“Well,” the vampire smirked slightly, “what do we have here?”

“Give me my mate,” Ravi hissed, “I know you have him.”

“Mate?” the vampire scoffed, “boy, you shouldn’t have a mate. To have a mate, you need to have exchanged blood and last I checked, the vampire council outlawed the act of a vampire drinking from another.”

“I don’t know anything about a vampire council,” Ravi replied, “and I don’t care what they outlawed. Hyuk is my mate and you took him. Give him back now, or I’ll rip out your spine and beat you to death with it.”

“Well,” the vampire smirked, “I can’t have you doing that, but I also can’t just give you back the child. You see, the council wants to make an example out of the two of you. Show every vampire around the world what happens when you keep breaking the laws they put into place.”

“We haven’t broken any rules,” Ravi yelled, “and if we have, punish me for them. Not Hyuk.”

“And that is why killing him works so much better,” the vampire laughed, “not only are you so old that you should have known better, but seeing his lifeless body will kill you. Personally, I wish I was doing the honours, that way I could fix my mistake from the first time.”

“First……time,” Ravi froze, his mind recalling the horrible scene from the day he found Hyuk on the floor, his blood covering everything.

“How about this,” the vampire smirked, “we duel. If you win, I’ll tell you where they’re holding your mate. But if I win…..well, the boy dies and I get to kill you to make up for not getting to do the job myself.”

“Fine,” Ravi nodded, already entertaining all the ways he could torment the vampire before him as punishment for all the pain he had caused Hyuk and himself.

“Come here tomorrow night at midnight,” the vampire said before vanishing, “if you win, you’ll have a full twelve hours to get to your lover’s location before they kill him.”

“Hyuk,” Ravi whispered once he was alone, “I’ll save you, I promise. I won’t let you die.”

In kind of non-story related news. You’ve all heard about that “AFF shutting down” thing a few days ago right? Well, that (and some of the comments I saw on blogs pertaining to it) got me thinking. This is the only place I’ve posted my writing, so if AFF did suddenly shut down that would kind screw you guys over in regards to trying to find and read this story (or any of my stuff for that matter, we all know I’ve got a lot of Luck, HyuKen, and Rahyuk stories on this site hahahaha). SO!! I problem solved!!! (Ok, so the amount of exclamation marks is kind of unnecessary. It’s not that big a thing) Here (link) is where you guys will be able to find my stuff should AFF ever go down for good. You can follow it if you want, I’ll be using it mostly just to post one-shots like the full version of the Rahyuk vampire AU and some WIP stuff (one such thing is posted there right now *says casually* some of you might recall that Carmilla inspired Rahyuk theme........) for now. But if AFF ever shuts down for good, everything I’ve posted here will end up there (and then that blog will get really messy haha I write a lot, don’t I? and so much of it is looooooooonnnnnnng things)
