Hyuk had felt like he was drowning for a very long time. Not literally, but in a more figurative sence. He’d been drowning in his past, in the painful memories that haunted him every time he closed his eyes. He liked to avoid sleeping for that very reason. Those memories…….he wanted to erase them completely from his head

And then Ravi appeared.

He felt…….Hyuk felt so calm around the other and slowly that feeling of drowning started to fade. He past didn’t seem to matter so long as Ravi was around. Maybe….maybe that was why he’d been so reluctant to tell him anything. He was scared that Ravi would reject him if he knew about his past. He didn’t want to lose Ravi, he never wanted to do anything that would make him lose Ravi.

That was why he had reacted as he did when he saw Ravi at his work. He expected to come home and find whatever belongings he had waiting for him outside the door. He expected Ravi to never want to see him again. What he didn’t expect was for Ravi to come find him, to comfort him and assure him that everything was alright.

After telling Ravi everything, every little detail, Hyuk had felt……he no longer felt like he was drowning. When Ravi had just held him, whispering that everything was alright now and that the past didn’t matter, Hyuk felt……he felt human. More human than he had in a long time.

That was when he noticed a different type of drowning. The kind he felt whenever he was around Ravi. Unlike the drowning he felt when it came to his past, this was……pleasant wasn’t a strong enough word to cover how much he liked it.
