Eighteen-years ago, a vampire known as Reed Winters disobeyed his family and fell in love with a human—Evelyn, a country girl—which was forbidden for vampire. They were in love secretly, no one ever tried to figure out about their relationship, nor did they know Reed was actually in love with a human until Evelyn got pregnant. The whole vampire clan was in a chaos at that time. Nobody had ever expected that Reed would be the one who would go beyond the line because of a mortal.

They decided to kill Reed despite of the fact that he was one of their own people but finished him in anyways—meanwhile, Evelyn ran to somewhere else that Reed’s father was the only one who knew where she was running.

Months later, Evelyn gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, named after Emily Rose.  A beautiful girl with white porcelain skin, has a pair of blue eyes—V-shaped face, pink thin lips, sharp nose and brunette hair. Emily was raised with full of love, and without a father. She lived her life with the lies her father was dead because of an accident—never once she questioned why her mother would always change the subject every time she tried to pry in the late memories of the middle-aged woman until she reached eighteen, when she started to feel there was something that Evelyn was hiding behind her green orbs.

For almost every night after her eighteenth birthday—she had several vicious dreams about a tall guy with white porcelain skin—just like hers—has a pair of gray eyes, his face was blood draining, looked so pale and she didn’t even have a slightest idea about who the guy actually was.

She managed to ignore about the dream and lived an ordinary life with her mother but the thought about that guy in her dream would always linger in her mind. She spent her summers at the beach, had the perfect best friend, and had just started dating the cutest guy at her school. No one she'd ever known had died. But everything changed after she found out her mother was dead in the Birch Forest, in what appeared to be a strange death.

That was when her grandfather came to a decision then spilled out the real identity of Emily Rose. It was only when she discovered she was a vampire’s daughter and apparently a half-blood vampire—and she held a power that she inherited from her father. The only power that would make the vampire clan became the utmost power. It seemed as if the old man was cracking some jokes and tried to make her laugh but the jokes didn’t even reach the old man’s eyes. It was real—that was what her grandfather told her yet again she didn’t want to believe but it couldn’t be a lie, could it? She practically wanted to be an ordinary teenager, hanging out with friends and going to university then studied law or whatever subjects that she liked but everything turned to be something she had never imagined to happen—a daughter of a vampire—going to Grove Academy which seemingly scary and illegal.

Few weeks after the funeral, she had been taken by her wealthy grandfather and the old man decided to send her to Grove Academy, a remote and mysterious boarding school, where she found herself studying subjects like Philosophy, Latin, and the weird subjects such as Ordinary Wizarding Level—O.W.L etcetera—core curriculum such as Quidditch, did such subjects even exist?

Grove Academy—is the school for special human kind like her—a half-blood vampire. There are also four different clans; Vampires, Wolves, Witchcraft, Wizardry and Undead or Dementors—all of them were living under the same roof. And from the letter she got from that weird academy, there would be four houses which they were called as Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. The name of the houses also weird in her opinion and she thought that she would be the one who would always seal her lips. What if all the weird students beginning to argue to each other because of the different clan things? It made sense and it would be happening, right? They were all different and it wouldn’t be impossible to happen.

On the first day she stepped in the academy, she felt a bit relieved as she noticed that they were all humanoids, seemingly human—though the fact was actually instead. It was hard to specify or more like differentiate the clans because they looked all the same but Vampires. They were paler than others, that were a must—and that was one of the reasons why they drank blood. Oh, she would be one of them, she needed to be ready or could she just shrug it off and eat like a mortal? Scratch that!

The weird academy was huge and the place looked open-eyed. She couldn’t deny that she would sometimes feeling awestruck as she looked around the place because one day travelling the academy would never be enough and it could only drain the water in her body—exhausted like hell.  

The breakfast, lunch, tea time, dinner and supper would be held in the Great Hall, same goes to assembly, meeting and etcetera. All four houses had their own tables and she was in the Gryffindor. The house that seemingly conquered by people that seemingly kind or should I say, completely kind despite they were immortal but the mud blood—the muggle born witches and wizards—they were mortal, of course.

It was there that she met Kris, a handsome and elusive boy to whom she felt inexplicably drawn. As she lived there, unexplainable things began to happen; slowly she knew something was wrong with her mother’s death. It was a murder and it was related to Kris’ clan, but—Emily couldn’t stop herself from falling in love.
