Her eyes blinked open, and it was then that the pain kicked in. She was aching all over, and any attempt to move her arms and legs failed. She couldn't even lift her head up, and could only lay there staring straight up at the ceiling. The back of her head throbbed badly, and she had to fought to not lose consciousness again.

She exhaled, in and out, and struggled to keep air flowing from her nose. She smelled something metallic; the smell hung in the air like dense mist that never disperse. 

It was then that she saw the drops of blood on her veil.

The bright red color was splattered all over her lace veil, and upon a look at her wedding gown, it was smeared everywhere on the white silk like a child attempting to paint on a white canvas. She tried to move her legs again, and this time they just lightly swept across the slippery floor. 

Why was it slippery?

What exactly happened?

At that moment, everything rushed to her like an oncoming truck, and the full impact of it all pinned her to the floor in her red wedding gown. Sobbing, her hand weakly reached for her stomach as if to feel something there.

No. No, please. No! Please!

She couldn't feel anything; her abdomen laid flat and only rose and fell with her uncontrollable sobbing. Tears ran down her face unrestrained, and her weeping bounced off the walls and echoed back as if mocking her.

"No!" She yelled, her voice broken from crying. "Oh God no!"

She was shaking now, breathing heavily in and out between sobs. She didn't dare sitting up and looking down to check, because she was afraid that it was what she expected. 

No, she didn't want to see.

Her legs felt sticky with blood, and an overwhelming pain washed over her like a tidal wave. She wished she could drown in the pain; she wished she could have been buried in it so deep so that she would never emerge again.

She screamed. The high-pitch screech pierced through her eardrums and resonated through the walls. She cried and cried, and her exhaustion eventually caused her eyes to flick closed.

She thought she saw a pair of feet rushing towards her right before her eyelids fell and she faded into nothingness.
