WINNER IS THE ARTIST OF THE MONTH OF OCTOBER FOR CHANNEL V’S ASIAN NO.1 POP

Channel V Thailand released the results for their Asian Pop No. 1 ranking, where WINNER finishes on top of the charts for the month of October.

WINNER is a boy group from YG Entertainment, which affiliations on the major music label in Korea includes artists such as BIGBANG, 2NE1, PSY, Epik High and more.

They are the first male artists to be released 8 years after BIGBANG who are well received in Korea and abroad.

WINNER as a 5-membered group is composed of Song Minho (sans MINO),Kang Seung Yoon, Kim Jinwoo, Nam Taehyunand Lee Seung Hoon. The band members have known each other since their days as trainees at YG Entertainment. A year ago, they participated on the ‘WIN: Who is Next’ survival program.

As Team A, they compete as trainees to be able to debut as an artist. They emerged as victors on this program and was launced as a new artist under the YG label. Their first album entitled, “2014 S/S” was launced in Korea last August kickstarting with a Launch Party in a stylish fashion show, marking a new history of promotion and execution in the kpop music industry. Their music video was released simultaneously with the release of their two title tracks, “EMPTY” and “COLOR RING” and a follow-up M/V of the track, “I’M HIM“.

WINNER almost took a year of making music before the fans can listen to their first album. According to YG Entertainment, the members wanted to participate in making music as much as possible. Most of the songs on the album are composed by the band members themselves.
