Since I'm trying to poem, I decided to write out my feelings like this. So...yeah.

I woke
this morning,
feeling heavier than usual
I looked to the calendar and realized
why

Why did I suddenly feel like this?
Today
It's the day you were supposed to age a year older
But you didn't
You failed to do so
Once you left
You never aged
You remained the same
Frozen
at fifteen

No sweet sixteens
No driver's license
Not even a graduation
Frozen in time
You were supposed to age

I walked downstairs last night
To find your best friend crying
How could you do this to the both of us?
You left
But the hole you left is greater

So happy birthday
For another year gone
Celebrated
without you here
