Dating JYH's Daughter

Laughter rang out from the windows of the living room of a white two-storey house in Sandodong. Outside the sun was shining brightly as the butterflies and the bees went about their business around the rosebushes and daisies in the frontyard. Rows of wooden picket fences painted in white surrounded the house and yard, a tiny toy soldier hanging by a piece of string on the blue mailbox by the gate. An inflatable pool laid upturned in one corner of the front yard, and two pink bicycles were parked beside it.

In the kitchen, Seohyun smiled as she heard the laughter. A nice little tea party in the middle of the afternoon sounded nice as the lil ones took their nap in the nursery upstairs.

"I still can't believe our Hyun-ah's already got a high schooler," Taeyeon was saying as Seohyun entered the living room with her tea tray. "How old is Hyunnie?"

"She's fifteen, turning sixteen next month," Seohyun replied as she set down the tray on the coffee table.

"Well, I can't seem to get on with the fact that she's got five kids," Sooyoung added. Seohyun just smiled at their comments.

"It's all that mighty red ginseng. Does Yong-seobang still drink that stuff?!" Yuri blurted out. Everyone shrieked with laughter as they watched Seohyun's face flush with embarrassment.

"Yah, eonnie why are you saying these things?!" the mother of five cried out, clearly still the maknae of the group.

Yuri just smirked as she held up a tea cup to her lips. Beside her on the couch lounged a pregnant Jessica, rubbing her belly as she flipped through a fashion magazine with Tiffany.

"We're forgetting that someone else has a high-schooler here," Sunny piped up as a grinning Hyoyeon held up a pointed finger above Yoona's head.

"Seriously, it's always the youngest ones who marry first," Taeyeon said, shaking her head as she grinned.

Seohyun and Yoona just smiled at each other. The former took the opportunity to take a jibe at her friend. " I got married first... but SHE  got pregnant way ahead of me," she added with a murmur. This earned another round of shrieks and laughter.

"Ssshhhh try to keep it down ladies, we don't want to disturb their nap," Taeyeon shushed. All the moms peered at the wide flatscreen television showing a video of the nursery. They all held their breaths as two toddlers moved to change their sleeping position. The rest slept soundly. A collective sigh of relief went around the room.

"Mom? MOM? MOMMM!!!"

Seohyun quickly stood up in response to the urgency in Hyunnie's voice from the hallway. The girl barged into the living room panting, her hair in disarray and cheeks flushing. She pushed up the red framed eyeglasses on her nose before speaking, her eyes sparkling.

"Sshhh Hyunnie, keep it down! All the lil ones are napping!" Seohyun reprimanded in a low voice, before waving her daughter over. "What is it sweetie?"

Hyunnie greeted and bowed to her aunts as she made her way to her mother quickly. She looked like she could barely hold her excitement.

"Mom! I-- I got asked to the school dance!" she blurted out excitedly, almost jumping on her feet.

Before Seohyun could reply, all the aunties rose up and screamed, scrambling to give Hyunnie a hug and shrieking their excited congratulations. Seohyum beamed as she watched them fawn over her eldest daughter.

Jessica called out from her seat on the couch. She couldn't join the rush because of her big belly. "So, who's the lucky boy?" she inquired with a smile.

"Yes, who is this boy who made my dear daughter so excited?" Seohyun asked, patting Hyunnie's hands. The teenager suddenly fell quiet and blushed. She looked at her mom nervously. "Umm... Jonghoon oppa..." she squeaked in a small voice.

The room grew silent. All heads turned to Yoona, who had a muffin in midair. Her eyes grew wide as hung open.

"MY Jonghoonie?!" she asked, looking from Seohyun to Hyunnie. All aunties turned to Hyunnie, waiting for her answer. She gave the slightest nod.

"OH MY GOSH YES!!! THAT'S MY BOY!" Yoona suddenly screamed as she hugged Hyunnie. All aunties joined in, except Jessica. They formed a group hug and jumped like school girls.

The sound of crying broke out from the television screen. All the commotion had woken up the napping babies upstairs.

The aunties filed up the staircase to tend to their kids, leaving Seohyun alone with Hyunnie.

"Let me take care of Yongyong mom--"

"I'll do it sweetie. There's one thing we gotta think about first," Seohyun said as she gently placed a hand on her daughter's head.

"Yeah?"

"Ummm... Who's telling your father?"
