Hyuk bit back a small sob, arms wrapped tightly around his legs while his face was buried in his knees. He just felt so......useless. Like he wasn’t good enough. Heck, he’d never be good enough. There would always be people asking why he was in VIXX, why was a kid like him selected over the other trainees who had worked for longer. He knew he wasn’t the best danger, singer or rapper in the group, that he wasn’t the most attractive member – although he felt that was a bit of an unfair comparison when there was Hongbin in the group – but he liked to think he’d gotten better since debut.

“Hey,” Hyuk didn’t look up at Ken as the older sat down beside him, “how are you?”

Hyuk didn’t look up, didn’t say a word.

“Right,” Ken gave a small laugh, “stupid question.”

The pair fell into silence, Hyuk not wanting to talk and Ken unsure of what to say. The older couldn’t understand why people didn’t realize how amazing Hyuk was. Like, the rest of the group knew and their company did, but a lot of people didn’t seem to realize that Hyuk was amazing. That made Ken sad, seeing Hyuk feel useless hurt him. Not knowing how to make the maknae feel better . No matter what he said, it never seemed to work for long. No matter what Ken said, Hyuk’s mind always whispered things that made Hyuk doubt everything he was told.

So, Ken just hugged him, hoping that the action would be enough to rid the one he loved of his sadness.
