Married To My Boss
Twenty One
Kris
I stepped out of the car and shut the door softly before locking it. I looked around and sighed before heading towards the lobby; I headed straight to elevator for the 12th floor of the complex and made my way towards condo 1201. I let out a sigh before pressing onto the bell, continuing to do so until I hear a distant shout from inside and footsteps approaching the door. It opened a moment later and the sight of Suho in a black V-neck shirt and boxers welcomed me.
"Kris?"
"Miss me?" I smirked before pushing open the door and stepping inside the condo like I own it. I hear Suho shutting the door behind me before his footsteps followed mine to the living room, and I sat myself on his comfortable sofa before looking at him. "Were you asleep?" I casually asked as he yawned.
"Damn it, Kris. Of course I was. It's 3AM. What are you doing here?" he asked as he took a seat at the opposite sofa. "What time did you reach home?" he asked. "An hour ago." I told him. "And where's Haru?" "At my condo."
"Does she know you're here?" he asked and I sighed before shaking my head. I heard him sigh a while later and without looking at him, I knew he was giving me an unsatisfied look. "Why are you here, Kris?" he asked once more.
"It's August 3rd, Suho." I told him and he sighed. "Yeah, I know. That still doesn't answer why the hell are you here at 3AM, Wu Yifan." "You know why I'm here. I'm sure you do; like you always do."
Suho leaned back against the sofa and slowly nodded his head. "I know. But I bet Haru doesn't." he guessed and I nodded. "Does she even know anything?" he asked and I shook my head. "Why didn't you tell her?" I sighed. "I'm going to."
"When?"
"Tomorrow?"
"There?"
"Yeah."
Blink. Blink.
Kris frowned in annoyance as Suho continued to blink wordlessly at him. "Yah, what the hell is wrong with you?" he questions. "What the hell is wrong with you!?" Suho questions back, looking baffled. "Who are you and what have you done to Kris ing Wu!?" Kris groans and leans back on the sofa. " you, Kim Junmyeon." he muttured.
"Yah, you're the one scaring out of me. Seriously, you're going to bring her over tomorrow to meet Hyosung??" Suho asked in disbelief. Kris took a moment of tormenting silence before he gave out a silent 'yes' and Suho immediately felt his jaw drop while his eyebrow raised in surprise. "Wow, just got real." he muttured to himself. "Dude, what changed you?" he asked.
"...time." was the other's reply. "Look, you've been telling me to change; quit being an and start living right. That's what I'm trying to do, okay?" he told his friend and Suho breathed in before nodding. "She made you change, didn't she?" It wasn't really a question, but a statement. "...yeah." "What happened?"
"...I'm not the only one suffering, Junmyeon." Kris whispered, his eyes darting far away as he thought of his wife sleeping on his bed back at his condo. "She's suffered all these while, and this marriage might just end it." Suho frowned as he tried to understand. "It's time I let go of the past and just...live. She's not a bad person anyway."
"You like her." Another statement.
"Yeah."
"You're changing."
Kris actually chuckled at this. "Freaky, isn't it?" he said before sighing. "Even Haru thinks it's... weird." Suho chuckled and gave his friend a smile. "It is, but it's good. You do know you're actually going back to your old self, right?" Suho questions rhetorically before chuckling again. "I miss the old you, man. Seriously."
"To be honest, I miss it at times too." "What happened?" Suho questions more to himself but Kris answered it instead. "Hyosung." Suho looks at his friend before his gaze moved towards a picture frame next to the television. His eyes saddened and he barely caught his friend's painful whisper of "Hyosung happened."
Haru woke up with a start when she felt something snaking around her waist. She glanced down under the sheet and sighed in relief when she realises that it was just Kris's arms holding her. She turned her head around and caught a glimpse of his
