The girl cried, begging for……anything. Something. For the pair to spare her life, for them to make her death quick and painless. To be honest, her pleas blurred together and became one loud, annoying noise ringing in Hyuk’s ears the second opened. Nothing she said was something he hadn’t heard before and he no longer cared exactly what was being said.

“Hyung,” he sighed, looking over at the older……whatever they were. Truthfully, he wasn’t sure what they were now. They’d started as vampires and then some humans captured them. After years of experimentation, it was anyone’s guess what they were now. Were they still vampires? Or had they become monsters? Maybe it was a little of both.

The older of the pair let out a small sigh before walking closer to the girl. She cried harder, begged louder, but he just rolled his eyes. He remembered this woman from the days he’d spent locked in a cell. Back then, she’d giggled as she experimented on him and Hyuk and the others. She had laughed at their pain. Especially when it came to Hyuk. Even when she wasn’t in charge of the experiments run on the youngest, she still showed up to watch and laugh.

“Leo hyung,” Hyuk spoke up again, “I can hear the police sirens. Someone must have heard her. We have to hurry.”

Leo glanced over his shoulder at Hyuk before turning back to the girl. He’d wanted to torment her more, let her suffer what Hyuk had, but with the cops showing up so soon he had to cut things short. But he still wanted her to suffer, her last moments filled with pain and torment. With a smirk, he grabbed her by the hair and dragged her to the window. Without another glance at her, he through her out the window.

“Wow,” Hyuk laughed as the pair watched the girl fall to her death, “that had to hurt.”

“Let’s go,” Leo replied, leading Hyuk out into the hall.

The pair silently ran to the stairwell before heading to the roof. Once there, Hyuk looked down at the street, watching the cops and innocent people that had gathered around the girl’s body. No one looked up in his direction, but even if they did it was too dark to see anything. The scent of blood made its way to his nose, but no matter how hungry Hyuk was there was no way he would want blood that came from one of those people. One of the people that made his brothers suffer, that made him suffer, for years.

“Hyuk,” Leo called, holding out a hand for the younger, “let’s go.”

The pair moved to the other side of the roof before spreading their black wings. The pair took off into the air, landing several blocks away so that they could double back and take a look at what the police were doing. Leo wanted to be perfectly sure that the girl was dead before they went home. He refused to take the chance that the girl had somehow survived the fall and could report back to those who had been in charge of the experiments run on himself and his brothers.

“Defiantly dead,” Hyuk observed as they watched the body bag with the girl be loaded into the ambulance, “can we go home now?”

“Alright,” Leo nodded before walking away, Hyuk following close behind.
