“Hey,” Ken grinned brightly when he heard his friend’s voice on the other end of the phone, “what’s up?”
“Just making sure that you’re coming over still,” Ken said, “and i wanted to ask what game you wanted to play.”
“Sorry, hyung,” Hyuk sighed, “my mom found out that my grade in math dropped and got me a tutor.”
“What are you talking about?” Ken huffed, “you’re grades are solid. You’re ranked third in your grade.”
“But my mom wants me to be first,” Hyuk replied, “so I’ll just......I’ll go along with the tutor thing for a while until my grades are back up. Then we can go back to playing videos games on Friday night.”
“Alright,” Ken said, pouting, “But promise that as soon as you get rid of this tutor you’re going to join me for a full weekend of video games.”
“Promise,” Hyuk said.
That had been months ago and Ken knew for a fact that Hyuk had brought his grades back up. He should have lost the tutor and be back playing video games with Ken. At least, that’s what Ken thought.
“I’m sure that his mother isn’t letting him get rid of his tutor,” N assured him, “I know Hyukkie wouldn’t be ditching you intentionally.”
“You’re right,” Ken nodded, realizing the truth in his friends words, “I’m going to find Hyukkie and talk to him a bit. Is it alright to leave you alone, hyung?”
“Go,” N laughed, waving Ken off, “have fun with your boyfriend.”
“He’s not my boyfriend,” Ken pouted, face heating up, “Hyukkie is my best friend.”
“Whatever you say,” N smiled and Ken took off in search of his younger friend. A friend that he might have feelings for, regardless of what he said to N. Ken....he didn’t like to admit that he was in love with his best friend. If he admitted it, then he’d feel like acting on it and doing that could risk his friendship with Hyuk. He wanted anything but that.
Ken found Hyuk in the library, hidden in a back corner with another. Ken recognized the other student as Leo, the only kid at their school with grades higher than Hyuk and Hyuk’s tutor. That, however, isn’t what made Ken freeze. No, what made him freeze was that Hyuk had Leo against the wall and Leo’s hands had slipped under Hyuk’s shirt while the pair made out. Pain filled his heart and Ken slowly backed up, silently slipped away and left Hyuk alone with Leo.
“Hey,” Hyuk grinned a few hours later when school let out, running to catch up with Ken, “I have good news. My mom said that I don’t need a tutor anymore. Still up for that weekend of video games?”
Ken smiled, trying his best not to let his pain show, and nodded.
A/N: I’m so sorry HyuKen fans, i know you all must hate me so much. Heck, I’m more of a Luck shipper then anything and I kind of hate me for putting Ken through so much emotional pain.
