[CONTENTID2]All she could remember were the voices. Everything else spun into oblivion.[/CONTENTID2][CONTENTID1]Description: Set in an era of secrets, romance, and lies combined with glamour and mysterious shadows bumping in the night, Indigo Silk explores a society cloaked in darkness, controlled by an assembly of powerful women, the seven deadly sins in the flesh. They slip out only when blackness overlaps, children of the night is what they called themselves. Only the thought of feeding on the living lures them out from their realm. But times have changed and now they are on the prowl, hunting for more than just pleasure.

Excerpt: All night the wind blew, the rain poured and the sea crashed on to the coast like a monster ready to swallow the land. A woman clothed in satin and lace flew frantically down the flight of stairs of her empty home as a grey shadow loomed menacingly above her. She was disheveled, her beautiful polonaise gown soiled and torn, her long locks of jet black hair escaped in a haste of their pins. The mascara and powder could not conceal the apparent fear in her expression as tears raced down her high cheekbones and onto the small bundle held tightly against her bosom. As the woman stumbled through the dimly lit corridors, the flickering light of the candles caused the bundle to glow faintly. It was blue or indigo in color. The woman her dry, cracked lips and parted them to speak but no words ever formed... not even a sound. She felt it then, the cold icy grip of doom. The hands of death itself wrapped around her white neck. With all her energy drained, she collapsed on to the burgundy floor. High and fierce, the voice from behind followed her. It found great pleasure in taunting and provoking.

"Where are you going, Edith? Look at you in such a pathetic state. Do you possibly think that there is a way of escaping me?... I am Vanity!"

The dark shadow behind her slowly molded itself into a shape of a human. Greyness fell to reveal a beautiful woman with brilliant golden locks. Her shoulders and neck were bare except for a silver necklace in the shape of a two headed snake. If it was not for her cold eyes and sharp tongue, she could have passed for an angel.

Despite being held back by "Lady Vanity," Edith lifted herself just enough to push open the door in front. The chilling laughter came; it echoed through the hall, mixing with the heavy atmosphere.

"No more hiding behind doors. It is the end of the path for you."

Vanity held out her hand. A single silver dagger materialized. She continued on more forcefully.

"Give me Indigo and I will grant you a quick death. You know very well there is no one else as generous and kind as I."

Edith's body began to shake and a smile crepe across her lips. She kissed the squirming bundle in her arms and with the last of her will, Edith shoved the bundle wrapped in silk through the door as it closed and vanished.

"What have you done!?!" Vanity gripped the dagger tightly. Her knuckles were deadly white. She sprung on Edith like a lioness. Grabbing her loose dark hair, Vanity pulled her close. Edith gasped for air. Her perfume made it impossible to breathe. "What shall we do with the last moments of your life?" She nuzzled against Edith's neck. "I'm feeling rather merciful... shall I give you a good _______ before we say goodbye?"

Sykotica Notes: Another one for the wife that I'm actually subscribed to. I gave Venetian a new coat of paint to match the existing picture. Btw, this is my second attempt at making a banner. I did pretty okay.[/CONTENTID1]
