“Hey,” Ken called, walking into storage room, “Hyuk, are you in here?”

“What do you want?” the AI’s voice rang out.

“I just want to talk to you,” Ken explained, “can I?”

“Fine,” Hyuk sighed before appearing in front of one of the computer screens, turning it back on so he could finish watching the movie he’d been playing before Ken had come into the storage room.

“Do you want me to wait?” Ken asked, “I mean, I know you’ve wanted to watch this movie for a while, and I have a lot to say………”

“Alright,” Hyuk nodded, attention already off Ken.

The human watched as the AI stood before the computer screen. Hyuk looked so interested in the movie, it was adorable to Ken. But then, everything about Hyuk was adorable to him. But moments like this were his favorite because Hyuk let his walls down and anyone could tell what he was feeling.  The AI didn’t do that enough and Ken felt like he was mostly to blame for that. Hyuk felt the need to hide how he was really feeling because he didn’t want to upset people and most of the time ‘people’ meant Ken.

(They did spend most of their time together after all)

“Hyuk,” Ken said and Hyuk paused the movie.

“What?” Hyuk replied, not even looking at Ken.

“I’ve stopped building the robot body,” Ken sighed, “you don’t want one so…….I can’t force you.”

“I’m sorry,” Hyuk sighed, “I know you’re just trying to do what you think is best—.”

“No,” Ken frowned, “I shouldn’t just…..just charge off doing what I think is best. We’re partners, I should talk to you before I do something.”

“It’s alright, Ken,” Hyuk smiled, holo form glowing a little brighter, “don’t worry about it.”

The pair settled down to watch the movie when an idea popped into Ken’s head.

“We never caught Hongbin, did we?” he asked.

“No,” Hyuk said, quickly figuring out what Ken was thinking, “what do you think about rectifying that?”

“I think I like that idea a lot,” Ken smiled, “want to head out now?”

“After the movie?” Hyuk frowned slightly, glancing back at the screen.

“Alright,” Ken smiled.

A/N: it’s been a while since the last part of the Red vs. Blue AU, hopefully you guys didn’t forget about it. no, this isn’t going to be the end (Hongbin hasn’t been caught yet, has he?)
