“Okay, we’re lost.” 

“No, we’re not. We’re just…taking an alternate route.”

Y/N shook her head as her boyfriend continued to drive, fists tight on the steering wheel and eyes constantly switching from the road to the GPS system installed on the car’s console.

Y/N knew Jimin well enough to know the he was lost…but was too proud to admit it.

It’s been three hours and the night was going fast, turning into a new day. Y/N looked at her phone, swiping right to unlock and was welcomed by an invitation. Her cousin Hana was getting married tomorrow and Y/N was glad that Jimin agreed to go with her as her plus one despite his busy schedule. Being president of their university’s student council, Jimin didn’t have a lot of free time on his hands. 

In fact, most of their dates took place in council meetings, with all the members no longer batting an eye whenever Y/N enters their office or find her already sitting on Jimin’s chair. Jinyoung, the council secretary, had already named her an honorary member considering how often they saw her there.

Their dates often involved just having to eat together—with Y/N making sure Jimin wasn’t skipping meals. With his hectic schedule, Jimin often forgot to do the necessary to things to keep him alive: like eating healthy meals and drinking enough liquids. And so Y/N made herself available to remind him to do just that every day.

“So my cousin is getting married in two weeks,” Y/N opened up as they were having lunch at the council office Thursday afternoon. Jimin hummed as he ate, letting her know that he was listening. “It’s on a Sunday, and I know you’re busy with the upcoming fundraiser—“

“Sure,” Jimin had suddenly answered as he picked up a piece of radish with his chopsticks. 

Y/N blinked then, not expecting his answer; but a smile slowly crept to her face as she watched him chewing cutely. “You didn’t even know what I was going to say.”

“You were going to invite to be your date at the wedding, right?” Jimin said matter-of-factly, looking up at her with a smile. “I’d love to.”

“What made you think I didn’t have a date already?” She teased and Jimin stopped chewing then, giving her a scandalized look. Y/N giggled and leaned in to kiss the pout forming on his lips. It was a quick peck and Jimin’s eyes widened at the gesture, his lips tingling from the feather touch. Y/N wasn’t always so touchy or “kissy”. It had always been Jimin who was more open to public display of affection in the relationship, so the gesture was unexpected considering they were eating in the middle of the council office where any o
