VIXX 300 Theme ChallengeTitle: Believe Pairing: Chasang Related Chapter: none Word Count: 528
A key thing of being in Neverland was believing.
For example, to fly you had to believe that you could fly. And that was just one little thing. One little thing that wasn’t at all important compared to everything else that required one to believe.
This made Neverland a horrible place for Hakyeon.
Believing......it stopped being something he could do when he was younger. When his family was lost and he was left alone in the world.
In a way, it was odd for him to stop believing in things when he lived in the enchanted forest. Fairy tales were always being written in those woods, magical things happening every day.
And yet.......Hakyeon couldn’t make himself believe in things like hope and faith.
And love.
Especially love.
Hakyeon scoffed at those things, especially the last one. He never wanted to take part in any of that nonsense. He was perfectly content to live alone in his small cabin, away from all of that crap.
But that wasn’t what he got at all.
Nope, not at all.
A fairy crossed paths with him one fateful day and decided that he needed those things he didn’t want. That fairy, that blasted Jaehwan, had immediately worked his magic and sent Hakyeon to a place he was sure would help the other.
Neverland.
And that was how Hakyeon found himself playing mother to a group of young men, the lost boys they called themselves, who called him ‘mother.‘
Well, all called him that save for one.
Sanghyuk, according to Hongbin and Wonsik, had been in Neverland the longest and that made him the leader of the group. Well, that and the fact that he’d been younger than all the others when he arrived and managed to not just survive, but help the other boys who arrived after him stay alive. Naturally, this made him the only logical choice for leader.
Sanghyuk refused to call Hakyeon ‘mother’ like the others. Instead, he liked to call Hakyeon ‘wife.’
At first, this annoyed Hakyeon. Especially when Sanghyuk admitted that he didn’t actually know what a ‘wife’ was, that Jaehwan had told him to call Hakyeon that. That was just another reason for Hakyeon to rip that blasted fairies wings off when he got hold of him.
But over time, Hakyeon’s annoyance faded into a soft fluttering of his heart. Whenever Sanghyuk called him ‘wife,’ it made him want to smile and made him feel warm and fuzzy. Hakyeon had no idea what this feeling was at first and feared that he was ill.
That was when Jaehwan showed up, quickly informing Hakyeon that what he felt was love before getting the heck out of the underground base Sanghyuk, Hakyeon, and the lost boys called home before Hakyeon could even think of making good on his threats to rip off his wings.
Naturally, Hakyeon denied that what he felt was love. He didn’t need or want love. He didn’t believe in it. So how could he feel it? Easy, he couldn’t.
Thankfully for that stubborn mule of a young man, Jaehwan had no problem opening his eyes to love and hope and faith and simply believing.
A/N: I’m worried I might have gotten lost at the end. You guys will have to tell him if I ed up or not.
