One day in the afternoon, a man and woman came into an orphanage with a little girl standing between them. As the girl tried to hold their hands, the man and woman smacked her hand gently. Then at a corner a little boy at the same age as the little girl met each other's eyes. The boy waved and smiled at her but the girl avoided him not knowing what was going to happen to her. After waiting for 5 minutes, the man and woman both said coldly, "Take her away." As tears slowy came to their eyes they got up and walked away leaving the little girl behind. The little girl cried and chased after them yelling mommy and daddy. The doors were automatically lock once she got there,she cried and cried starring at the closed door.

"It's okay." A soft gentle voice came from behind and a hand rested on the girl's shoulder. She turned around and sees the boy she made eye contact with from earlier. The boy gave her a bright smile and reached out his other hand, "I'm Lee Joon. Your name?" the boy says starring at the girl's crying face. The girl didn't care about who he was and hugged him, the boy was a bit surprised about getting a hug out of no where but he went along and comforted her. "I-I-I'm Kim Ha Yi." the girl says with a sob.

"I'll protect you from now on okay." the boy said as he lets go of her and grabs her hand, he takes her to the corner he was playing at and she cheered up. She was happy that someone she just met felt the same pain as she did.

A few weeks later, Joon and HaYi became closer and closer with each other, that's when the bullying starts. They were just playing outside as usual and a group of kids came to them. "Joon, why are you playing with the ugly girl? You should be playing with us not her!" says a boy about their age with an attitude. Joon stares at the boy and turns his head away to talk to HaYi. Then a group of girls came and said with attitude, "Joon she's ugly, you should be with us pretty girls. A boy like you doesn't match her. Come back to us."

  He continues to ignore them along with HaYi. A boy comes up to them and destroys what they made. "Hey we're talking to you! Can't you hear?!" Joon gets up and grabes HaYi's hand and tries to walk away. The boy grabes Joon's shoulder and turns him around. "Where are you guys going? Come play with us and we'll let you guys go okay Joon." the boy says with a mean tone. Joon looks at HaYi and she nods her head, he looks back at the boy and lets go of HaYi's hand. Slowly they were getting too far away from each other. The girls from before blocked her view as she was watching Joon walk away. "Who are you look at? Joon is ours, he doesn't belong to you! Don't ever go near him again!" the girls shouted to her.

 HaYi felt hurt inside and felt lonely, she walked over to a tree and sat down watching the other kids play happily. She then sees Joon playing cheerfully, she thought that she might as well give up on him. She had avoided him for 2 weeks and he couldn't take it anymore. Joon went up to her when it was play time. "HaYi, what's wrong? You don't talk to me anymore." he says as he walks up in front of her. She stops and turns around and he grabes her hand to turn her around. Tears came running down like rivers from her eyes, "What's wrong? Why are you crying?" he says as he wipes her tears. HaYi pushes him away and runs to a tree. He didn't follow her at all and went to go play. The girls from before came up to her again. "Hey we told you not to go near him! We warned you already. Lets throw rocks at her! YES!"

 The girls threw rocks and dirt at HaYi and she cried hard and loud. Joon looked behind him and saw her getting hit with rocks and ran to her. "Hey where are you going you can't leave the game!?" a boy shouted to him. He ran as fast as he could to reach her. Once he reached her, he stood in front of her and blocked to the rocks for her. One girl throws a rock and hits Joon's head. It starts to bleed but not as much as the wounds in HaYi. The girls were shocked to hit Joon that they ran away. Joon turned around and sat next to HaYi, "I told you I'll protect you." he says crying. "Because of you I got like this! Idiot, you're always late!" she shouts and cries  at the sametime saying that but then smiles.

Finally 4 years past and they were 7 years old, that's when they decided to escape. The news about another kid was going to come to the orphanage and Joon overheard the staffs converstation from not being able to sleep one night. He told HaYi about it and she agreed. The day the kid who was coming to the orphange came in the afternoon. Joon and HaYi waited quietly by the door hiding behind statues. Once the doors opened they made the run for it. Joon held onto HaYi's hand tighter than ever, they made it as far as they could for the staff not to reach them. They hid between buildings and rested, "Okay HaYi this should be far enough. For now lets make up are new names that we will use for now on, yeah?" he says as he crouches down in front of her. She not able to say anything from the running she nods her head. "Okay, I'm Park Tae Joon and you will be Gu Jae Hee." he smiles with a thumbs up. "I like it, our new names TaeJoon." she says as she smiles at him and he smiles back.

And their new life style began.
