Description

There is an old legend that many have told.
The words the tale contains express the unrequited love of a lonesome Sea Spirit, desperately in love with a beautiful, human girl.

She walks the beaches of her island, dreaming of the lover who will take her away, as her gaze settles upon the blue, sparkling waves. He meets her hopeful eyes, craving for her acknowledgement that he knows he'll never receive.
Min Hee.
Her name is absolute music to the spirit.
The essence of the letters are all too accurate to her character.
Pleasant is her lullaby-delicate voice. Each sound escaping her lips, attracting every being to witness the alluring sound.
Brightness is the radiance that surrounds her frame. Her eyes and skin glow or dim, following suit by each emotion she drapes over herself.
But only when she is isolated from society.
Only when she sits upon the soft sand.
Only when she watches waves crash upon the shore, just barely brushing her toes.
Only in those moments does she wear those true emotions.
Each one tugging on the Sea Spirit's heart, leading him only to fall deeper into that dream that contains only her.

She is always on his mind.
Yet, he knows he can never have her. He could never make her his.
The girl was human. It was not feasible.
Still, the Sea Spirit gazed at her flaw-ridden appearance as she wept each day and night.
Always secluded and on her own.
What he would give to wipe away those tears that fell upon her rosy cheeks.
If only he was able to speak and cause her in any way to smile. It was his most favorite sight of all.
All he wanted was to freely love her.
He wanted to step upon the shore and sit on the warm, soft sand, feeling it flow between his physical, human-like fingers. He wanted to hold her in his arms, quietly singing the lullabies he had heard originate from her. She would not run away and would fall in love with the spirit, just as he did her, paying no mind to the fact that he was not human.
Love would be blind.

Oh, how he wished that would come true!
His yearning heart could take it no longer.
Turning human was not impossible, he knew of this fact.
It was only taboo for a spirit.
Yes, but to him it was worth the risk. When it came to Min Hee any risk was worth receiving her undying attention.
He would sacrifice anything for the girl.

The Sea Spirit, in turn, assured his fate, enveloping his invisible appearance into one that resembled one of a human.
He settled upon the shore, the sand feeling exactly how he imagined, awaiting every day for the love of his life.
After eighteen long years of watching her age, he could finally speak to her.
That would be enough, he had assured himself.
Just to speak to her would be sufficient enough for his longing.

The Sea Spirit waits for the girl, sitting upon the historic beach.
One time being when the sun rises.
The second being the mid afternoon of a day.
Third being when the sun lowered itself.
And the last being the middle of the night, where it turned from night to day.
They were his favorite times.
Fairly, he didn't expect her to come see him each of those moments.
Just so long as he spoke to her at least once.
Then, he prayed, he would be satisfied.
He could then return to the sea, when not on the shore, awaiting impatiently for their next scheduled encounter.
