Taking this get-together in consideration, Netizens came to the conclusion that the three biggest companies feel threatened by Peekaboo Entertainment’s new group. In came the question of the band and the company itself as they have been the first to cause such ruckus in three of Korea’s biggest management companies.
Foreword
On September 10, Peekaboo Entertainment has held a press conference confirming that they will in fact be releasing a boy group immediately grabbing a lot of media attention. For the first time in the history of kpop, the band will debut through Peekaboo Entertainment’s very own music channel escaping M!Countdown and Music core as they will be joining one of the newly debuted rookie groups for a variety/game show which’s name is still not known.
The kpop fans all over the world seem shocked by Peekaboo Entertainment’s move and frankly, a lot of them thinks they don’t stand a chance against SM Entertainment’s, YG Entertainment’s and JYP Entertainment’s artists.
The six member boy band whose name has been revealed to be ‘Teenage Kicks’ is set to debut on October 1st this year.
The news of them debuting has stirred the world of kpop industry rapidly for the past month. Teenage Kicks who are said to be amazingly talented and have predisposition to become an idol group that can dance, sing rock, punk, pop and play instruments all at once, as stated by the company’s CEO.
On the question of whether their band will be able to beat the competition and make their way to the forefront of the industry considering all the boy groups debuting these days and the top companies’ artists already occupying the big scene, the president of Peekaboo Entertainment, Tamara Jung answered: “‘Teenage Kicks’ isn’t like other groups out there. They came into Peekaboo Entertainment full of strength and prepared. They have been an ‘underground’ band struggling for a whole year to get a record deal before being found by our scouting team. These boys had been through a lot of hardships (they even lost a member along the way) but stayed focused and headstrong throughout it all. All of the members have such admirable personalities and are real virtuosos on their instruments. Back-up vocalist is most skilled of them all due to him having a photographic memory when it comes to music – he can easily memorize melodies, lyrics, even play any instrument that he has once seen being played – and him practicing frequently – even to nine hours a day while his twin brother (lead guitarist) who shares his ability is focusing his skills on mastering guitar and bass guitar, and composing. Teenage Kicks’ lead vocalist and guitarist, is labeled as emotionless but hidden charisma of the band. The guy has incredible vocal range and can easily reach really high and really low notes that most idols take up as an enormous challenge depending on their singing ability. Then, the keyboardist and 2nd vocalist writes lyric for the band and is in charge of (and obsessed with) tuning the instruments and their drummer is the most committed one and acts much like a leader even though the band agreed on not having a real leader (he previously was in a position of a manager when band was still playing around clubs and was undiscovered). There’s also an addition to the band; the young singing prodigy whose voice sounds unbelievable for his age whereas he’s also known to play an awful lot of classic electric instruments like electric violin. I have great expectations for them as they already sound like professionals and really know the instrument they play. Their music skills are amazing to say the least and they’re not stuck up like most artists working under big companies. They consider music a gift, something that gets them through good and bad times, something that helps them when they’re down and not just a way of making money. They want to share these feelings with their fans and with the world and that’s why I believe they’ll be successful.”
With no further info, we’re anticipating this group’s debut.
