The jail bars of the police station slammed shut with a sonorous ring, and Kai retreated to the far end of the cell, slumping against the  wall.

Finally, the rebellious, infamous shoplifter got caught.

 Meanwhile Kyungsoo ran off as soon as he saw the police haul him out, that bastard.

The prison guard took a sweeping look at Kai, judging him from head to toe. He certainly didn’t look like the prep school boy he was, not with the red jacket, the beat up sneakers and tattered jeans.

“Look, I’m not what you think I am. I’m a good person, most of the time. I messed up once okay?” Kai said.

The guard gazed at him, and shook his head slowly,

“I know boys like you. I’ve met them here, and I’ve sent them off to jail far away from here. They’re all like you, rich kids with nothing to do, and big lawyers to back y’all up. You didn’t mess up, you chose to get in trouble.”

Kai inhaled sharply, he never got used to being scolded , he always ran to his room and ignored his step mother’s angry screaming, knowing that she will never forgive him if he said sorry anyway.

A policeman suddenly appeared in the hallway, and he pulled the guard aside, murmuring something about his stepmother.

“She’s not paying the bail is she?” Kai said from within the cell, looking at the wall.

The policeman stopped his murmuring and took a good look at him, before saying,

“Kid, you’re going to jail. You don’t even have a bail, man, look; you shoplifted at a jewellery store.”

Kai turned around then, and his eyes widened. “Jail? As in juvie?”

“Not juvie, I’m talking adult jail.”

Jail. He was actually getting punished this time.
