This was supposed to be a normal recording day for Running Man and the production staff with the cast, but something has gone terribly wrong. People started disappearing, and unexplained circumstances appeared even on camera. The truth is hidden in plain sight, but will anyone ever be able to discover it before it’s too late? It is from here the adventures begins…but beware that everything you read may not be what it seems. Beware, and read if you dare…

Setting the Stage

Chief producer Nam Seung Yong and the writers decided to do something new and film the next Running Man episode at an abandoned school in the middle of nowhere. The Chief himself visited the site to make sure it was safe and habitable for a few days. The building was a little dilapidated, about three floors including a basement/storage area, fifty-four rooms, and twelve bathrooms. It took about four days to get the building somewhat hospitable for the crew to begin setting up for the next episode. Some rooms stayed blocked off, and two sets of the bathrooms were fixed so plumbing would work. There was still running water and electricity, so overall it was a real success.

The Chief heard about this place was when he and the staff got together for their regular meetings, and one of the temporary VJs who comes in from time to time to record the guests found it online while they were researching for their next location. Some of the staff became nervous though, when there was a story attached to the location they found. Apparently it’s haunted. There were sightings of restless spirits, but nothing violent or dangerous happened. The school was shut down many years ago due to an outbreak of apparent suicides among the students. The authorities believed it to be the work of an occult and shut the school down while shuffling the students to other schools out of the area. The building has been since then abandoned and too soon forgotten.

The Chief took the warning to heart, but he wasn’t one bit superstitious and thought that this site would be a good setting for the next Choi Min Soo hunting episode. So he called Choi personally and arranged to meet him before calling on the Running Man crew. Choi was really excited to have the opportunity to show on Running Man, and he arrived the very next day to scout the area and plan another theme. This time, it won’t be like any Running Man episode they’ve ever done before…
