[EXP] Settling Dust

Eosophobia I [Explanatory]

Welcome...

...Dear reader, We’ve reached our 5th chapter! First of all, we’d like to thank all of those that have made it so far. We hope you’re enjoying it all as much as we are!

Our angels are slowly finding out what they’re getting themselves into. One by one, they’ve met their roommates and some of them even managed to make some friends already. In this explanatory chapter, we’ll provide you with the student cards of those that have been introduced. On top of that, we’ll discuss some Academy basics briefly.

The Academy for the Gifted

The Academy greatly resembles a boarding school, educating its pupils by day and housing them by night. A large dining hall is located at the heart of the premises, serving students a variety of dishes twice a day, although some students prefer having their dinner at their dormitories, where a sign up system and kitchen duty are used to provide students with meals. All breakfast is had within the dorms.

The pupils follow ordinary subjects, such as Philosophy, Drama, Biology, P.E. and Mathematics. However, many of these subjects are taught from a perspective fitting the society of many races living together, teaching the students how the world they live in evolved throughout the centuries and how the different people living in it interact with each other. On top of that, students follow subjects such as Spiritual Advancement and Ancient Cultural Studies, all to familiarize with their own identities and gifts. The Academy strives to banish ignorance from their students’ hearts, providing a safe environment to every individual.

Despite the extensive attention and education the Academy provides for their students, it is important to note that attendance is by all means optional; not all demons or gifted humans or halflings choose to attend. Some humans and halflings with less demanding gifts, decide to stay with their families and live their life as any regular human would. On the other hand, some demon communities haven’t quite forgotten the struggles that have occurred between them and the other races and do not wish to associate with humans or halflings in any way. Another possibility is that a demon child might have no real connection to any form a demon community anymore, not seeing the merit of evolving oneself into a, for the lack of a better word, better demon.

The Human Realm // Abeir-Toril "Cradle of Life"

Referred to by the humans as Abeir-Toril, the human realm is rich in any terrain imaginable, divided by large bodies of water. It is this variety in lands that causes the vast differences in races and people. Its inhabitants include humans and demons, as well as the largely controversial halflings. In the past, each of these races has its own culture and customs, occasionally causing conflict. In comparison to Gihon, it possesses a far more diverse political system, in which great effort is made to represent all people, not just the elite.

Most humans and halflings have, however, lost their touch with nature and the energy that flows through all living things, steering their society in a more industrial direction. This has also lead to most humans not being aware of the non-human population that lives alongside them.

Many humans have dedicated their lives to the development of state of the art inventions, contributing to the quality of life of the general public.
