

Before Kyungsoo has a chance to speak, he feels hands resting on his waist. Startled, Kyungsoo looks up and sees Jongin with a stern look on his face. "Mr. Choi."

Smiling, Minho extends his hand out towards Jongin, who rejects his invitation for a handshake. Laughing slightly, Minho speaks. "It's been a while Mr. Kim. Isn't it a bit harsh rejecting my handshake like that? We are friends aren't we?"

"Mr. Choi, I don't like you. I hope the wine didn't get into your head that much that you forgot about my hatred towards you."

"That was a long time ago, Jongin." Minho replies, shrugging his shoulders with a wide grin. "I've changed. After living abroad, I guess I've changed for the better. If you're still upset over the fact-"

"I don't want to talk about it. I've already dismissed that matter a long time ago." Jongin replies, letting his grip on Kyungsoo's waist tighten. "I think it's best that you leave."

"Well then, it's been a pleasure..." Minho sighs, before turning his attention towards Kyungsoo. Minho reaches into his pockets and hands Kyungsoo a card. "I'd really love to talk to you again. This is my business card. Call me whenever you'd like. I hope to see you around soon, Kyungsoo."

"Bye." Kyungsoo says, waving his hands as he watches Minho leave.

Rolling his eyes, Jongin lowers Kyungsoo hand. "Don't wave! I don't like him, you're supposed to dislike the people that I dislike!"

"He seems fine."

"Fine?" Jongin scoffs, as he watches Kyungsoo nod his head. "Kyungsoo, he's an . Don't get to close to him either or else you'll be into his dark vortex of-"

"Why do you hate him so much?"

"I don't want to talk about it."

"Why not?"

"You wouldn't understand."

"But-"

"I don't want to talk about it. End of topic." Jongin announces, sighing as he pats the top of Kyungsoo's head. "It's getting late. I think we should leave. Wait for me in the car, I'll just say my goodbyes."

"Okay..."

-

"What are you doing here?" Luhan asks, a bit shocked to see Sehun standing in front of the apartment door. It's been a couple of days since the two had actually seen each other -probably due to the fact that Luhan's been avoiding Sehun every chance he gets. After the conversation with Kris, Luhan was still very uncertain whether he should stay or return to Japan and was hoping to ignore Sehun until he made a decision; But since Luhan couldn't avoid him right now, he instead leads Sehun inside of the apartment.

"I thought you had a shoot today-"

"It got cancelled." Sehun replies, making his way into the apartment with a plastic bag of Chinese takeout in his hand. "I heard you weren't feeling well so I wanted to check up on you. I brought you some food. Chinese takeout... your favorite."

Smiling, Luhan sets the dining table. "You know, you really didn't have to come all this way. I know you're busy and all... You could've just called-"

"I know, but I missed you." Sehun replies, creeping up behind Luhan to give him a back hug. "I haven't seen you in 2 days and you haven't been answering my calls so I got worried. Did I do something wrong? If I did then I'm-"

"No, I'm sorry. It's just that there's alot on my mind right now."

"You know, you can tell me anything right?"

Luhan nods his head. "Yeah..."

"About the conversation with Kris-"

"Sehun." Luhan warns, as he breaks the hug and makes his way to the table with two plates in his hands. Luhan places the plates down on the table before he speaks again. "I don't want to discuss this right now."

"Why not? I'm just curious what he called you in for." Sehun explains, taking a seat. "Because frankly, you've been acting differently since-"

"I told you it was nothing." Luhan sighs, pouring Sehun a glass of water.

"Luhan."

"Okay fine!" Luhan groans, knowing how persistent Sehun was going to be about the subject. "We talked about how my internship was ending soon and that if I wanted to stay... working there as a stylist then I could. I-"

"That's great!"

"Yeah... I-"

"I don't see why you find that a problem. That's amazing!" Sehun says, happily. Of course, he was happy knowing that Luhan would stay beside him as his stylist all the time now. Besides that would allow them to spend more time together. "Why don't you look happy, Lu? You're already guaranteed a job-"

"Sehun, that's the problem." Luhan sighs, knowing that what he's about to say might hurt Sehun. "I haven't decided what I wanted to do yet."

"You're thinking of going back?" Sehun questions, furrowing his eyebrows after hearing Luhan's statement. Sehun was confused. Luhan was already guaranteed a spot to stay as a stylist for the company so why was Luhan opting to return back to Japan?

"It was just a thought-"

"A thought?" Sehun shakes his head, feeling slightly annoyed. "Luhan, you left to go to Japan without even telling me before. And now, you're still making decisions without confronting me-"

"And I apologized because of that. Besides, I'm telling you now aren't I?"

"That's not the point!"

"Sehun-"

"You've been acting strange lately. You haven't wanted to hang out with me since... since you talked to Kris a couple weeks ago." Sehun responds, looking slightly worried. "Luhan, what did you guys talk about?"

Luhan sighs. "I told you already... He just told me whether I wanted to stay or not... And I said that I would think about it."

"There's more that you're not telling me-"

"There's not." Luhan states. He didn't want to tell Sehun that he was thinking of returning to Japan just to protect Sehun's career.

"You paused." Sehun says, pointing an accusing finger at Luhan. "You're lying."

"Damn it Sehun! I'm not lying." Luhan shouts, in frustration. "If you're upset over the fact that I'm considering to return to Japan then-"

"I'm not upset over that! I'm mad because you always make decisions without confronting me. This relationship isn't all about you and your damn opinion in things. Did you even consider what I would think? How I would react?"

"Well certainly not like this-"

"Then how? You didn't expect me to be happy and smile over the fact that your leaving right? If you go back then what about us?" Sehun asks, running his fingers through his hair, in frustration. It was no use. Luhan was going to do whatever the hell he wanted. "How are we supposed to date?"

"Whats the point, Sehun? It's not like we could date here anyways. The media's probably going to be there to take pictures of it. If we step foot outside together right now, your career's over... You're fans and there opinions are always going to be more important than me."

"That's not true."

"It is." Luhan sighs, in defeat. "Your fans want to see their idol dating someone worthy of their love... not some unknown person, who frankly doesn't even know what he wants to do with his life."

"What are you trying to say?"

Luhan takes a deep breath before lowering his head. "You're just starting off with your career. You can't afford getting caught on a secret date with... with a nobody-"

"Luhan-"

"I know, I'm selfish." Luhan interrupts, suddenly. "But I came back here for my career. I came to train to become a designer. I didn't come back to become a stylist for my ex- I mean, boyfriend and do completely nothing except check if his hair and makeup was done correctly or make out with him secretly everytime he finishes a scene. Staying here with you is great but I don't want to one day regret not following my dreams..."

"Luhan-"

"I need to go out and explore." Luhan continues. "Don't you get it Sehun, If I stay here. How am I ever going to gain experience? I don't want to feel tied up here as a stylist. I want to live freely... I want design and if I stay here-"

"I understand." Sehun replies, pulling Luhan close to him until Luhan's head was on top of his chest. Letting his fingers run down through Luhan's hair, Sehun presses a soft kiss on top of Luhan's head. Sehun sighs and tightens his grip on Luhan, before he begins to speak. "How long?"

"For?"

"How long will this exploring take? You should at least tell me how long I should be waiting for you-"

"You're going to wait for me?" Luhan asks, as he looks up at Sehun.

Nodding, Sehun ruffles Luhan's hair. "Isn't that a given? It's not like I was planning to end this relationship with you... even if you were going to leave me again, I would still wait for you until you returned back to me... Just don't make me wait too long."

"I'd understand if you get tired of waiting for me and find someone else in the future... I won't hate you or blame you either." Luhan replies, burying his head under Sehun's chest. "It's not easy to wait when you're surrounded by beautiful people all the time."

"You really do know how to ruin the mood. Who would cheat on someone so beautiful?" Sehun replies, making Luhan face him. Leaning down, Sehun pressing a loving kiss on top of Luhan's. "Even if I'm surrounded by gorgeous actresses everyday... My eyes only look for you."

"You're the only one I want to be with." Sehun says lovingly as he gazes into Luhan's eyes. As much as he didn't want Luhan to leave, Sehun knew that being a designer was important to Luhan. In the past, Luhan was always there to support Sehun... maybe now it was Sehun's turn to do the same.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

-

Once the elevator stops, Kyungsoo gets off and steps foot on the lobby of the company building. Since it was nearing lunch time, most of the employees had already left to grab lunch together. It was unusual for Kyungsoo to be having lunch alone but since Jongin was in an important business meeting at the moment, Jongin told Kyungsoo not to wait up for him.

"Kyungsoo!"

Turning around, Kyungsoo sees Minho walking towards him with a wide smile on his face. Smiling, Kyungsoo speaks. "What are you doing here?"

"I came to talk to Jongin but an employee said that he's in a meeting right now so he can't talk." Minho replies, sighing. "I thought he just didn't want to talk to me but considering the fact that you're here alone... I guess he must really be having meeting."

Kyungsoo nods. "Yeah... He told me not to wait up for him today and have lunch alone-"

"If you don't mind, I'd love to join you. I haven't had lunch yet either..."

"Sure... I'd like that."

"Great! I know this restaurant just across the street..."

It takes only a couple of minutes for the two to reach the restaurant since it was close to the company building. From the looks of it, the restaurant seemed very expensive. Kyungsoo should have felt somewhat familiar to the atmosphere after going to tons of lavish restaurants with Jongin but Kyungsoo always felt displaced when eating at a high end restaurant. Once the waiter leaves with their orders, Kyungsoo takes a sip of his drink before he suddenly starts a conversation. "About Jongin-"

"Are you curious about our relationship?" Minho questions, as Kyungsoo hesitantly nods his head. "Well, for starters... He doesn't like me."

"Why is that?"

"Back then, Jongin was dating a really close friend of mine. He was only 21 and already had a multi-million dollar company...My family was rich too but we were on the verge of bankruptcy... so naturally I became jealous of him. He had the perfect life... I'm sure he's told you about his ex-boyfriend right? It's the main reason why he hates me."

Kyungsoo shakes his head. "He has once but hasn't mentioned him in full detail. I don't even know his name-"

"His name was Taemin. Lee Taemin." Minho states. "He was tall and very charming... He came from a very wealthy family and Jongin really, really liked him. They dated for 2 years until Jongin found out that Taemin was cheating on him... with me."

"That was my ex-boyfriend. We were together for 2 years and then he cheated on me with another close friend of mine."

"Of course, I was the one at fault." Minho confesses. "I only wanted Taemin to get close information about Jongin... I didn't have feelings or anything for Taemin. It was just simply for pleasure and revenge... so when I had Taemin's trust, I asked about Jongin's company secrets... I acquired them and put them on the news. Back then, I wanted to sabotage Jongin... I wanted his company to fail. But when I realized that Taemin really did love Jongin, I regretted it. He wouldn't stop crying for 3 days straight..."

"What happened to him after?"

"Taemin? He went abroad and studied... I occasionally visit him when I'm there."

"I can understand why Jongin doesn't want you near me." Minho smiles slightly. "He still hates me for what I did... and frankly I hate my past self as well but I want to apologize to him. I changed, Kyungsoo. I matured. I just want to prove to him that I'm not an ... at least, not anymore. I just wish he gave me the chance."

-

"Have you seen Kyungsoo?" Jongin asks, as he walks inside of Suho's office. "He hasn't been answering my calls... I've been trying to call him since I finished my meeting."

Nodding, Suho continues reading the document in his hands. "I saw him with some guy today... I think it was Minho-"

Raising an eyebrow, Jongin shakes his head in response. "Minho? I doubt it... why would he come here? Besides how could you be so sure it was really him? You haven't seen him in years..."

"Look Jongin, if you don't believe me then fine. You can leave. I'm too busy right now to talk about your relationship problems or how your boyfriend might have just went to lunch with your nemesis-"

"When did you become so god damn moody?" Jongin replies, crossing his arms. "I was just-"

"Mr. Kim!" An employee interrupts, as she rushes over towards Jongin's side. From her appearance, Jongin could tell something was wrong. Panting, she composes herself and hands Jongin a pile of documents along with some blueprints. "There's been a problem."

Furrowing his eyebrows, Jongin turns to Suho, who also has a confused look on his face. "What's the matter?"

 -

Upon entering the building, Kyungsoo watches as a flood of paparazzi run towards him. Blinded by the sudden flash of light coming from the cameras, Kyungsoo lowers his head. He ignores the microphones nearing his face and silently enters the building in confusion. Everything was normal before he left... what happened that caused such a ruckus?

"Did you tell him?" Jongin questions, once he sees Kyungsoo entering the office.

Looking up, Kyungsoo is met with Jongin's angered expression. "Tell who what?"

"The leak... was it you?" Jongin questions, looking somewhat hesitant to ask.

Raising an eyebrow, Kyungsoo speaks. "Jongin... I don't understand."

"You met up with Minho today right?" Jongin asks, crossing his arms as he watches Kyungsoo nod slightly. "Well coincidentally, right after you came back from your little lunch, news broke out about blueprints for the new hotel building! People could steal our idea Kyungsoo! Do you have any idea what you just did?"

"So you think I did it?"

Silence.

"You think I'm the leak?" Kyungsoo scoffs, looking genuinely hurt. "Do you not even care what I have to say? Yes, I talked to him but I didn't tell him anything about the blueprints! Hell, I don't even understand what half of those drawings even mean-"

"Well what am I supposed to expect?" Jongin raises his voice, as he runs his fingers through his hair in frustration. "You met up with him of god's sake! Even when I told you to stay away from him!"

"Oh my god, Jongin! He came here!" Kyungsoo replies, throwing his hands in frustration. "He came here to talk to you... but you weren't here because of your long meeting. We had lunch together to discuss some things, he never even asked about those blueprints!"

"If you wanted answers so bad, you should've just asked me-"

"You wouldn't have answered me!" Kyungsoo replies, annoyed over the whole situation. He was still hurt that Jongin would accuse him of such a wrong doing. "I've asked you multiple times why you despised him so much, but you always say that 'I wouldn't understand'... Well, of course I wouldn't, If you don't tell me anything!"

"So you're taking his side now?"

"I'm not taking anyone's side. What happened in the past should remain in the past." Kyungsoo replies, sighing. "Minho's changed. He came here to apologize, maybe you should-"

"No, I'm not going to do anything." Jongin responds, rolling his eyes. "Kyungsoo, he's an . He's not going to change."

"He's not an ! In fact, the way your acting right now..." Kyungsoo shakes his head, completely annoyed. "Maybe.... maybe, you're the ."

"You know what?" Jongin scoffs, in frustration. He couldn't believe what Kyungsoo was saying. How could he be taking Minho's side instead of him? "Maybe you should date him instead since I'm such an ."

Kyungsoo scoffs, in disbelief before he replies. "Maybe I should..."

Jongin sighs, as he places a head over his forehead. Jongin didn't mean what he said, he was just so stressed and frustrated that he took out all his anger on Kyungsoo. "Kyungsoo... I didn't-"

"You're under alot of stress right now. I understand that. But if we don't have trust in each other then what's the point of our relationship, Jongin?" Kyungsoo questions. "Maybe we just need some time apart... to think and just spend time by ourselves."

This was it.

The dreadful wedding day. The day that Chanyeol just wanted to avoid as much as possible was finally here and was about to take place in less than 5 minutes. Standing beside the alter with Lay, Chanyeol can't help but feel a numerous amount of emotions... but one emotion he didn't feel was joy. How could he be happy when he's about to get married to someone he didn't even love?

Weddings were supposed to be beautiful, happy, and upliftings. But not for Chanyeol.

"We are gathered here today, on this beautiful afternoon, to witness the everlasting love of Park Chanyeol and Zhang Yixing."

As the priest continues on, Chanyeol feels his stomach churning -probably due to the alcohol he consumed the following night before. Today, Chanyeol woke up sober. Thank god... but he did feel quite different this morning. Instead of listening to the priest, Chanyeol begins to drift off into his own thinking.

"Chanyeol, do you take Yixing for your lawful husband, to have and to hold, from this day forwards, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"

"I... I." Chanyeol gulps, before turning his head to face his parents, who both have a confused look on both of their faces. Chanyeol watches, as his father nods his head, as a signal for Chanyeol to respond. Now, there was nothing else Chanyeol could do except to respond. "I do."

The priest then turns his attention to Lay. "Yixing, do you take..."

"I don't."

"Then by the power of the- wait... umm."

Turning around, Lay turns and faces the confused, stunned crowd, who had gathered to witness their wedding ceremony. "I'm sorry but I can't do it! I can't marry an alcoholic!"

Chanyeol blinks, feeling somewhat upset about the fact that he was called an alcoholic. Chanyeol was about to respond when Lay suddenly exits the church and heads towards the garden. Turning around, Chanyeol bows to the guests, before he to makes his way out of the church.

Raising an eyebrow, Chanyeol approaches Lay, who watches the fishes swimming around in the pond. "Really? An alcoholic?"

"You should just be thankful that I cancelled the wedding." Lay giggles, turning around to face Chanyeol.

"Why are you doing this? I thought-"

"I knew that you didn't want to marry me." Lay confesses, laughing softly at himself. "Even though I knew that, I still had hope that maybe after we got to know each other more then you might grow feelings for me... but in the end you didn't. You love someone else, Chanyeol. I can't change that."

"I still-"

Smiling slightly, Lay takes his engagement ring off of his ring finger and returns it back to Chanyeol. "When we we're kids, you gave me your chocolate so that I would stop crying, even though you didn't want to. Now it's my turn. I really did want to marry you Chanyeol, but if it'll make you stop crying over Baekhyun then I'll let you go."

"How did you know about that?" Chanyeol questions, a little bit confused because he was sure that he had never mentioned Baekhyun's name before. Unless... "Oh my god. Was I that drunk?"

Giggling, Lay nods his head. "It was such a pitiful sight."

"But actually, I met him a while ago." Lay confesses which also attracts Chanyeol's attention. "I went to his bakery to order some cupcakes because I heard that they were your favorite. I didn't know that you two were going out... He seemed really happy talking about you though."

"Yeah but now he thinks I'm an ."

"He might think you're an right now, but trust me if he loved you before then there's a huge possibility that he stills love you." Lay replies, putting a hand on Chanyeol's shoulder to comfort him. "You should go look for Baekhyun. Don't give up."

"Thanks, Lay." Chanyeol responds, pulling Lay into a friendly warm hug. "I really mean it. Thank you and I'm sorry for everything."

In most books that the ty people don't get happy endings in the end, but Park Chanyeol was going to ing make sure that he got a happy ending.

A/N: It's coming to an end... The next chapters are going to be sort of different because all of the couples will have their own chapters about what happened "2 years later.."
