The Babysitter

Little Bambies

It's hard. Really hard.

Sehun thought taking kids out for breakfast will be like eating out with his friends. But it turns out to be not as simple as that. It was way more complicated than that.

Hoon and Hannie made a fuss in choosing their table. Hoon wanted the table in the middle of the room, but Hannie said the said table's color is slightly different from the other tables, pointing out how suspicious it was. Sehun rolled his eyes, choosing the booth at the corner, then telling (lying to) the kids that it's the best table there.

Ordering food isn't any easier. The toddlers have no idea on how to read at all. They choose their lunch based on the pictures on the menu. They whined at Sehun, pointing at every picture on the menu book that looks delicious to them. Sehun told them 'yes' to get them to stop whining, but ordered just the kids' special menu for them.

"So umm, two crab soup, two chocolate muffins, two fish and chips, two mashed potato, and two cups of ice cream?" the waitress confirmed.

"No, just two kids' special menu." Sehun said voice barely above a whisper.

The food arrived after 10 minutes or so. Hannie squealed in delight, thanking Sehun for the meal. Hoon beamed at the sight of his food.

"Sehunnie! Hannie kimbab have bunny!" she cutely showed Sehun her carrots which are cut into bunny shapes to be used as garnish. Sehun smiled warmly at the sight of the little girl.

A sound of fork murderously stabbing the plate echoed in Sehun's ears, making him look at Hoon. The 3 years old boy is trying to stab his food; but failed miserably. Even if he did stab it, the kimbab fell off the kid's fork to his plate again. Hoon almost growled at his kimbab.

Sehun immediately used his fork to stab Hoon's kimbab. "Here" he fed the hungry baby wolf.

"Sehunnie?" Hannie called. "Hannie too." she opened wide open, asking Sehun to feed her. Sehun fed her.

So the blonde CEO ended up feeding the twins their meals, as well as trying to cut the kimbab to smaller pieces so it could fit the toddlers' mouths. He also blew off the kids' soup to cool it off before feeding them. Only when the kids are finished eating that Sehun gets to eat his own food. The kids play with the toys that came with the food while waiting him eats.

Unfortunately for Sehun, three years old kids' attention span is very short.

"I boreeed!" Hoon whined, putting down the plastic toy submarine he was playing with on the table.

Hannie took a quick look at her brother before putting down her small bunny doll. "Go out now?"

"No, I'm still eating." Sehun told them.
The twins picked up their toys again and play with each other, leaving Sehun to eat his food in peace. That is, for another one minute.

"Go out now?" Hannie asked yet again.

"No, I'm still eating." Sehun repeated.

Hoon opened his mouth widely, trying to put the fist-sized submarine toy into his mouth (but it's still too small). Hannie scolded her brother, reminding him that their mom would be angry if he does that. Hoon nodded and stop what he's doing. He wiped his saliva off the submarine toy with Sehun's shirt.

Sehun cringe with disgust inside. He feels like puking.

Seeing Sehun's sick expression and how the blonde man seemed to be finished with his meal, Hannie asked the grown up man, "Go out now?"

Sighing in defeat, Sehun uses his fast-eating technique which he uses whenever he's rushed to a meeting; basically inhaling the food as fast as he can. He doesn't even taste his food. Just chew and swallow, chew and swallow.

The kids watch him in shock, their eyes dazed. Both Hoon and Hannie think that it looks kind of cool. Sehun wiped his mouth with tissue when he's finished.

"Go out now?"

"Go out now." Sehun answered tiredly.

After their late breakfast, Sehun decided that they should go to the nearby market buy some ingredients and snacks for the kids. He figured that eating out won't be healthy for them and he doesn't want to get other people's kids sick because of him.

He just hopes that the children would cooperate with him this time.

They didn't.

On the way to the market, Hoon became sleepy. The boy lay down on his sister's lap, making Hannie giggle and move away because his hair makes her thighs feel ticklish (she's wearing a dress). But Hoon insisted on sleeping there and whine. Hannie told her brother off.

The boy turned grumpy at his sister's words, throwing tantrum by ignoring his sister. Sehun saw how Hoon turned his back at her and folded his arms from the rear mirror. Hannie, being the sweet sensitive girl; cried when being ignored.

She begged her brother to forgive her. Which he promised to do with one condition; she have to let him sleep on her lap. Hannie agreed. But when Hoon put his head on Hannie's lap, she moved away and broke into giggles again because it's still ticklish. It's not like she can help it!

Hoon pouted and became mad. Hannie once again try to make it up with her brother by holding his hand. But Hoon slapped Hannie's hand away. The action reduced Hannie to tears. The little girl started wailing non-stop in the car. Hoon covered his ears and pretend his sister doesn't exist, putting on his emotionless face.

In the end, Sehun has to park his car near a park. He gets off his car and walked to his car's back door. He opened it rather roughly, making the two toddlers look at him with their teary eyes.

"Sehuuun." Hannie whined, extending her two short arms to Sehun. The latter sighed before taking her, pulling her into his arms. He carries her out of the car and cradles her. The girl must've been really sleepy since earlier that she slept in Sehun's arms after a matter of minutes.

"I'm going crazy." Sehun muttered to himself. He placed Hannie back to her seat and brushed her bangs off her eyes.

After that, Sehun took out the jacket he's been keeping in the back of his car. He covered Hannie's legs with his jacket. By then, Hoon's eyes are already half closed and Sehun couldn't help but chuckle at the drooling boy.

"Sleep, Hoon." Sehun said gently, patting Hannie's (now covered with jacket) thighs.

Hoon didn't hesitate at all and placed his head on his sister's lap. The girl is not moving away anymore much to his content. He let his eyes shut completely, taking the private jet to dreamland.

The blonde CEO sighed in relief. He tiredly walked back to the driver's seat, ignoring the other mothers who are squealing over him in the park. With that, he the car's machine and continued driving to the market; this time in peaceful silence.

Sehun checked his watch. 12.15. He mentally noted that it's the kids' nap time.

He chuckled to himself when he saw the twins napping on his back-seat from the rear mirror. They're kind of cute when they're not screaming or whining. Hoon let out a whimper or two in his sleep, making Sehun smile as he gripped the steering wheel and make a left turn to the market's parking lot.

Parking his car in the nearest parking spot available near the entrance door satisfied Sehun. He let out a yawn before stretching his back a little. Sehun turned to look at the sleeping twins. They look so innocent and pretty in their sleep that Sehun couldn't help but take a picture with his phone.

Smiling like an idiot when he check the pictures he took himself, Sehun ask himself, "What am I doing?!" he shook his head a few times, deleting pictures of the sleeping twins.

An hour and a half later, Hannie woke up first. Her eyes droopy and her face swollen. Her ponytail is all ruined but Sehun secretly thinks it's adorable.

"Who you?" she asked with a raspy high-pitched voice, rubbing her eyes to look at Sehun clearly.

"Sehun." the blonde man answered, laughing a little when Hannie's pupils dilated, her mind trying to process the information.

"Who car?"

"Sehun's."

"Who Sehun?"

"I'm Sehun." he said to the girl. He walked out of his car and opened the car's back door. "Let's get out and go to the market."

Sehun slowly took Hoon into his arm and carry the sleeping boy, letting his head fall on his shoulder. He gently holds Hannie's hand with his other hand when the girl jumps out of the car. They walked to the market's entrance door.

They walked to the lines of market trolleys. Sehun let go of Hannie's hand so that he could pull out one of the small trolley. Hannie looks more awake now that she set her eyes on the small trolley.

"Hannie want push!" she smiled sweetly to Sehun. Not that the CEO can say no to the little doe eyes.

It was weekend afternoon, yet to Sehun's relief, the market isn't very crowded. There are only a few other shoppers other than them, most of them are old women as well so Sehun doesn't have to worry for kidnappers. Hoon whimpered in agreement.

As soon as they get in the market, Hannie giggled loudly, skipping around while pushing the small trolley which is still too big for her around the market from aisle to aisle. She occasionally took some random things and throws it inside the trolley. Sehun pouted playfully at her the first times she did it, making her chuckle. But now she's just doing it to annoy Sehun.

Not like that's a big deal. Sehun put the random things she threw in back to its place when she's not looking.

Along the way, Sehun picked out some ingredients which he thinks are easy for him to cook. He picked out eggs, some strips of bacon, and some other beginners' cooking ingredients. Some old women walked to him and (forcefully) put in 'healthy' vegetables inside his trolley. Hannie wasn't too happy.

To cheer up (and prevent her from crying) Hannie, Sehun lead her to the snacks' aisles or more known as food-kids-want-to-eat aisle. Like a bee swarming around honey, Hannie was mesmerized at the sight of the sweets, letting out a few "woahh" and "ooh"s. Sehun shook his head.

"Pick the ones you like. Not too much, okay?" Sehun told her, shifting Hoon to his other arm at the same time. Hannie nodded and began exploring the beautiful world that is the market's snacks isle.

"Sehun? Oh Sehun?" a deep voice called from behind, making Sehun turn around. At the end of the aisle is a man with three kids, all three inside the trolley looking like puppies. The man smiled warmly, waving his hand at Sehun. He pushed his trolley and makes his way to Sehun. "Fancy meeting you here, man. You look just as handsome as back then!"

"Hey to you too. You didn't change either." Sehun smiled, shaking hands with the man whom he now recognized to be one of his high school classmate.

Hoon began squirming in his arm. Sehun protectively hold him back, preventing him from falling. The little boy lifted his head off Sehun's shoulder and rubbed his eyes with his fist, eyes squinting trying to look at his too bright environment. He decided to take cover back in the crook of Sehun's neck instead.

"Wow, he looks so much like you. So handsome~" the man laughed. Sehun chuckled back just to be polite, not understanding.

"Thanks?" he replied, unsur. It went unnoticed by the man.

The man's eyes travelled around the aisle. "Is that his sister?"

Sehun looked at to where he pointed and saw Hannie with bunch of snacks in her arms, still picking more snacks. He sighed. "Yea, his twin younger sister."

"Wow man, I don't know how kids can only pick up the best genes of their parents. I mean, I know you're handsome and Lulu is just gorgeous, but I didn't expect your son and daughter would look even more handsome and more beautiful!" he exclaimed, patting Sehun's shoulder.

Your son and daughter? Sehun thought weirdly. What is his friend even talking about. Moreever, kids with Luhan? Good thing Sehun is always good at managing his expressions. Nobody can see him froze at the mention of his ex-wife's name. He was too confused to even explain the real situation to his friend. Do anyone knows about their divorce?

"Excuse me?"

"You know, you and Lulu should come to our high school reunion parties! You never come! Only Lulu comes! And even if she comes, she'd go home early 'to take care of her kids' she said. If you two come together with your kids, you two can have fun longer!"

"Take care of her kids?"

"Yeah! You know what? You should come to the next reunion party! I heard it's around two or three months from now. Give me your phone number and I'll call you."

The blonde CEO dazedly gave the man his phone number, letting the man punch in his number in his own phone. Hannie waddled her way with tons of snacks in her arms, putting all inside the trolley without Sehun knowing. Hoon took interest of the snacks and wiggled down from Sehun's arms to pick his owns.

An old hit song rang from the man's phone. Sehun smiles weakly as the man excuse himself since his wife called, telling Sehun one more time that it's nice to meet him before he returned Sehun's phone and pushed his trolley out of the aisle to pay for his things and go home.

He's surprised that he's shocked about it. Sehun should've known better. He hasn't met Lulu once since the past four years, of course the woman would move on and have a family of her own by now. She's beautiful, smart, pure, and attractive. What could stop her? Definitely not Sehun.

Sounds of boxes clanking with each other broke Sehun's thoughts. He quickly dismissed the thoughts of Lulu; knowing that it will make him feel depressed, he'd rather not. He averted his eyes to the trolley.

"WHAT IN THE WORLD?!"

The food ingredients (including the vegetables) he put in are now scattered on the floor, the trolley full of biscuits, cakes, Peperos, and other snacks. The blonde CEO looked around the aisle and found that a quarter of the shelves are now empty. Sehun sighed.

With two little monsters to take care of, he's pretty sure he has no time to think of Lulu for a while.

Nothing too hard for Sehun to handle happen for the rest of the day. The twins behaved with the bribe of a few snacks Sehun bought them (he put back most of the snacks back to the market's shelf).

He helped the twins wash up, feeling slightly awkward when bathing Hannie. He took out pajamas from the twins' suitcases, dressing them up neatly. He somehow even ended up brushing Hannie's hair. Then, he told the kids to go watch TV or play something nicely while he cooks dinner for them.

Hoon took out his alien robot from his suitcase and Hannie took out her dolls. They sat on the living room's carpet floor and played nicely. Sehun took out the ingredients he bought and placed it in the fridge, leaving out some for him to cook.
It may not be perfect, but after an hour or so, Sehun's first ever rice is done. Sehun opened the rice cooker to see the rice, and to his luck, it's neither burnt nor sticky. It was decent. The kids came running at the sound of the rice cooker ding-ing. They clapped happily, cheering that they'll get feed soon.

Dinner is served. Sehun hopes the twins would be fine with just rice and a fried-egg. Thankfully, the twins are way too hungry to complain. They're good with spoons so Sehun doesn't need to feed them again like earlier.

Once or twice, either Hoon or Hannie would speak up gibberish, talking with their mouths full of food. The blonde adult would scold them, telling them that it's disgusting to eat with their mouths full of food.

"Sehun same with mama." Hoon complained. Sehun smugly stick his tongue out before laughing with Hannie.

What weirded Sehun out is the fact that he found the twins' company pleasant. It's a nice change that he doesn't have to eat instant food alone on a weekend. It's nice to have someone to talk to over dinner. It's nice to think that he has a family to look out for.

"Gege! Give pwates to Sehun!" Hannie told her brother. The two picked up their dirty plates and gave them to Sehun who is already in front of the sink, washing his own dishes.

"Thanks." Sehun took the plates and washed it. "You know, you guys should be flattered cause I haven't been washing any dishes since the past four years."

"Mama washes diwrty plates." Hoon told Sehun, jumping up and down to look at the dishes Sehun's washing.

"Well your mama is a good mama then." Sehun said. "What time do you guys go to bed?"

Just then, Hannie yawned loudly, making Sehun look at her and chuckle. Hoon followed her and yawn too. Sehun quickly finishes the dishes and wash his hands, using tissues to wipe them dry (despite the fact that there's a clothe hanging next to the sink).

"I guess it's now." he smiled warmly. He scooped Hoon with his one arm and Hannie with his other arm. The twins giggle all the way to the bedroom, praising Sehun's strength. He opened the bedroom door with his leg. Then, he put the twins on the king-sized bed in the middle of the room.

"Sehun sleep!" Hannie giggled, her body inside the grey bedcover, only her head popping out. Hoon already curled up in his spot.

"I will." Sehun smiled. He walked to the door, turning off the main light, leaving the night-lamp on for the twins before he walked out of the bedroom. "Good night, guys."

Sehun made his way to his own bedroom. He plopped himself down on his unmade bed, sighing loudly because he was tired with the sudden turn of event today. Speaking of which, he needs to call Chanyeol to pick up the twins.

He looks around his room, trying to find his phone. He hid it in his room earlier because Hoon dared Hannie to color it with crayons earlier; and Sehun would not like a crayon-covered phone. That is so the 70s. Was there phone in the 70s?

The blonde CEO is punching Chanyeol's number on his phone when he suddenly felt a dip on his bed. He quickly turned around to face his bed's intruder. To his relief, it's Hannie trying to slip in his bedcover on the other side of the bed.

"Hey Hannie. I thought you're sleepy?" he asked, trying to sound gentle.

"Hannie sleep with Sehun." she said so innocently as if it's a normal thing.

Sehun jumped to a sitting position. "What? No no no no. I'll take you back to your bedroom and you sleep there with Hoon."

"Hannie want sleep with Sehun!" she whined.

"Look, Hannie, I'm not the kind to sleep with someone. I sleep alone." he tried to explain.

Unfortunately for him, Hannie does not understand the concept of 'alone'. She nodded sleepily, but instead of going back to her assigned bedroom, she crawled closer to Sehun and snuggles into his arm like a kitten to its mother.

"Hannie, I'll count to 3 and you better go back to your bed. One .. Twoo .." Sehun counted but the girl doesn't move. That leaves Sehun no choice but to lift the girl and carry her to her bedroom himself.

"NO! NO! NO!" she thrashed around in Sehun's arm, trying to get down on the bed. Sehun refused to do so. Shortly after, Hannie began crying loudly. The blonde CEO ignored her and tucks her in her bed, next to sleeping Hoon.

"Night, Hannie." he said before running back to his bedroom, covering his ears from Hannie's whining and begs. He locked his door and jump straight onto his bed. He slipped inside his bedcover and took his phone to continue what he was doing.

"SEHUUUUN!" Hannie cried, banging on Sehun's bedroom door a few times, bawling at the same time. Sehun gulped when she let out muffled sobs. "Sehunnie pwease."

That two words were enough to make Sehun stiffen on his bed, feeling guilty for no apparent reason. Hannie sounded so desperate. She kept knocking on his door for minutes, calling out Sehun's name to get him to open the door. But Sehun stayed on his spot.

"Sehun?"

The blonde man stayed quite. Hannie didn't sound so desperate anymore. Nor does she sound like she's crying. Maybe she stopped crying and decided to give up on trying to call for Sehun. Sehun stayed quiet and unmoving for a couple of minutes, trying to check if Hannie's gone back to her bedroom yet.

Silence accompanied him. Sehun mentally cheered that Hannie has given up. It's not that he doesn't like the girl. Sehun's a clingy type - he's often attached to a person. He's just afraid if he got too close to her, then he'd decide to keep the girl for himself and won't let her go. Sehun can't do that; for one, Hannie has her own parent. So he better keep distance before that happen.

He patted his pillow a few times before laying down on the soft mattress. It was a tiring day and Sehun wants to call it a day. He laid on his side and closed his eyes for a brief second. A loud 'thud' was heard.

"Mamaa .." a soft voice called out in her sobs.

Sehun jumped out his bed in a speed of lightning, opening the lock and door of his bedroom. Hannie was laying down on her stomach on the floor in front of Sehun's bedroom door, sobbing quietly, calling for her mama to come. Feeling bad, Sehun picked the girl up into his arms, letting her sob into his chest. He carried her to his bed.

"Hannie want mama." she cried, looking around the bedroom, hoping her mama would come out.

"It's only me here." Sehun told her, holding her closely to him. It's his way to tell her not to be scared, that someone's there for her.

"Hannie sleep with Hannie mama every day." she told Sehun. "Hannie want Hannie mama."

"I-" Sehun is flustered. He's a quite independent kid growing up, never seeking for his parents so he is clueless of what to do when Hannie cry out for her mama who Sehun doesn't even know.

In the midst of his panic, the door to his bedroom swung open once again, this time it's Hoon. He ran and jumped up to Sehun's bed, sitting down next to his sister and pulled her into a big hug. Hannie slowly calmed down.

"Hannie don't want sleep alone with gege!" she said into her brother's pajamas. Although she loves her brother, she doesn't want to sleep alone with him because- Well, Hoon is still as small as she is, he won't be able to protect her yet.

Hoon's eyes immediately looked up into Sehun's. "Hoon Hannie want sleep with Sehun." he said flatly. Sehun is taken aback of how manly Hoon sounds.

As taken aback as he is, Sehun nodded in agreement. He patted both space on his bed, letting the twins sleep on each side of him. Hannie wiped her tears with her small hands and lay her small figure on the bed, snuggling to Sehun's arm. Hoon on the other hand, lay down with his back facing Sehun. Being in the middle, Sehun can only lay on his back, trying not to move much so the twins can sleep. The 28 years old man fell asleep shortly after;

Thoughts of calling his best friend forgotten.

{drabble}

Tao's whole body started trembling, especially her hand. She dropped the thing she was gripping in her hand onto the floor. Her eyes started to get watery and as time goes it became too much too handle for her to hold in. She sat herself on the floor, her eyes never leaving the little rectangle test kit with two red lines on it.

She's pregnant.

Pregnancy they say, is the best gift every married couple can get. It gives them the glue of their family; a child. But it's not the thing for Tao. For hers and Kris' marriage life, this pregnancy could be the wrecking ball. This pregnancy could mean the end of their marriage.

Unconsciously, her hand travelled to her stomach to rub it slowly. There's a baby living inside her stomach. She's carrying Kris' little one. A child is growing inside her stomach, but there she is crying and shaking in the bathroom corner.

Don't get her wrong. Tao loves children. She planned to have kids of her own ever since she was a little girl. She wants to be a mother, giving birth to her children, name them, cook for them, bathe them, dress them up.

Kris on the other hand, hates children. He thinks they're clingy, annoying, and noisy. He doesn't want to have children. Heck, one time they almost break up because of it. But because Tao loves Kris so much, she gave in to him and gave up with her dream to have children.

Now she's pregnant for real, she'll have her own child as she dreamed. But it could also mean that she'll lose Kris; he'll leave her for sure.

"Zitao?" she heard the voice she loves the most knocking on the bathroom door. "What's taking you so long? Are you okay?"

She wants to stand up, open the door, and tell him that everything is alright. But she can't because she's crying too much and because nothing is alright at the moment.

Suddenly, the door to the bathroom slammed opened, a panicked looking Kris entered. He rushed to Tao's side with lightning speed, taking the younger into his arms, letting her cry into his chest. He gently help her walk out the bathroom and to their bed. The chinese panda-girl is shaking so bad and that worried Kris.

"Tao, what's wrong?" he asked, rubbing her back in a soothing manner.

The said girl looked up to her husband's eyes with her bloodshot red ones. She's never one to beat around the bush with things. Cause she knows sometimes time won't change anything. So might as well get over it.

"G-gege," Tao started, handing the pregnancy test kit to Kris with shaking hands. "I'm pregnant."

As she expected, his eyes widened in shock at the item handed to him. "W-what are you talking ab-bout?"

Kris stared at Tao, his eyes full of complete disbelief and confusion. Tao knows her time is short and she might end up not having a chance to explain at all if she doesn't stop crying. With the last bit of strength she had in her, she mustered her courage and speak.

"Gege, I'm sorry about this. I know you don't want kids in your life, but now I'm carrying our baby in my stomach. This baby is also yours, gege. I've decided that I want to keep my- no, our baby."

"I'm g-going to get some fresh air." Kris said hurriedly, stepping backwards clumsily until his back touched the door before he ran out their bedroom to wherever he can't hear Tao anymore.

Tired of everything, Tao broke down and fell flat onto their bed, collapsing on her pillow, giving in to whatever it is that fate has for her until morning comes. Until then, she'll just let the darkness engulf her and kidnap her from the reality that is bitter.
