Sanghyuk had always loved the roof of his building. Hidden in a corner of the space was a little garden. When Sanghyuk first found it, the plants were dead and dying due to lack of care. Sanghyuk had gone right to the apartment manager and asked about the space, hoping that he would be allowed to take care of it.
The manager had told him that the space had belonged to the owner’s family. Originally cared for by the wife of the family, with her passing it had been left to die. Her family had been unable to even enter the space she’d care so much for, let alone enter the building. It hurt too much for any of them.
The manager saw no problem in letting Sanghyuk care for the space. After all, as he said, it would have been a shame to let it go to waste. Especially when the woman who’d created it had loved it so much.
Now, after three years, the space was perfect. Perfectly beautiful. Sanghyuk had sunk more than a few dollars into making it that way and had no shame admitting to it. Even if his friends thought it was a shame to spend so much money on a space he kept all to himself, Sanghyuk was cool with it.
Anyway, the point was that Sanghyuk loved his garden and he loved that he was the only one who knew about it and came there.
Which was why it was a real shock to find someone else there when he arrived.
“So,” the new person said when he noticed Sanghyuk’s arrival, “you’re the one who’s been using my mother’s garden.”
“I,” Sanghyuk struggled to find words, “you……you’re mother?”
“It looks beautiful,” the young man noted as he looked around the garden, “maybe…..even more beautiful then how mother kept it.”
“I asked the manager,” Sanghyuk quickly said, “He said it was ok for me to use this space.”
“I’m not upset,” the guy turned his full attention to Sanghyuk, “I’m happy this garden isn’t dead. So thank you for that.”
Sanghyuk nodded, unsure of what to say now. The young man before him didn’t seem interested in talking either, just looking around. After a pause, Sanghyuk decided to just ignore him and get back to what he’d come to do; tend to the garden.
Taekwoon looked over at Sanghyuk, watching the other tending to the plants. For a moment, he was reminded of his mother when he was younger and would watch her tending to her plants. His mind produced the thought that Sanghyuk would probably make a good boyfriend, that he’d always wanted someone who was like his mother, but that thought was hilarious. He’d only just met the other and they hadn’t even exchanged names yet. Thinking he would be a good boyfriend……
But then again, Taekwoon glanced over at Sanghyuk again, they could always go out for drinks or something and get to know each other.
A/N: cute, fluffy Luck. The very best kind of luck there is. Also, hope you all saw that I posted a full version of the Red vs Blue AU. Must say, I’m proud of that ending. And the whole thing, but mostly tat ending.
