Married To My Boss
Chapter Three
It's been three days since Kris had dropped them the news and the informations he had asked for had just arrived in Chen's hands. The male had just arrived from the airport after a two days trip to Bali for a meeting when his informer came and handed him a folder. Chen walked into his condo and headed straight towards the living room with his suitcase, feeling exhausted after the long flight. He let out a tired sigh as he sat down before reaching for the brown folder on the table. He quickly took the contents out and widened his eyes when he recognised the picture of the female on the first page. What is this? He flipped through the papers and scoffed in disbelief. To say he was the least bit surprised was an understatement. The informations he had just received from his private his investigator had totally blew his mind away. This is so messed up!
After a moment of going through the papers, Chen reached for his phone and dialled for Kris's number. He tried thrice, but none of his calls were answered. Frustrated, he threw the phone onto the couch next to him and leaned back against the backrest. This is going to be so... interesting.
Kris watched with a bored expression as his girlfriend - or should we ex-girlfriend - paced around the room with a pissed expression on her face. She then stopped in the middle of the room and sharply gazed at the tall handsome CEO who still adorned a bored looked on his face.
"How can you do this to me, Kris?" she asked, her voice laced with anger.
"Simple. I don't have any more reasons to stay," he told her, not minding the least bit that his words pained her. Chaerin shook her head, her eyes already wet with unshed tears, and walked over to him. She cups his face and forced him to look into her eyes, slightly shivering when his cold gaze bored into hers. "Please don't do this to me," she whispered.
Kris scoffed and grabbed both her wrists, pulling it away from her face. "Enough with this, Chaerin." he told her lowly. "You know I didn't date you because I love you. And I warned you not to fall in love with me. Our relationship has always been only about ."
Chaerin stepped away from him with tears in her eyes and mumbled, "But I do love you. It wasn't just for me, Kris."
"...well, it is for me." Kris muttered and began to turn to the door only to be stopped by an arm around his waist and a body attached on his back. "Don't go, Kris. Please don't go."
The male sighed, obviously annoyed with the situation, and stood still in his spot; waiting for her to release him. When she continued to cry while holding onto him, Kris detached her arms from his waist and stepped away.
"Kris, please!" she begged but he ignored her and walked out of her apartment; out of her life.
"Luhan, wait up!" The Chinese man turned and raised his brow at the sight of Chen walking towards him. "Hey, you need something?" he asked as they both made their way towards Luhan's office. "You can say that," the other replied and ignored the weird look Luhan was giving him.
"Sir," the two stopped in their tracks when an employee approached them with a file in her hand. "Is this everything?" Luhan asked her as the file exchanged hands. "Yes, sir. It's been approved by the head of management and he wants you to look through it as soon as you can. The maintainance department wanted these as soon as possible."
Luhan sighed and nodded; dismissing the employee and continued in his track with Chen still next to him. The Chinese man flipped through the file as he walked, occassionally glancing forward to make sure he wouldn't be bumping into anyone. "What's that?" his friend asked. "The list of thin
