I Couldn't Stay Away

Leaving Hawaii was depressing. Kyungsoo didn't want to leave. There were still so much that he had wanted to do and experience, but since there were still some complications at work, the vacation was cut short. Jongin, however, did promise Kyungsoo that they would be able to go back in the future and sealed their promise with a quick peck before heading inside of the aircraft.

The flight back home took a while and once they had finally arrived, Kyungsoo was tired. Particially because Kyungsoo was too pre-occupied watching a movie instead of taking a nap like Jongin had suggested. Grabbing their baggage from the overhead cabinet, Kyungsoo lets out a yawn before he speaks. "So you have another meeting today? What time are we-"

Nodding, Jongin grabs Kyungsoo's carry-on backpack and slings it over his shoulders. "You don't have to come. You're too tired. Just stay home and rest."

Kyungsoo furrows his eyebrows, before following Jongin out of the plane. "But it's my job. I still have a duty to do-"

Sighing, Jongin interwines their hands together  before he speaks. "You're duty right now is to follow my orders. You just came back from Hawaii and there's a huge time difference. I'm just worried about your health that's all."

"What about you?" Kyungsoo snorts with a slght of worriedness in his tone. "You just came back too. Maybe you should take your own advice and-"

"I've done this before. I practically do this everyday, love." Jongin replies, letting his grip on Kyungsoo's hand tighten while his other hand called out for a taxi. "But thanks for worrying about me. At least I know for sure now that you care about me."

"You baby me too much. But fine, since I'm tired as , I'll go home and sleep" Kyungsoo replies, placing his luggages inside of the taxi. Kyungsoo then places a sweet peck on top of Jongin's lips, suprising Jongin -although it wasn't a bad thing. "Don't stay up too late!"

Jongin swoops in and places another kiss on top of Kyungsoo's lip. "Text me when you get home. Promise me."

"It's like you're obssessed with me. But what can I say? I am irresitable." Kyungsoo lets out a laugh, before he steps inside of the taxi. "I'll call you when I get home. I promise. See you later."

Normal grooms sleep early the night before their weddings. But not in Chanyeol.

Instead, Chanyeol chose to spend the night at a nearby bar- completely drunk as he drowned his thoughts with another bottle of beer. For someone as sophisticated as him, it would be a shock for someone who walked in on him like this. It was an embarrassing sight to see, especially for someone who was about to get married the following morning. It would be a miracle if he even woke up feeling sober tomorrow.

Oh, the embarrassment, Chanyeol would feel.

Reaching into his pockets, Chanyeol grabs his phone and attempts to call a certain someone, who was the reason to all of his endless drinking. It takes a couple of rings before Chanyeol hears the usual, "We're sorry; you have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service-"

Groaning, Chanyeol stuffs his cell phone back into his pockets, feeling somewhat hopeless. It wasn't Chanyeol's intentions to hurt Baekhyun like that but in the end he ended up doing it anyways and now Chanyeol felt horrible. Why was his life so messed up? Losing his child and his boyfriend both on the same day...all because of his stupid decisions. Now here he was, in China (where the wedding was being held) getting drunk over the fact that he just lost Baekhyun possibly forever.

And all for what? His parent's happiness?

Baekhyun was right about Chanyeol wanting to please his parents though. Heck, he's always wanted to please his parents. From earning high marks on his exams in both his highschool and college years to becoming the company's youngest CEO at the age of 20. Chanyeol did everything just to meet his parent's expectations and even sacrificed his time and effort in order to reach those goals. But now what about his own happiness? Was he going to abandon that too?

Just how much was Chanyeol supposed to sacrifice to keep his parents happy?

"Chanyeol, wake up." Chanyeol hears, as someone gently shakes him to wake him up from his deep slumber. "It's almost midnight, let's get you back to your hotel. Just wake-"

Raising his head from the bar table, Chanyeol turns towards the figure and sees Lay's worried expression. Chanyeol gives him an annoyed look. "What do you want? Are you here because my parents asked you to get me? Or do you want to have a drink too?"

"No." Lay replies, rejecting the glass of rum Chanyeol was handing him.

"Such a buzz kill." Chanyeol scoffs, before drinking the glass in one shot despite Lay's complaints. When he finishes, Chanyeol's face turns sour from the bitterness. "If... if Baekhyun was here, he'd definitely have a drink with me... But you know. He's kind of pregnant so he can't... Well, before. He's not anymore- Argh, I feel like I'm about to throw up."

"Baekhyun?" Lay repeats the name and finding it offly familiar. Where had he heard that name before? It was on the tip of his tongue but was somehow he was unable to remember. "Give me your phone. Mine died after someone called me and told me you were here. Let's call someone and get out of here."

Chanyeol furrows his eyebrows. "No. Why would you-"

Sighing, Lay ignores Chanyeol's response and instead initates to grab the phone himself. Reaching over towards Chanyeol, Lay begins to smell to scent of alcohol running all over Chanyeol's body. When he successfully achieves the phone from Chanyeol's hand, Lay turns the phone on and is greeted with  a black and white picture of what seemed to be an ultrasound. Why did Chanyeol have an ultrasound picture as his lock screen? Was that ultrasound him when he was still an embryo? Raising an eyebrow, Lay decides to disregard the photo and instead unlocks the phone.

"What's your password?"

"0727." Chanyeol responds, resting his head on top of the table.

"God my head hurts like hell!" Chanyeol groans, shutting his eyes and placing his hands on his forehead. "But my heart hurts too. I just- I don't- I'm a mess."

"I spent all my life trying to get my parent's approval for everything and meet their expectations. And now look at me." Chanyeol blurts, feeling somewhat emotional because of the alcohol. "What was I expecting though? To have them accept my relationship with Baekhyun? Or accept the fact that I got him pregnant?"

"Chanyeol, are you talking to yourself?"

Nodding, Chanyeol continues on with his thought. "Maybe it was the fact that I knew they would never accept him that made me like him even more. He made me feel like maybe I didn't need my parent's approval or meet their expectations because no matter how much I would fail, at least someone would still love me."

"Who's Baekhyun?" Lay question, as he tilts his head in confusion before he realizes that he still hasn't unlocked the phone yet.

Snapping out of it, Lay unlocks the phone and is met with another picture, but this time it was a picture of Chanyeol and another male with black hair and pale skin looking lovingly into each others eyes. What threw Lay off was how familiar the male looked. Raising an eyebrow, Lay's thoughts begin to wander about where he might have seen the male before. Then a sudden realization hits him and by now, everything had begun to make sense.

Baekhyun.

He was the pregnant owner of the cafe that offered to make those cupcakes for their engagement party. He was the one, who Chanyeol chased after during the part. He was the one that Chanyeol was so crazy about.

Catching a peak of the photo, Chanyeol begins to sit upright. "I took that during our first date in Japan."

Chanyeol grabs the phone from Lay's hand and swipes it, revealing yet another photo. "This was when I stopped by his bakery and took a photo of him working. He doesn't know I have this and if he did, he would probably want me to delete it. But I just really like it."

"This was an ultrasound picture." Chanyeol says, feeling proud. "I remember holding his hand the whole time during the meeting because he was nervous and didn't like the way the gel felt on his stomach."

"Baby? So you have a kid?"

"Had." Chanyeol replies, shutting off his phone.

Lay grew curious. The last time he had seen Baekhyun, the latter was gushing over his pregnancy. So it was a shock for Lay to hear that Baekhyun had lost the baby. Besides it seemed like Baekhyun was healthy. "What happened?"

"He got into a car accident when he found out that I was engaged." Chanyeol replies. "I should've just told him. But I didn't know what to say. I didn't want to lose him... but I ended up losing him anyways. Now, he's gone and I have absolutely no idea where he went."

"Chanyeol, I- Are you crying?" Lay questions, startled by a sudden droplet rolling down Chanyeol's eye.

"I'm drunk." Chanyeol exclaims, letting his emotions get the best of him. He wanted to be sad. Depressed even, about his whole situation, but the alcohol was just making him crazy. Instead Chanyeol begins to laugh at himself and his mixed emotions. At first Lay thought that Chanyeol was just insane and needed some medical attention, but then Lay figured that maybe this was Chanyeol's way of dealing with things. Even if it was wierd, Lay couldn't help but pity the man in front of him that would also become his husband tomorrow.

"Oh my god. I can't even-"

"Hold me." Chanyeol blurts, opening his arms to hug Lay.

"You're crazy."

"Hug me!" Chanyeol whines, keeping his hands in the same position. Pouting, Chanyeol gives Lay a sad expression. "I'll cry if you don't. I need someone right now."

Giving into the hug, Lay gives Chanyeol a warm embrace. Lay pats Chanyeol's back as a form of comfort, while Chanyeol spills tears on his white shirt. It was as if the roles had been reversed today. When Lay first met Chanyeol, he was the one that was crying... but now, it was Chanyeol who was spilling tears.

Before Lay thought tnat their encounterance was destiny, but now it seemed like Chanyeol's destiny was with someone else.

"You wanted to see me?" Luhan says, as he enters Mr. Wu's private office.

Nodding, Kris closes his laptop before signalling Luhan to come forward and take a seat. Nerviously, Luhan does as he was instructed and approaches Kris, who had an unidentified look on his face. After hearing that Kris had wanted to speak with him privately, Luhan's immediate response was to think about what he had done wrong. Who wouldn't be afraid of the fact that the president of the company just called you into his office to speak about a private matter?

"Have you been well?" Kris starts, forming a slight smile in an attempt to make Luhan feel at ease. But fails and only makes Luhan feel even more distraught. When Kris sees Luhan nod his head in response, he continues on with the conversation. "I bet you're curious as to why I called you."

Nodding, Luhan fumbles with his fingers. Uh oh. He's going to get fired. He knows-

"I wanted to discuss about your internship." Kris continues, causing Luhan to take a sigh of relief. "Have you realized that it's almost 3 months? Your internship's ending soon... In fact, it's ending in a couple of days so have you decided whether or not you'll be staying here?"

Honestly, Luhan hadn't even thought about that... He's just been so preoccupied lately to realize that he was just there for an internship. Shaking his head, Luhan bites the bottom of his lips. "I decided yet..."

"Well, whatever you choose, just know that you'll always have a spot here." Kris says, causing Luhan to smile in response. "But this isn't the only matter I wanted to discuss with you."

"Eh?"

"I know about you and Sehun." Kris adds, causing Luhan to put on a guilty expression. "Tao told me a couple of days ago..."

"I'm sorry. I-"

"I'm alright with it." Kris continues, standing up to retrieve something on top of his table. When he returns with the envelope, Kris hands it to Luhan, who accepted it with a blank expression on his face. "What I'm not okay with is this. This is you, right?"

Opening the envelope, Luhan sees a small stack of pictures inside. Having an idea at what it might have been, Luhan gulps before reaching into the envelope to grab one photo. He stares deeply into the photo and begins to realize that the picture was of him and Sehun inside of the cafe they had went to yesterday after their trip to the hospital. The picture was pretty blurry and dark -considering the fact that it was midnight- but it was still easy to recognize Sehun's face. Sehun always had that natural, celebrity aoura to him...Luhan's face however was completely unnoticable and blurry.

"How... how did-"

"This was dropped off at my office this morning. I don't know who sent it but you guys need to be more careful. I'm okay with your relationship but what were you planning to do if this ended up on the news?"

Luhan lowers his head. "I-I don't know."

"Sehun's career would've been in trouble! Fans would felt betrayed by the fact that their idol was keeping his relationship a secret from them." Kris responds, as he runs his hands through his hair. "Sehun's just building his career... A scandal isn't what he needs right now."

"To become successful in this buisness, you need fans. And what's going to happen to his fans when they find out that Sehun's in a relationship? They're going to leave and then before you know it, no one's going to remember who Oh Sehun ever was." Kris adds.

"So you want me to end it?"

"That's not what I'm saying... Just... Just be more careful." Kris sighs, giving Luhan a serious look. "No more late night dinners. No more intimate hugs or kisses during filming. Rumors have begun to spread and I don't want this issue to become bigger than it needs to be."

"I understand."

"If one day this anonymous photographer decides to release these photos, you do know that both of you have to deny your relationship, right? Having to pretend that you're not in love with him, will you be okay with that?"

Luhan bites his bottom lip, hesitant over his next response.

Sudden knocking causes Kyungsoo to get up from the coach and make his way towards the door. Raising an eyebrow, he begins to wonder who it might have been. It couldn't be Luhan since he had already found a new place to stay. Jongin was currently in a meeting so it probably couldn't be him. The only person left that Kyungsoo could think of was Baekhyun...

Unlocking the door, Kyungsoo opens the door with a warm smile. "May I- Mrs. Kim."

Kyungsoo's smile falls and instead is left with a blank expression. "What are you doing here?"

Rolling her eyes, Mrs. Kim ignores Kyungsoo's question and instead walks inside of the apartment. Removing her coat, she hangs it on the coat rack in a sophisticated manner, before she turns her attention to Kyungsoo. "How have you been Kyungsoo? I heard you went on vacation with my son this past weekend."

"I've been well."

"How has your relationship been with my son?" Mrs. Kim questions, as a sly smile forms from the corners of . "Good, I suppose. Since it's evident that he does have a lot of money to make even the smallest of people happy."

"Are you implying I'm short, Mrs. Kim?"

"I'm just curious to what your secrets are, my dear. That's all. How ever did you get to seduce my son?" Mrs. Kim scoffs. "Did you drug him? Threaten him against his will? Or has everything been an act since the beginning?"

Kyungsoo's jaw clenches. "I don't understand what you're saying. I hope you're not implying that I'm just using Jongin because of his money. I have no intentions to use him or his money-"

"I've done quite a bit of research on you." Mrs. Kim states. "And it's offly interesting how although you say that you don't care about money, you need it the most in order to support your family. You even dropped out of medical school, isn't that correct?"

"Here." Mrs. Kim says, as she hands Kyungsoo a thick envelope. "Money for your tuition."

Kyungsoo shakes his head. "No thanks. I don't need money from you-"

"I think it's time to stop this little act between you and my son." Mrs. Kim states, giving Kyungsoo a stern look. "I'm not idiot. I knew that your relationship wasn't real from the beginning. If this was his plan to get his freedom back... then I'll give it back right now. I don't want my son to regret his decisions in the future and associate himself with such a-"

"Thank you for your concern Mrs. Kim, but I think you should be leaving now. It's past midnight." Kyungsoo replies. Kyungsoo had enough. If Mrs. KIm said one more word, Kyungsoo was going to snap... and Kyungsoo didn't want to fight with her and then also possibly have another fight with Jongin. Kyungsoo just wanted to sleep.

"There you are." Sehun says, when he sees Luhan approaching the set. Quickly, Sehun makes his way towards Luhan, looking dashing in a black tuxedo for the scene he was about to film. "I've been looking for you everywhere. I asked a couple of other stylists where you were and said they haven't seen you since this morning. Where' were you? You even ignored my calls."

"Oh... uhh. No where in particular. I'm sorry for ignoring you, my phone was running low on battery." Luhan replies, brushing off the subject. "Anyways, I'll do your makeup right now-"

"It's fine." Sehun responds, giving Luhan a slight smile. "I already got it done by another stylist. You kind of weren't here for the whole shooting-"

"Oh..." Luhan replies, looking wary. "I'm sorrry."

"It's okay." Sehun states, about to carress Luhan's cheek but gets stopped by Luhan's hand. Sehun raises an eyebrow, but decides to look past what had just happened and instead continues on with the conversation. "Anyways... It's my last scene. Let's go have a late dinner afterwards-"

"I can't today." Luhan replies, looking away. "I sort of promised Kyungsoo that I would have dinner with him."

Sehun furrows his eyebrows. "Is there something wrong? You seem out of it today-"

"I'm fine. I'm just... feeling kindof under the weather that's all." Luhan replies, before giving Sehun a quick peck on the cheek. Once Luhan pulls away, Sehun opens his mouth to speak only to get interrupted by Luhan. "I'll text you."

"Sehun-shi please get back to the set."

Text? But Luhan hates texting... Something was wrong and Sehun knew it. Luhan was a horrible liar. And since Luhan wasn't going to tell him what was wrong, then Sehun will just have to find another way to find out.

A/N: Sorry for the lack of updates! I was kind of getting writer's block and focusing on school... but thank god it's over! Anyways, I'm planning to make this story only 30-31 chapters (it depends tbh) but that means there's only 4 chapters left! I can't believe I'm actually finishing my first story. See you on the next update! Everything will be resolved soon... I promise!

P.S: I know the picture doesn't make sense with the story... but I'm just celebrating Love Me Right!
